Levi Johnston's New Life...

I've posted a few times about Levi Johnston before, so I figured I may as well post
It seems Levi and his new girlfriend, Sunny Oglesby, are planning to have a child. Both sound serious about this, and both seem to be in love. It looks like the real thing to me, and I hope...

Reviewing Anthologies...

In this post, I'm speaking as a reader. Over the years I've been part of more anthologies than I can count off hand. From college reviews to LGBT presses to e-publishers, I can't say I've ever read a scathing review about an anthology I've been part of either. I just wanted to clarify this so no one gets the impression I'm harping about my own reviews. I'd also like to mention that I rarely rate or review anthologies because it makes me feel uncomfortable. But, as a reader, I really do depend...

Changing the World: President Obama Supports Gay Marriage

I rarely post two things like this in a row, especially politically oriented. But today the President made history once again, and with the kind of magnitude we don't see often in our lifetimes. I think it's important to make that clear. Because what Obama did today could almost be related to what it's like to come out of the closet. By openly supporting gay marriage, there's no turning back now. Once it's out there, it's there for good. For a politician to do this in an election year truly d...

North Carolina Ban on Same Sex Marriage...

This morning I turned on the TV while having coffee and Fox News came on. Gretchen Carlson said something to the effect of this: "North Carolina votes to protect the sanctity of marriage."

I looked at Tony and smiled. "So she's talking about the same 'sanctity of marriage' that applies to all the straight couples we know. You know, the couples who have been divorced two and three times. She's not talking about the gay couples we know who have been together for twenty and thirty years and plan...

It Could Happen To You..DON'T LET IT HAPPEN

When I saw this video on youtube, I felt just like everyone else. It's sad, it's heartbreaking, and it's reality for gay couples.

But I want to make this clear: It doesn't have to happen to you. I know this from personal experience. It's not hearsay or hype. Tony was hospitalized five years ago, near death. We own businesses together and property. He has a large family, so do I. What happened in this video could have happened to us...to me especially.

But it didn't. Because we went to an attor...

Bradford Graves Sculpture Park, Kerhonkson, NY, Opens

When I was in college, at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Florham-Madison, I was an English major. However, I tried to concentrate a good deal of my electives in the fine arts or in theater. I wound up with a minor in fine arts, plus fifty extra credits I didn't even need to graduate. I loved every minute of it and nothing was wasted. I owned an art gallery for ten years and represented many different artists during that time, most of whom were post-modernists.

Some of my fondest moments in co...

Tampon Ad: Seriously "Awesome" Link?

I had a completely different post in mind for today. But a friend sent me a link and I decided to post about this instead.

I'll be honest. I'm not always big on "awesome." Most of the time what I see being called awesome is anything but awesome.

And, for the record, not everyone thinks what I'm linking to is awesome, considering the fact that it's a tampon ad for Johnson and Johnson. Click this link after you've clicked the "awesome" link below to get a better understanding of what it's all ab...

Guest Post: A FREE E-book and Kickstarter Project by Cecilia Tan...LGBTQ Story, "Daron's Guitar Chronicles"

When Cecilia Tan asked if I'd let her do a guest post, I was more than interested in not only posting it but reading it. Though I don't know much about Kickstarter, I am fascinated with the basic theory behind it, and I am interested in learning more. I've worked with Cecilia before on one...maybe two...anthologies for Ravenous Romance and I've always been very pleased with the end results.

As a gay man, I also find the story she writes about below interesting. You'll see what I mean when you...

Authors and Promotion: Seriously, Who Is This Guy?

Authors are told to promote themselves and their books all the time. It's harder than writing a book and no one really has any set plan on how to promote well. I was recently told to promote more, and in the same breath I was told I was overexposed. What that means I do not know, nor do I care. I smiled and then dismissed it completely. And so far, I haven't found anything concrete to share when it comes to promotion. You just do the best you can with the resources available to you, don't spe...
