PrEP, Privilege, and Gay Men Nowadays, Ryan Field Books

 PrEP and Gay Men Nowadays

This is an excellent piece about PrEP, HIV, privilege, and accessibility for everyone. The majority of our population doesn't even know about these things.

Whether it’s due to lack of access to insurance, the inability to prioritize health due to unlivable wages, or simply the fear of being “found out” that many in more rural, Southern areas face, the equity gap among HIV-positive people is growing by leaps and bounds.

Here's more. Personally, I still think we have a hu...

Rest In Peace Willie Garson Gay Character from Sex in the City, Ryan Field Books

Rest In Pease Willie Garson Gay Character from Sex in the City

I've slammed the old TV show Sex in the City a few times for the way they portrayed gay men. In many cases they treated them as though they were pet poodles. And you only saw the strongest gay stereotypes. It's really interesting now to go back and watch reruns about how cheesy and tacky that show was altogether. I think it represents all the worst aspects of the 1990s without even trying too hard.

With that said, whenever a gay man f...

A Straight Guy 'Titillates' Effeminate Gay Men, Ryan Field Books

A Straight Guy 'Titillates' Effeminate Gay Men

I think this falls under the category of Gay Baiting. They just don't realize it. It happens all the time, too. I've seen it all my life. The only thing unique about this is that he's so up front and honest about it.

I'm a 26-year-old masculine straight guy who loves exploiting the fantasies so many gay men have about straight men. When a gay guy is into me because I look like his straight-masculine-jock dream, it's a power trip like no other.

Here's...

BLM Protestors Scream Anti-Gay Remarks, Ryan Field Books

 BLM Protestors Scream Anti-Gay Remarks

Apparently, there was an issue between a BLM protestor and a Guardian Angel in NYC, and it involved anti-gay slurs.

But this is really one of those articles where you have to read the whole thing in order to fully get it.

A Black Lives Matter protester was seen confronting a member of the Guardian Angels and making anti-gay remarks in New York City near a protest over three tourists who were arrested and charged last week following a fight regarding proof o...

Joy Reid's Homophobic Commentary Revisited So We Never Ever Forget, Ryan Field Books

Joy Reid's Homophobic Commentary Revisited So We Never Ever Forget

MSNBC's Joy Reid started to trend again this week and I thought it was important to remind people that she was once in the middle of a homophobic controversy. With so many hypocrites out there, and so little support for anything LGBTQ, I think we need to revisit certain topics every so often so no one ever forgets.

The homophobia happened in old blog posts and in Tweets. This is typical straight privilege.

Tweets have resurfaced f...

St. Johns County Students Yell Anti-Gay Slurs At Classmates, Ryan Field Books

St. Johns County Students Yell Anti-Gay Slurs At Classmates

Here's another one of those homophobic stories from Florida. It seems to happen a great deal down there.

A troubling series of videos posted to social media this week appears to show a group of students hurling hate speech at other students at a St. Johns County high school.

Here's the link for more. People were saying it was "scary" and "shocking" to hear the kind of slurs they were screaming. It was all recorded and you can see the vid...

Tammy Faye Bakker As a Gay Icon?, Ryan Field Books

Tammy Faye Bakker As a Gay Icon?

First, I always like to make the distinction that this does not include all gay men. I don't have icons. I don't like Judy Garland, Liza Minnelli, or Barbra Streisand. In fact, I don't even know WTF a gay icon is. I find the entire concept annoying. The whole idea of a gay icon is a stereotype that is just as bad as any stereotype with any other marginalized group. And I wish they would stop doing it.

With that said, they are now claiming that Tammy Faye Bakker wa...

Simu Liu Allegedly Compares Being Gay to Pedophilia, Ryan Field Books

Simu Liu Allegedly Compares Being Gay to Pedophilia

For those who don't know, Simu Liu is that actor who played in the TV show Kim's Convenience and he gained most of his notoriety there. I think Kim's Convenience is still on Netflix. Overall, the show is good.  But it was every other actor on the show that made it good, not Simu Liu.

There were some great actors on Kim's Convenience, but Simu Liu was not one of them. He basically got by with his looks and his body, but he couldn't act if his li...

I Read About "Pascal's Wager" in Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy's Released Documents, Ryan Field Books

I Read About "Pascal's Wager" in Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy's Released Documents

The moment the scared JBK documents were revealed to the public after all those years I had to read them. They are a series of questions and answers between newly widowed JBK and Arthur Schlesinger that were not released to the public until fairly recently.  I didn't listen to the tapes. I thought I could gain more by reading the actual transcripts, so I bought the e-book. They were fascinating, from a historic POV ...

First Openly Gay Governor Marries Long Time Partner, Ryan Field Book

First Openly Gay Governor Marries Long Time Partner

Here's another first for gay people and for the US.

Polis, who was elected in 2018, was married in a traditional Jewish ceremony to the state’s first gentleman Marlon Reis — his partner of 18 years, according to a statement from the governor’s office. Rabbi Tirzah Firestone officiated, and all guests were required to test negative for COVID-19.

Here's link for more information. It goes into more back story about their personal lives, including t...
