Matt Bomer for Fifty Shades? Erotica Author Petition; Greg Louganis Gets Married

Matt Bomer for Fifty Shades

I know my author and social media friends aren't interested in this, but my blog readers love it and I have to post about it as a blogger. In an unusual turn this past weekend, Charlie Hunnam made it clear he's not playing Christian in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey. He blamed his heavy TV schedule, but sources are reporting it might go deeper than that.

I posted about Hunnam getting the part, officially, here. I've also been following the story for a w...

Ryan Field on Allromanceebooks.com

Ryan Field on Allromanceebooks.com

Here's another batch of e-books that just went up on Allromanceebooks.com. I decided to release them slower on ARe because when you release back listed books...even if they are .99 e-books...you wind up taking over the entire new release page at one time and I don't want to step on anyone's toes so to speak. So for now, this is the next small batch of five. And, for the record, none of these e-books contain any of the following elements.

Anythi...

Aide Fired; Insinuates Corey Booker's Gay; Amazon Ban Internal Desires

Aide Fired; Insinuates Cory Booker's Gay

A media consultant for Steve Lonegan was fired recently for insinuating that Lonegan's opponent, Cory Booker, is gay. I've been following this senate race in New Jersey for a while, and I've posted a few times about Corey Booker and the questions about his sexuality, including the publicity he received when he started tweeting a female stripper who refers to herself as "stripper model weirdo." I know this sounds like junior high, but I swear I'm not mak...

Is Amazon Banning Gay Content Now?

Is Amazon Banning Gay Content Now?

I posted about an indie novella I published on Amazon a few months ago, here. It's titled Internal Desires, it's gay erotic romance, and it was set in the l960's. Although this isn't the first time I've had a book banned for tech reasons (search tags, etc...), it is the first time I've had a book banned for no specific reason. Below is the e-mail from Amazon, verbatim. As you can see from the cover image above, this doesn't make sense, because if th...

Actors Anonymous by James Franco; MSNBC Slams Fox Ratings

Actors Anonymous by James Franco

James Franco's new novel is being released on October 15th and I thought I would post about it because I've read his work before and it's surprisingly excellent. I've read many non-fic books by those in the entertainment industry and they aren't always great...or anything like they were promoted to be. In Franco's case I haven't been disappointed. But more than that, I never feel as if I've been ripped off as a reader.

I also love something he did on Amazon (or...

My Releases on Allromanceebooks.com; FREE Excerpt Sheriff and Outlaw

My Releases on Allromanceebooks.com

As I've posted previously, getting back listed books up on web sites where digital books are sold is not as simple as it sounds...especially if the back list is long. We finally put up most of the former loveyoudivine.com titles on ARe, and here's a list of those that went live today.

Babycakes

Another Regular Bud (Sequel to "A Regular Bud")

A Young Widow's Promise (This was originally published under "R. Field" because it's not gay fiction and the p...

Coming Out Day 25th Year; Fake Paid Reviews; NJ Gay Marriage

Coming Out Day 25th Year

This is the 25th anniversary of National Coming Out Day. And while I'm not a fan of forcing anyone to come out as a form of peer pressure just because there's a day set aside to come out, I do think it sends a positive message to those who are thinking about coming out. It's a different process for every LGBT person, and how they do it should be up to them, and should be done on their own terms. The article to which I'm linking below has photos of LGBT s...

Review: Docudrama House of Versace by David Aria

Review: Docudrama House of Versace by David Aria

I read a book review by David Aria on Goodreads.com a few weeks ago and really liked his style. So I contacted him and asked if he would be willing to write a guest post every now and then on pop culture or books...on any topic he wanted, with tie-ins to gay culture. This one talks about the docudrama, House of Versace. It's interesting to read a gay man's POV for a change, especially when it comes to gay culture. And I'm going to make a po...

Gay Bombing in Atlanta by Jon Michaelsen

Gay Bombing in Atlanta by Jon Michaelsen

It's gay history month, and I've been reading a lot about the more publicized events and people that made history and helped shape gay culture, but I've also been looking for some of the less publicized events as well...things we don't hear about as often but were just as significant. And in this essay by gay author, Jon Michaelsen, I found something I didn't know. And it sets the stage for a lot of the fear and PTSD many gay people have learn...

Bradley Cooper No Tongue; #Spirit Day; NOM Against Gays in Russia

Bradley Cooper No Tongue

This article is a little dated, but I keep google alerts for certain topics and this one popped up with something else and I thought it was interesting. Evidently, in a kiss scene from Sex in the City with Sarah Jessica Parker, Cooper was told no tongue kissing because SJP doesn't do that.

"And then right before we shot the scene, this guy came up and I think he said, 'SJP does no tongue. No tongue, man'. And I was like, 'Who's SJP?' So she kisses me, then straddl...
