Gay Porn and Johnny Hazzard; The Lazy Beagle for Authors and Readers

Thanks to social media, I found a fascinating article written by gay porn star known as Johnny Hazzard. From the way it appears, he's written the article as Frankie Valenti. The post to which I'm linking does contain adult material, so you've been warned. The photo above is not Hazzard it's from wiki commons. I don't like to post photos unless I have permission or I know it's safe.

A good deal of the article gets into how Hazzard has managed to survive in the adult entertainment industr...

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Self-Censors Sex Scenes

Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt is making (and starring in) a film titled Don Jon and the way he's self-censored a few of the sex scenes in the film has been getting a lot of attention. Although no one has gone into any great detail about this, and it's hard to really grasp what they consider graphic sex scenes from the limited information out there, Gordon-Levitt stated he's cutting the sex scenes so the film can get an R-rating in the US.

BERLIN – Joseph Gordon-Levitt will cu...

Rock Hudson Alleged Gay Confession; Barry Eisler on .99 E-books

Evidently, there's new information about an alleged gay confession from Rock Hudson. This alleged confession was something Hudson told his wife at the time, Phyllis Gates. This is from Huff Po.

Back in 1958, Hudson's wife, Phyllis Gates, confronted the Hollywood legend about being gay , according to The Hollywood Reporter. That confrontation was secretly tape-recorded by Detective Fred Otash, a private eye who had dirt on everyone from Marilyn Monroe to Judy Garland. Gates had hired him t...

"New Adult One" by M/M Author Bella Stanberry: The Women Who Love to Love Gay Romance

I've been juggling my workload this week, and one thing I've been working on is the upcoming anthology I'm indie publishing, The Women Who Love to Love Gay Romance, with three short stories by Bella Stanberry. She did something interesting for this anthology. Instead of one short story, she submitted three stories...all with slightly different titles...as a trilogy of shorts. The first story begins the trilogy, and the final story which ends the trilogy is filled with the kind...

Emile Hirsch Full Frontal Nudity; Full Frontal Japan; Free Excerpt Internal Desires

It's Friday and I like to keep it lighter on weekends, so here are a few more links about full frontal nudity in films and some info on actor Emile Hirsch's full frontal nudity. I've been focusing on this for a variety of reasons, one of which has to do with the double standards in the movie industry between men and women.

This article/post talks about Emile Hirsch where he discusses doing nude scenes in films.

He needn’t worry. Hirsch may have played a horndog teen in love with...

Michelle Obama's Response to Gay Protester; Hillary Clinton Supports Gay Marriage

First Lady Michelle Obama's response to a gay protester who heckled her during a Democratic fundraiser was reported in many different ways today, and I've been inundated with e-mails from friends in the LGBT community about it.

Obama was 12 minutes into a planned 20-minute speech at a couple’s home when a woman standing at the front of the small crowd interrupted, demanding that President Barack Obama sign an executive order on gay rights.

“One of the things I don’t do well is this,” the...

Google Beats Apple; Win Internship with Joel Stein; Researching Agents

When compared to other Internet giants, Google seems to be the number one choice these days. According to this article, they beat out Apple, Amazon, and even Facebook.

A new poll by Washington Post-ABC News says that Google beats out Apple and Facebook when it comes to consumer sentiment. Eighty-five percent of American adults have a “favorable” view of Google compared to 72 percent for Apple and only 60 percent for Facebook. Apple dropped significantly with users under the age of 30 over the...

Large Breasts, Proms, Rape Culture; Win Free Kindles

When I came across an article yesterday about a young woman with large breasts who was not allowed to attend her prom, I had just finished working on edits for an upcoming indie I'm releasing this month that mentions rape culture. These two topics don't usually go hand in hand in m/m romance, but I worked them into the storyline in a way that shows how one young man finds out how young women are often treated and victimized in our society. And it happens in an unlikely way sometimes.

The...

John Irving Wins Lambda Award: Actor Learning to Love; Week's Bestselling Indies

(Update: Lambda finally posted winners here. )

(Update II: This may be insignificant, but I think it's interesting to note that several Lethe Press books won in several categories. The reason why it's interesting is because owner of Lethe Press, Steve Berman, went on an epic rant about the LLF and the Lambda awards not too long ago. You can read about that here. I'll bet you won't read THAT update anywhere else online today.)

In order to find out the winners of the 2013 Lam...
