A Gay Man Might Help Jeopardy Rebound, Ryan Field Books

A Gay Man Might Help Jeopardy Rebound?

When Joan Rivers passed away, Fashion Police just crashed and burned. Kathy Griffin didn't have the same appeal to viewers, and frankly, no one seems able to fill Joan's proverbial shoes. And this isn't the first time something like that happened. Not everyone is replaceable. I couldn't imagine watching I Love Lucy without Lucille Ball. Could you imagine Everyone Loves Raymond without Ray Romano?

With that said, I'm on the fence about Jeopardy. Alex Trebek ...

Another Tired Hollywood Reboot and This Time It's Homophobic "Chucky" and It's "So Gay It's Scary," Ryan Field Books

Another Tired Hollywood Reboot and This Time It's Homophobic Chucky and It's "So Gay It's Scary"
I get so sick and tired of all these reboots. The originals were usually so good it's not possible to top them with a reboot. They keep trying to reboot older classics time and again and it never works. And this time, at least with their promotions, they are exploiting gay people in order to get people interested in this crap by promoting it as "so gay it's scary."
I don't even know what that means. ...

The Taliban’s return, death to gays, and how Biden will respond, Ryan Field Books

The Taliban’s return, death to gays, and how Biden will respond

The Taliban treats gay people even worse than they treat women. Death to gays is often how it works. So now that they are back people are wondering how President Biden Will respond. Especially since the gay community has been so supportive of Biden.

Right now, LGBTQ people in Afghanistan are being hunted by the Taliban.

2021 The summer of our gay discontent, Ryan Field Books

2021 The summer of our gay discontent

Here’s a story about what a lousy summer it’s been for gay people. I think it’s everywhere. This summer seems unreal just in hate crimes alone all over the world. I know I have posted about enough of them. Not just the US.

Matt Damon, Provincetown COVID cases, and a fractious Boston Pride are just a few of the things that ruined what should have been an LGBTQ-tastic summer.

Here’s more  At we’re not alone in all this. It’s been an awful summer.

"The White Lotus" and the Ridiculous Concept of Gay White Male Privilege, Ryan Field Books

"The White Lotus" and the Ridiculous Concept of Gay White Male Privilege

This is where the PC crowd loses me. They just go too far sometimes, and I'm done.

I just finished watching The White Lotus and I loved it. There was actually an openly gay male playing an openly gay character. You don't see that often. It's almost always a straight actor playing gayface. So that right there usually rules out all gay white male privilege. In fact, the entire concept of gay white male privilege bothers me be...

UK Gay Men Hurt in Attack in Birmingham's Gay Village, Ryan Field Books

UK Gay Men Hurt in Attack in Birmingham's Gay Village

Here's another story from the BBC about gay hate, gay abuse, and physical abuse. Two young gay men were outside a bar in Birmingham's gay village when they were viciously attacked with bottles and verbal abuse. This one was bad.

Patrick was knocked unconscious in the attack and his partner said it was "shocking that would happen in 2021".

Here's more. You can see photos of the men with bruises and cuts all over their faces. They were minding t...

North Texas gay bars offer community, Ryan Field books

North Texas gay bars offer community

This is what gay bars in the past did all the time. They offered gay people a sense of community and often a sense of family. This is about gay bars in North Texas, today.

Watering holes like the 1851 Clubhave long been precious mainstays of queer life.

Here’s more. It’s a good piece about the evolution of the gay bar. I can tell you from personal experience there’s nothing like the first time you enter a gay bar.

Two gay men attacked by 10 homophobic teens, Ryan Field books

Two gay men attacked by 10 homophobic teens

Here’s another story about gay hate crime and gay men being attacked. It seems to be happening a lot more often. This time it happened in the UK.

the two men were seriously injured in a Waitrose market parking lot in Northgate End early Sunday morning.

Here’s the link.  It sounds as if they’re treating this as a hate crime from the start. The victims are being counseled.

Look an Openly Gay Actor Playing an Openly Gay Character, The Homophobic Characters and Storyline, and They're Not Doing Rimming Right in HBO's "The White Lotus," Ryan Field Books

Look an Openly Gay Actor Playing an Openly Gay Character, The Homophobic Characters and Storyline, and They're Not Doing Rimming Right in HBO's "The White Lotus"

This contains spoilers, so you've been warned. If you haven't seen The White Lotus yet, stop reading and come back later.

I posted about a new miniseries on HBO titled, The White Lotus earlier this week and they have been promoting it with one little rimming scene. It's their clickbait and it's not a big deal. I'll get to that at the end...

New Gay Movie "Swan Song" and Disappearing Gay Culture, Ryan Field Books

New Gay Movie "Swan Song" and Disappearing Gay Culture

I believe the disappearance of gay culture began around 20 years ago, around the same time that the Internet started to take off. There's definitely a connection. On weekends back in the 90s, (for Tony and me), our lives revolved around gay restaurants and bars and gay culture in general. We took our vacations in gay destinations like Provincetown, MA and we mostly patronized gay businesses there.

But times have changed in 20 years. And a lot...
