Project X: new novel

Stay tuned for exciting news about Project X. I'm posting this bit only because I had to post a technorati claim token (geesh!) and want to bury that silliness... And now back to what I'm supposed to be doing: WRITING!

Technorati Claim Token

Excuse this absurd interruption in the flow of my new blog. As a neophyte blogger, I'm struggling to figure out the weird new world of information flow. Apparently, to "claim by blog" at Technorati, I must post a "claim token" in the actual blog. So here it, TECHNORATI DUDES AND DUDETTES (for I assume there must be at least one Dudette there):

For all I know, this may not work. There are no guidelines.

Word Count Meters

I'm fascinated by word count meters on blogs. I put myself under enough stress, worrying about word count. If I were to publicly track my progress, my stress level would fly up to 100% and my actual daily word count would plummet to 0%.

I wonder how people handle their meters when they edit 5,000 words out of a novel. Do they reduce the progress count on the public meter?

I just received the cover of vampire horror novel BLOOD AND ICE , and it's gorgeous! I'm currently slaving away on this novel, working toward a June 1 deadline.
