The Latest Recommendation from Lees Bookshelf Love Talk

The Latest Book Recommendation from Lees Bookshelf Love Talk by Drs. Les and Leslie Parrott. I featured this book as an additional resource in my new book Captured by Love, and hope that youll check it out. Les is a clinical psychologist; Leslie is a marriage and family therapist; and both have many years teaching in this field.

Together, their writings and workshops have had a huge impact on couples. This book focuses on building strong relationships through healthy and vulnerable communications. They make it simple and give lots of exercises to help you connect with each others heart to grow closer. In the process each person becomes more healthy and secure, which builds the foundation for a couple to truly be captured by love.

Additionally, Les and Leslie have developed an extremely helpful website called loveology.org that has short videos in which some of the most famous love and marriage experts answer questions. Its one of the best resources available for couples and families. Its simple to use, questions are organized by category and subject, and when you pick one, youll get a lot of insight in two to three minutes.

Learn more about this book on Goodreads. And if youve read this book, please post your comments below

A Surprise Reunion from Vietnam

I had a surprise reunion recently with these two special people, Sy and Nga. They grew up in the southern part of North Vietnam, where we were bombing everyday during the Vietnam War. During this time in 1965-1967, she was not born yet, and he was 5-7 years old. They also lived very close to where I was shot down and captured as a POW. Since that time, they have hosted former pilots who flew in Vietnam.

They are wonderful people and so glad that we have connected years later.

Leadership History Lesson for October 22nd

On this day in leadership history in 1844, this day is recognized as “The Great Disappointment” among those who practiced Millerism. The world was expected to come to an end according to the followers of William Miller.

Whats the leadership lesson? Be careful who you follow, and vet them well.

River Rats Reunion Video Clip

Last weekend, I made my singing debut at the River Rat Fighter Pilot 50th Real Reunion (RRVA) Banquet with the Ladies for Liberty. They were singing Happy Trails to you which was the song the Sons of the Pioneers sang at the Apple Valley Inn when I lived in Apple Valley in 1966-67. Roy Rogers and Dale lived just down the street from the Apple Valley Inn and made this song famous.

Leadership History Lesson for October15th

On this day in leadership history in 1860, Grace Bedell, 11 years old, wrote a letter to presidential candidate Abraham Lincoln. The letter stated that Lincoln would look better if he would grow a beard.

Whats the leadership lesson? Never underestimate the positive influence that you can have on your leader!
