“When commitment-phobe Rob Marino (Lawrence) breaks up with his girlfriend before Thanksgiving, he is criticized by his big Italian family about his inability to keep a relationship through the holidays. Wanting to prove them wrong and fulfill his dying grandmother’s (Paula Shaw, “Mr. Young”) wish to see him happy in love, Rob goes online and finds Julie (Hampshire), another single New Yorker who’s meddling Jewish mom (Marilu Henner), has driven her to seek a temporary boyfriend. Rob and Julie agree to pose as a couple through the holidays to get their families off their backs. But things get complicated when Rob’s Catholic clan and Julie’s Jewish family get involved. With Christmas coming and Hanukkah around the corner, they double their efforts to keep the charade going, only to discover their fake feelings may be a little too real.”

Chicago Sun Times article…by Marilu Henner

Marilu shares some of her best holiday advice in this article from The Chicago Sun Times.  While Marilu donated her fee for writing this column to The Physician’s Committee for Responsible Medicine we can ALL benefit from the information contained within.  Even if you stayed within the guidelines of a plant based diet you may have gone a little wild with the carb fest.  Did you lose sight of portion control or your exercise routine?

On Your Feet

It’s pretty easy to lose your momentum on a holiday weekend.  There’s an abundance of  food, your routine has changed and you might be spending time with people you haven’t seen in a while.  You’re not going to give that up to go the gym.

 

Here’s a reminder.  You CAN build in extra time for a workout, or build the workout into your visit.  Take a walk.  Park at the far end of the parking lot.  Get up a little early and do some stretching before you start your day.  It will set your whole day up for success !
