Marvel Allegedly Cancels Show for Being Too Gay, Ryan Field Books

Marvel Allegedly Cancels Show for Being Too Gay

Here's another good example of the way they censor gay content in the mainstream. This time a writer tweeted out his disappointment when 'they' pulled a show for allegedly having too much gay content.

“There’s a show we wrote a few years ago,” Biegel wrote in a series of since-deleted tweets. “It was very proudly gay. A singular power-that-be killed the show. Because it was too gay. A rich, straight, Brentwood turd. He got fired for being vile at hi...

Once Again Non-Gay Male Author Bethan Roberts' Novel Is Now a Film Because There are No Books By Gay Authors Out There

Once Again Non-Gay Male Author Bethan Roberts' Novel Is Now a Film Because There are No Books by Gay Authors Out There

I'm going to start this post by asking you to imagine a white author coming from a place of white privilege writing a novel about black people, the black experience, and black relationships. Just think about that and think about how it would be received. Now think about a white author coming from a place of privilege writing about Asian people and writing an Asian story. I'm sure...

A mob carved a homophobic slur into gay man’sflesh, Ryan Field Books

A mob carved a homophobic slur into gay man’s  flesh

Here is another scary story about a gay person being abused and tortured. This time a mob is involved. It happened in Spain.

The young man, 20, reported that about eight people were among the mob and that they shouted insults at him as they attacked him.

Here’s more

It’s a very disturbing story.

The Reproductive Options of Transgender Men and Transgender Men Having Babies, Ryan Field Books

The Reproductive Options of  Transgender Men and Transgender Men Having Babies

Lately, there has been a lot of discussion about the reproductive rights and options of women but you never hear anything about the reproductive rights or options of transgender men. And I think this is a serious, valid topic. With more and more people coming out as transgender every day, we are all going to have to recognize this fact.

And transgender people now have options.

This next article states: "you can be a man...

Missouri Moves Gay History Exhibit, Ryan Field Books

Missouri Moves Gay History Exhibit

Every single time I've been through Missouri I have run into other openly gay men. I've seen gay couples, too. Everyone always seemed happy and content. I never felt out of place either. That's always been my first hand experience in Missouri. If they were saying something behind my back I don't know it. I only know that I never felt the least bit awkward or uncomfortable in the state of Missouri.

Apparently, the New York Times decided to publish this. A histori...

Hey Dude, Toxic Masculinity Doesn't Work For All Guys, Ryan Field Books

Hey Dude, Toxic Masculinity and Bro Culture Doesn't Work For All Guys

I saw a guy I know on Twitter the other day Tweeting to another guy and he was referring to him as, "dude, man, bro, and pal." Classic toxic masculinity and bro culture. Especially the dude part. It just didn't work. It was lame. It's hard to explain but some men...gay or straight...simply cannot get away with toxic masculinity. Sometimes it's even amusing to watch. Toxic masculinity is annoying at best, but when you see someon...

Brian Ruby Only Gay Out Pro Baseball Player, Ryan Field Books

Brian Ruby Only Gay Out Pro Baseball Player

This story isn't about the first gay pro baseball player. That fact belongs to Glenn Burke. You can read all about that here. It's fascinating.

Here's another gay fact for professional sports. Again, this time it's baseball. According to this next article, Brian Rudy is the only out gay pro baseball player at the present time. Ruby first realized he was gay at 14 years old, but it's his comments I truly find interesting. He's not a stereotype and he br...

How Literary Agents and Mainstream Publishing Have Failed LGBTQ People, Ryan Field Books

How Literary Agents and Mainstream Publishing Have Failed LGBTQ Readers and Authors

Instead of me going off on a rant about my own dismal, negative experiences with literary agents and mainstream publishers, I'm linking to this article. I think it shows, in detail, the obstacles we face as non-straight authors who don't have straight privilege. And the most ironic and hypocritical aspect in all of this is that literary agents and mainstream publishers will be the first to tell you just how libera...

The Jenny Jones Show, Homophobia In the 90s, The Gay Panic Defense, and Netflix Series "Trial by Media"

The Jenny Jones Show, Homophobia In the 90s, The Gay Panic Defense, and Netflix Series, "Trial by Media"

Oddly enough, I started watching a cooking show on Youtube called, "Jenny Can Cook." An elderly woman named Jenny tries to show people how to cook, with her own limited knowledge and lack of cooking skill. She's no cook. But she is amusing and I watched her channel just for that reason.

I also kept wondering about her. She reminded me of someone and I just couldn't place her. And then one nig...

The Date Shake is the Unofficial Drink of Palm Springs, CA, Ryan Field Books

The Date Shake is the Unofficial Drink of Palm Springs, CA

This isn't gay news or publishing news, but I think it's pop culture news. And it's interesting. We were coming to Palm Springs for a long time before we even knew date shakes existed. When I discovered them, I couldn't get enough.

The founders of Shields Date Garden in Indio, which features a series of sculptures portraying events from Jesus's life alongside their date palms, came up with a way to crystallize the dates, turning them int...
