J.K. Rowling and Full Blog Disclosure; Fifty Gay Things

J.K. Rowling and Full Blog Disclosure

There has been a great deal written this week about J.K. Rowling's pen name, Robert Galbraith, and I read a piece last night that made me think about all authors and bloggers when it comes to full disclosure. Of course in Rowling's case it's a little different because she's so famous for the Harry Potter series, however, authors using pen names isn't something new and it's usually accepted when authors cross genres. But what about popular bloggers? Do...

New Bad Boy Billionaire Release July 26th; Silicon Valley Sex Scandal

New Bad Boy Billionaire Release July 26th; Silicon Valley Sex Scandal

Right now I'm actually working on the last book in the Bad Boy Billionaire series, "Small Town Romance Writer," which is running way over word count and will probably wind up being close to 100,000 words this time. I hate giving a word count to any book because most of the time the characters usually drive me as much as I drive them through the storyline. And in this book, which covers a span of about twenty years, I didn't...

Kirstie Alley's in a Snit; Routines and Success; Dogs Make You Happy

Kirstie Alley's in a Snit

And the reason she's so upset is because Leah Remini (the wife on King of Queens sitcom) broke away from the church/worship of Kirstie Alley's particular choice: Scientology. You can check out this link to see how Kirstie Alley responded on twitter. I follow her on my twitter feed, and compared to other tweets this is the least of her rants, on all topics. She's very entertaining.

Last week, news first broke that Remini quit Scientology following years of interrogatio...

When Small E-publishers Fold Up; Queen Approves Gay Marriage; Jonathan Franzen Sighting

Queen Approves Gay Marriage

Now that Queen Elizabeth II has officially approved it, gay marriage is now legal in Britain. I'm not sure how British law works, but evidently things like this need royal stamp of approval in order to be official. And since I've always had absolute respect for Queen II, I couldn't be more thrilled about this for all LGBT people in the UK.

House of Commons Speaker John Bercow told lawmakers that the royal assent had been given Wednesday – the day after the bill...

Ender's Game Boycott Continues; Orson Scott Card

According to this piece, the Ender's Game boycott continues, thanks to what can be attributed to highly anti-gay author, Orson Scott Card, whom I've posted about before.

From mediabistro, where the studio stated this, as if it's going to make it better:

As proud longtime supporters of the LGBT community, champions of films ranging from Gods and Monsters to The Perks of Being a Wallflower and a company that is proud to have recognized same-sex unions and domestic partnerships within its emp...

Literary Agent For Zimmerman Juror; J.K. Rowling Sales Soar

Lit Agent for Zimmerman Juror

There was buzz circulating recently where one of the six jurors from the Zimmerman trial allegedly signed with a literary agent and was working on a book deal. The book was supposed to explain the verdict and discuss why the jury found George Zimmerman not guilty of murdering Trayvon Martin after an altercation that ended in Trayvon Martin's death.

The juror did not spell out the reasons for her change of heart but said her isolation in the jury room meant sh...

J.K. Rowling Reveals Secret Pen Name; Indiana Gay Marriage Myths

J.K. Rowling Reveals Secret Pen Name

This morning I read that J.K. Rowling's secret pen name, Robert Galbraith, was revealed. Rowling, AKA Robert Galbraith, wrote a mystery crime novel titled, The Cuckoo's Calling.

In top-secret fashion, she published "The Cuckoo's Calling" under the name Robert Galbraith. Her publisher, Mulholland Books -- an imprint of Little, Brown and Company -- described the author as a former member of the Special Investigative Branch of the Royal Military Police.

"He...

Emotional Weekend: Cory Monteith; Trayvon Martin; Gay Racism

This weekend I haven't had time to post much because I've been out of the office, but two very significant events happened yesterday that I've been thinking about all day today. Although both events are totally unrelated, two young men who had families and loved ones were taken away from this earth far too early, and we'll never again get to experience the talents Cory Monteith had to share, or the talents Trayvon Martin might have had to share with the world. From what I've seen on...

Joey Stefano Movie; Free Gay Story by Max Vos

Joey Stefano Movie

I've posted a few times about the late adult entertainment star, Joey Stefano. Here's one. Here's another.

The other night I was talking with friends about someone I once knew, Joey Stefano. He was a very high profile gay porn star in the 1990's who never expected to be as famous as he was. We were only two years apart in age and we both frequented a lot of the same clubs in the early 1990's in the Philadelphia area. Because I was two years younger, he always seemed protecti...

Bad Boy Billionaires: Cowboy in Love

Bad Boy Billionaires: Cowboy in Love

This is the next book in the Bay Boy Billionaire series, and I placed the main character, Bailey, in a unique situation this time. Bailey lost his partner one year earlier and he's still grieving, to the point where he actually has imaginary conversations with him when no one else is around. At least that's what Bailey thinks. His daughter catches him talking to no one a few times and she starts to worry about him. And then his sister co...
