Gay Men Who Sound Gay Face More Homophobia, Ryan Field Books

Gay Men Who Sound Gay Face More Homophobia

I've been reading things like this for years. And there's one guy I follow on TikTok who actually jokes about his own "gay voice."

Gay men are more likely than lesbian women to face stigma and avoidant prejudice from their heterosexual peers due to the sound of their voice, a new study in the British Journal of Social Psychology reports.

Here's more. They go into a lot more detail, as you would imagine. It's really not simple and there are several factors...

TV Show "It's a Sin" Gay Sex, Shame, and AIDS, Ryan Field Books

TV Show "It's a Sin" Gay Sex, Shame, and AIDS

There's a new TV show in the UK called "It's a Sin." I had a chance to watch the first episode and I loved it. It's set in the UK, in the early days of AIDS, and it shows what life was like before AIDS became known widely as a deadly pandemic. No one really knew what it was in the earliest days. It's well-written, the characters are likable, and nothing seemed contrived to me.

There is also a graphic and unsparing exploration of the horrific homophob...

When Self-Loathing Gay Men Straight-Wash Their Own Lives and Erase Their Own Gay Culture, Ryan Field Books

When Self-Loathing Gay Men Straight-Wash Their Own Lives and Erase Their Own Gay Culture

The other day a gay author I know and love posted something on social media about how straight people straight-wash gay culture all the time in books, movies, and TV shows. I've even seen it done on social media. We've all seen this done, and always with the same old stereotypes.

With that said, there are some gay people out there who are just as guilty as straight people. In their desperate need to fit in an...

Iran and Electric Shocks on Gay Children, Ryan Field Books

Iran and Electric Shocks on Gay Children

This is another one of those horrible stories about how gay people are treated in these stupid religious countries that have no concern for human rights. In this case, it's even worse because it's about kids...gay kids.

A UN report released Wednesday on widespread human rights violations in the Islamic Republic of Iran contains shocking findings that the theocratic state imposed electric torture on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender children.

Here's mor...

How the Gay Party Scene Short-Circuited, Ryan Field Books

How the Gay Party Scene Short-Circuited

This is a very interesting article about gay culture with respect to circuit parties. They've been around all my life and yet I'm still learning new things about them that I didn't know before.

The circuit soon came to simply refer to the network of underground nightclubs where gay men could dance together. These spaces also fostered solidarity among gay people, helping them feel less stigmatized and normalizing some of the issues they faced, whether it was...

Matt Bomer Plays Straight In Season 3 of "The Sinner", Ryan Field Books

Matt Bomer Plays Straight In Season 3 of "The Sinner"

Whenever there's a discussion about whether or not straight actors coming from places of straight white privilege should play gay characters in "gayface" someone always comes up with the reply, "Well, if straight actors can't play gay characters then gay actors can't play straight." Unfortunately, that statement alone is pure straight privilege. Or, they simply just do not "get" it. Because the entire world and most of it's content is straigh...

Memoir About This Guy's "Queer" Identity, Ryan Field Books

Memoir About This Guy's "Queer" Identity

I put the word "queer" in quotes because not all gay men identify as queer. I don't identify as queer and I don't want anyone telling me that I should. I have no problem with anyone else identifying as queer. That's their choice and I fully support that. I, however, like to make this distinction clear so straight people understand that it's not always the way they read it online. We do not all identify as "queer." I won't tell you how to identify, and you...

Dr. Fauci Tries to Defend Homophobic Ronald Reagan and Rewrite AIDS History, Ryan Field Books

Dr. Fauci Tries to Defend Homophobic Ronald Reagan and Rewrite AIDS History

I'm not getting political with this. I'm simply stating facts as I remember them personally. Even though I was very young I can still remember the height of the AIDS crisis and how so many people literally begged President Ronald Reagan for help and support and validation and he simply ignore their pleas. A lot of people ignored these pleas, and a few like Elizabeth Taylor stood up and supported people with AIDS. Taylor ...

Kaepernick Publishing House, A Prison Cell with Former Gay Gang Members, Ryan Field Books

Kaepernick Publishing House

One of the reasons why I love this is because it's new, it's different, and I believe it's the future. Colin Kaepernick is a brilliant man who's clearly taking control of his own life and career. Whether you agree with his politics or not, there is no denying that what he's doing with this indie publishing venture is absolutely wonderful.

This is just part of what I found on his about page.

Kaepernick Publishing LLC., is a publishing company founded by Colin Kaepernick...

Two Gay Men Who Fled Chechnya Are Sent Back, Ryan Field Books

Two Gay Men Who Fled Chechnya Are Sent Back

Here's more on the global front with what's been happening in Chechnya.

Two gay Chechen men who fled to Russia after allegedly being tortured have been returned to Chechnya and are in "mortal danger", a rights group says.

Here's more. For those who don't know, gay men have been facing persecution and torture in Chechnya for years now and no one seems to care about reporting this in the mainstream.

In the simplest terms: these men truly are in very serio...
