Carolyn Haines is the USA Today bestselling author of over 70 books. In 2020, she was inducted into the Alabama Writers Hall of Fame. She was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Alabama Library Association, the Harper Lee Award for Distinguished Writing, the Richard Wright Award for Literary Excellence, as well as the "Best Amateur Sleuth" award by Romantic Times. Born and raised in Mississippi, she now lives in Alabama on a farm with more dogs, cats, and horses than she can possibly keep track of.

On the good side, I have 3 more books coming out this year--Two Sarah Booths (CHARMED BONES in May and A GIFT OF BONES in October) and also BONE-A-FIED TROUBLE, which features Trouble the black cat detective, is slated for November. So...I am writing so much my thumbs are in revolt! But I promise you, the 4th Pluto's Snitch will be worth the wait! I can't wait to start writing it!(less)

This has been a hard month on the farm. My rescue horse, Flicker, has had 3 abscesses in her front hoof. She has Cushings disease and is prone to abscesses, but this has been awful for her and for me. There’s an old farm saying—no hoof, no horse.
