New Release Today: Internal Desires

I'm late to the blog today because it's Sunday and I had like ten million things to do around the house I never get a chance to do during the week. I keep telling Tony that town house life is looking better and better to me these days.
In any event, my new novella Internal Desires is up on Amazon. You can check it out here at this link. It's a .99 e-book and it's part of the lending program KDP select. This means readers that are part of the lending program will get a chance to do this:
What i...

Four Steps to Writing Book Reviews
Four Steps to Writing Book Reviews
I have never made any great claim to being a book reviewer. I may have a lot of published books out but I'm still an amateur as far as reviewing books goes, and I always will be. My main issue when writing a review is that I'm usually worried about giving out spoilers to those who haven't read the book.
So when I came across this article that gives four steps to writing book reviews I figured I would share for anyone else who has ever felt intim...

New Adult/MM Romance by Bella Stanberry

What I love most about a submission I received for The Women Who Love to Love Gay Romance from author Bella Stanberry is that it has a new adult focus combined with m/m romance elements. I hadn't specifically asked for that in the call for submissions, but when I started reading it I fell in love on page one.
In fact, I loved it so much I contacted this author and asked if she would be willing to submit three short stories to make the first story part of a small trilogy. And she not only...

Self-publishing: ISBN Numbers Vs ASIN Numbers
I've seen a lot of information on the Internet lately about what authors need for self-publishing, and one topic that never ceases to interest me are ISBN numbers and ASIN numbers. Up until I self-pubbed my first book, Chase of a Lifetime, I didn't know the difference. My publishers took care of all this and the ISBN numbers appeared magically. At the time, I didn't give it a second thought.
But there are a few things you need to understand if you are looking into self-publishing.

Ryan Field App; Larry Flynt: Republicans Are Racist

This morning Tony surprised me with something...get your minds out of the gutter...that I didn't expect. I now have an App for android that links to this blog: Ryan Field Naughty Guys with Strong Stories. I think the image on the App will be my latest release, Internal Desires.
It's also an interesting web site to create an App for almost anything. I'm not sure how this works with iPhone or iPad, but there shouldn't be any issues if you have an android.
You can get there from h...

Internal Desires; Nude Channing Tatum; Jane Lynch Gay Divorce

Here's my new book cover for the upcoming release, Internal Desires. This one is another indie, it's a long short story that runs 13,000 words, and it will be a .99 e-book and I've opted into the kindle select program for the next three months. What that means is I will have a three month exclusive with Amazon because this is a lending program. I hate the exclusive as a writer, but I love the lending program as a reader, and if you don't have a kindle app and you're not part of the program as...

The Women Who Love to Love Gay Romance Anthology
This is one of those posts I write to keep track of my thoughts...in true fashion of a journal, which is what personal blogging was always intended to be in the first place. Although I veer off track sometimes and post about many things, I do like to keep certain posts for my own thoughts.
When I first thought about editing and publishing a book of short stories about women who love to love gay romance, I wasn't sure how it would play out. Would anyone be interested in submitting a story to a...

Facebook Stock Down; Porn Star in Where We Belong; Obama and The New Normal
On Tuesday, Mark Zuckerberg had to deal with questions from aggressive stockholders about why facebook's stock isn't what he'd promised it would be by now. Facebook is free to millions of users and based on ad revenue, like most social media.
"We're disappointed with the performance of the stock over the last year," Mr. Zuckerberg said. "We expect there's going to be fluctuations."
Mr. Zuckerberg also defended the company's business model and several of its recent decisions, such as chang...

When E-Publishers Go Out of Business?
When e-publishers go out of business it can be very upsetting to authors and readers, especially on an emotional level. Authors who work with e-publishers almost always have good experiences and they become both loyal and attached. Sometimes we even get blasted because we're so loyal to our small e-publishers. But you just can't help becoming emotionally attached to the people you've been working with for years. Even though you may never meet many of these people in person, you still can...

Keanu Reeves at Cannes; New F Word; Self-Publishing Tips

Evidently, Keanu Reeves made headlines at Cannes when he arrived looking slightly different than usual. If you do a simple search you'd be amazed at what you come up with. The article I'm linking to is the only one that said basically what I think about all this.
He arrived at the Cannes Film Festival looking less than stellar, and suddenly he's getting treated worse than Kim Kardashian by the media. ("Keanu Reeves Looks Bloated at Cannes Film Festival" is a real headline that came up when I...
