GM Benefits to Gay Spouses; December Book Releases Are Bad?
GM Benefits to Gay Spouses
With all the vituperative discussions going on right now about anything LGBT related in some circles, General Motors has gone in the opposite direction and announced it will begin offering marriage benefits to gay couples whether they live in states where marriage is legal right now or not. This includes pensions, savings, and health care.
“This decision is in line with GM’s efforts to find, keep and grow the world’s best talent and to offer our employees p...

Ryan Sheckler My Ink
Something I rarely mention here is that I've always been a huge fan of skateboarding, and one of the most talented and ambitious skateboarders today is Ryan Sheckler. And now Sheckler has an AOL series called, "My Ink," ...link below. Just trust me on this. It's worth watching.
Ask any skateboarder on the planet who Ryan Sheckler is and you're sure to get an out-of-this-world answer. A child prodigy turned professional skateboarder, world-renowned athlete,...

A New Anti-Piracy Chip
At first, I wasn't so sure about this. But when I read further it grew more interesting with each sentence. It seems that a group of cable industry veterans have come up with what might become a viable solution for halting piracy of all digital content. They were granted the patent and it's supposedly going to be inexpensive and easy to understand. And each user will be able to control his/her level of security, which, again, could help put an end to piracy altogether fr...

JFK's Lincoln; James Franco Gay Interest
JFK's Lincoln
Every year around this time President John F. Kennedy's legacy begins to circulate in the media because he was shot and killed on November 22, 1963. And this year marks the 50th anniversary of his death. Most of what's been printed or filmed has made the rounds so many times it's ingrained in the heads of almost every American who is over thirty years old. But this next article about the Lincoln Continental Limousine in which Kennedy was killed has a few interesting facts I'...

Gay Marriage Illinois; Christian Filibuster in Hawaii on Gay Marriage
Gay Marriage Illinois
In a narrow vote in Illinois, gay marriage will now become legal. It's the 15th state so far, and more are working toward that goal. The opposition, Rep. Tom Morrison, stated "natural marriage" between a man and woman was the only way to go for him. Then he questioned why the state would care about these matters, and even went on to comment that "Real marriage is the building block of human civilization." I guess he hasn't realized yet that his cousin, son, daughter, neph...

Male Full Frontal Nudity TV
I think I once posted about a parody a group of women put together about the lack of male full frontal nudity in TV...and the double standard. It was entertaining and spot on.
“For every topless background extra, every actress that bears her bouncies but doesn’t even get a line, every minute we have to sit through this dumb double standard, you owe us an inch of grade-A man meat.”
Remember how I recently posted about a film titled, Unhung Hero, and we never got to se...

Actors Anonymous by James Franco
After posting about Actors Anonymous by James Franco almost a month ago, I did buy it (on Kindle for iPad in digital) and I finally had some spare time (in between reading for the Rainbow Awards as juror) to get halfway through it. So this is only a partial review of sorts, and only because I think it's worth discussing from a literary POV.
I'm not going to get into a full review halfway through the book because I think that would be an injustice...

Blog Photos, Disclaimers, Infringement
I think I posted about this a few times in the past, but I'm adding other links now, too. I recently came across a new blog that uses photos of men and they had a disclaimer at the bottom of the blog that stated they aren't doing anything for profit and they will take down any photo that might be an infringement. However, even though their intentions are honorable and they aren't actively trying to infringe, by using photos without permission that's...

Unhung Hero: Film Review
Unhung Hero: Film Review
I don't usually write film reviews here, but this one is different because of the topic. As the title suggests, Unhung Hero is a documentary...self-proclaimed as a cockumentary...directed by Brian Spitz, starring Patrick Moot, that discusses men who are not well-endowed. The title is parody. But the film itself documents a young man's quest for answers after he proposes marriage in a public arena in front of thousands of people and the young woman turns him down becaus...

How to Write a Novel
I don't usually post about non-fic books like this, but I'm doing it this time partly because there aren't many good books out there like it and partly because it's a self-published book authored by former literary agent, Nathan Bransford. Bransford is also a long time blogger and the author of a middle grade book series, and the unusual thing about his blog is that it has continued to be just as popular even after he decided to pursue a professional writing career an...
