and so, this is my third and final post on

my nyc trip! i started sunday morning with

brunch at five points in noho with an old friend.

(one i've known for over twenty years–who also

came to attend my friend's wedding!)

the view across from the restaurant.

i thought it was interesting–space is so

limited in manhattan.

noho2

arshi told me i must get the churros.

and oh, is it a must. SO SO GOOD. freshly

fried–i skipped on the chocolate dip.

my eggs dish with veggies and cheese

this is how we feel about mondays…

classic

*a classic foto of sweet pea and munchkin.

i think sweet pea is about 19 months here and

munchkin is 2 months. as you can see,

it's the end of the world, and she is deeply

offended. ha! i couldn't tell you whose expression

makes me chuckle more in this foto. =)

short entry, when i should not be posting at all.
back today from a mini getaway just 30 miles from
home at a fancy resort in belated celebration of
the love's birthday. he was suprised (he thought
we were going to seattle, ha!) but had a g...

to discuss her debut, CANDOR. there has

been much buzz about this novel!

top student and the best-behaved teen in town.
Nobody knows he's made his own Messages to
deprogram his brain. But then Nia Silva moves to
Candor, and Oscar falls in love. He must choose

in which cindy can't let go

after my meeting at harpercollins on friday,

i definitely had post publisher moments of

amazement. i am still taken by surprise at

odd moments that i'm a published author.

on the one hand, it's the everyday mundane

business of writing and revising, usually in

my pajamas at a messy dining table, loopy

writer inside her own loopy head. then you're

in nyc meeting the great people who have helped

put your debut on the shelves and it's really

very WHOA and inspiring and humbling all

at once.

as i s...

breaking the bad mojo

i'm back from my stupendous tremendous

visit to nyc! i can't imagine having had a

better trip–except for more time to spend

with my friends and explore the city. but

considering how long i was there, i had a

very full and lovely visit.

last week started badly. i found out i needed
to drive near two hours to the court up in OC
for my speeding ticket. while spending too
many hours on hold to try and understand the
situation, my website got hacked. thankfully,
it didn't seem to be malicious (so we...

Caliban, and into her own. Here he will remain until

she makes three wishes.

Jinn is anxious to get back to Caliban, but Viola is
terrified of wishing, afraid her wishes will be
manipulated into curses. Jinn ...
