Welcome!
A big howdy and welcome to everyone – both new readers and longtime fans. In these crazy times, I hope you and your family are staying safe, sane and healthy!
After a long hiatus, I’m thrilled to report a number of books are coming out the next few months, both Regency and contemporary.
Back in 2016, when I started finishing a couple things, I heard it’d be a good idea to save them up a...

Sexy Historical Romance Lady Scandal
Sexy historical romance Lady Scandal releases today! First time in paperback.
Lady Scandal 2nd Edition CoverWhile written in a more “traditional Regency” style of voice (meaning it doesn’t sound like a modern story simply plopped in the past), Lady Scandal is a fun, lighthearted sexy romp much closer to Historical Romance in tone and sexual content than it is what most folks mean when they refer to a traditional Regency.
With the exception of a few authors who include sex scenes on the page–the...

Miss Isabella Available in Large Print
After wanting to do a Large-Print edition for years, I’m tickled to announce that my best-reviewed book to date, Miss Isabella Thaws a Frosty Lord, will be coming out in large print next month. Just in time to celebrate Christmas in July.

Lady Scandal available for Pre-order
After years and years of no activity on the publishing front (regardless of how much activity has been going on in the background on the writing front), I’m thrilled to announce that Lady Scandal, my very first self-published release ever, has gotten a lovely makeover–complete with gorgeous new cover, thank you Victoria Cooper!–and is also coming out in print for the first time!

Flower Essences
I sit here staring at a blank screen because every prior attempt to blog has been an abject failure. I struggle with which parts of myself to release into the public/online given a strong and inherent preference for utter privacy. Those who know me sometimes struggle with reconciling the quirky, outgoing (yes, loud) person who’s, in truth, such a strong introvert.
So, in an attempt to be authentic and actually have – hopefully – something of interest to share, I’ll start by talking a bit about a...

Upcoming Books – April 2020
Along with several brand-new books, there’s a new pen name in play: Larissa Lynx for contemporaries. Larissa Lyons for historicals. What? I sound cat crazy? >^..^
I’ve been working toward releasing a number of books ASAP. Several are original, never-before-released novels; a couple are revised, older books.

Story research — Regency boxing
It feels like Homemade Brownie Time whenever I research a topic and instantly get boocoos of usable information. I'm currently working on Mistress by Morning and my hero fancies himself a bit of a pugilist. Actually, there's no fancying about it. He's a great boxer, a strong boxer.
But the thought of making himself vulnerable in the search for a new mistress (he has particular requirements that I'll keep mum for now
) make him feel weak indeed. But in order to authentically write about this t...

Repetition, Thy Skewer Me
As happens with many authors, I find myself using (and overusing) one particular word with each book. Why the word changes from story to story remains a mystery. On one of my published efforts, years ago, it was "before". It took a critique partner to point this out. In only 3 pages, I had used no less than 15 "befores". Eegads! It was almost comical, seeing them all highlighted on the page.
I now spot my repetition myself, usually in the dictating phase (I handwrite everything first). And...
Pride & Prejudice, Popcorn & Chocolate
I get together monthly with a friend for a movie, chocolate and good times. On the agenda for yesterday's "Bond Night":
Part three of the fabulous A&E miniseries production of Pride and Prejudice. Superb acting and scenery. Afterward, I scrounged for my paperback and started thumbing through it again, rereading my favorite parts.
The menu…
