The 12 Days of Christmas free e-book event is on over at Allromanceebooks.com, and here's a link where you can check it out. "Chase of a Lifetime" will be the fourth free read on December 14th and 15th, and I'll post a reminder about that again.

My Top Ten Gay Books This Year...
Although I don't review often, I enjoy talking about great LGBT books I've read. Some of the books I've listed in the top ten below were recommended to me. One or two were sent to me. I think I even won one of them in a contest. But for the most part they were chosen by me, and if they weren't the odds are I would have chosen to purchase and read them anyway.
I reviewed some of them and didn't review others. I rated some on GR, but haven't had time...

Authors Like James Patterson Who Release Tons of Books Each Year

After writing a post earlier this week about authors who release tons of books each year in the m/m romance genre, I spotted something interesting in a few places that gets into something I didn't mention in that previous post. So I figured I'd follow up for those who might not be familiar with this sort of thing in publishing. I would imagine most readers aren't. It's not something you see publishers or authors advertise in the NYT. Yet at the same time it's not something new.
In th...

Goodreads Author Quote Feature; My Upcoming Anthology with Loveyoudivine; How Long is a Short Story?

When it comes to Goodreads.com I'm often very clueless about a lot of the features. One, I don't have the time I'd like to have to really get into it. Two, I have this strong belief that Goodreads is more for readers than it is for authors. So what I do know about Goodreads has more to do with me thinking as a reader than an author. In other words, unless I'm leaving a review, rating, or comment about a book I've read, I let the readers talk about my books and I mind my own business. (Hi...

You'd Better Change Your Twitter Photo Header

If you have a Twitter account and you like it to look a certain way, you'd better get there tonight. Because according to this article Twitter will change it for you by December the 12th and you're not going to like the way it looks.
“Twitter started rolling out its Facebook-a-like header photos to profiles back in September, and users who haven’t yet implemented this new functionality have until tomorrow (December 12th) to upload a suitable image. Otherwise, Twitter is going to force the...

Matt Bomer on TV's "The New Normal"

I can't seem to find an exact date for when openly gay actor Matt Bomer will guest star on "The New Normal," but I've read it's going to be the last episode. I hope it hasn't already aired. My viewing habits with TNN are sporadic these days, and I've posted why a few times about this in the past. This link will show you why I've haven't been following it regularly.
In other words, I'm still on the fence about it. And the main reason is that I don't think it always represents all gay men the w...

David Kirby on His Deathbed
A straight friend of mine sent me this link to a photo and an article about David Kirby, a young man dying with AIDS in 1990. While it's not shocking to me because I've been through it and seen it all before, it might be to some so you might want to think twice before clicking this link.
I can't post the photo here for copyright reasons, but here's part of the article where you can see the photo.

More Male Full Frontal Nudity: "Shame" with Michael Fassbender

I swear I don't go looking for these films, but I stumbled across the movie "Shame" last night, with Michael Fassbender, on one of the cable channels and found another male full frontal nude scene. And because male full frontal has always been so taboo I figured I'd post one more time about it.
The plot of "Shame" revolves around sex addiction, which I write about to a certain extent in my upcoming book "The Wall Street Shark." But because I've also read there's controversy about se...

Josh and Brent Win Amazing Race Million Dollar Prize
Let's here it for the gay team, because Josh and Brent,
The Fabulous Beekman Boys
, just won this season's million dollar grand prize on The Amazing Race.
I've been following this show since it started, but this season I'd fallen behind because Josh and Brent were on and I wanted to see more of them and I wasn't seeing more of them. So I lost interest and just started fast forwarding the DVR for Josh and Brent scenes.
But I had a feeling they'd win in spite of the lack of coverage they got on t...

Do Some Authors Release Too Many Books Each Year?

I read an interesting blog post recently that sounded as though the blogger was complaining that there are too many m/m romance books released by some authors over the course of a year. It was worded with care, but very passive aggressive. And I can't say I wasn't stunned. I walked away with the feeling that this author/blogger is judging those who may be slightly more prolific than others.
It's a flawed theory at best, to say there are authors writing too many books...
