Monthly Reading Wrap-Up: January 2025

Hello everyone,

I realized that I had never posted my Monthly Reading Wrap-Up for December! I'm ashamed mostly because that was the month I read the most in. I am trying to post more and read more this year. So hopefully I will be more active with posting my wrap ups on the last day of each month and a Friday post weekly.

Here's to better beginnings!
- Amy :)
November 6th - January 1st The Blonde Identity
Ally Carter

3.5 out of 5

I'm a little upset by how much I struggled to read this book. I am a huge fan of Ally Carter and have read most of her books. I even have her Embassy Row series at home from Christmas. I will still be reading the sequel to this in hopes that I get more of Zoe and Sutton.
Picture November 7th - January 11th Picture Highly Suspicious & Unfairly Cute
Talia Hibbert

Romance
Enemies to lovers

I don't read much romance. This looked like a cute concept where the main character was far too relatable with her inacceptance that she deserves love.
December 30th - January 11th Perfect Scoundrels
Ally Carter

Book 3 of 3

4.5

We revisit Kat and the gang as the biggest heist happens to someone close to them - Hale. There is so much lying and deception to try and get to the truth. You almost believe it won't happen.

Happy New Year!

Hello everyone,

As cheesy as it might sound, I have resolutions like everyone else. I try to have resolutions for everything in my life: romance, teaching, writing, reading, exercise, and others.

I felt it was healthy and natural for me to share my writing and reading goals with everyone.

Tell me your New Year's resolution that you want to stick with

Monthly Reading Wrap-Up: November 2024

Hello everyone,

My Halloween movie marathon was a bust. However, I have no one to blame but myself. I didn't set the time down to watch the Halloween movies. However, for this month, I will be preparing with two months of Christmas movies. Here's the list of movies we have goals to watch: (Bold indicates that we did watch it)Frosty The SnowmanThe GrinchA Year Without A Santa ClausThe Santa ClauseThe Santa Clause 2The Santa Clause 3ElfDeck The HallNestor The Long-Eared Christmas DonkeyHome AloneHome Alone 2Rudolph The Red-Nosed ReindeerThe Miser's Brothers ChristmasPolar ExpressBarbie & The NutcrackerDeck The HallsThere are more, but we're starting out watching these ones. Do you start celebrating the Holidays in November or December?

- Amy :)
September 17th - November 9th New Moon
Stephenie Meyer

Book 2 of 4

I loved these book series when I was younger! It was great rereading it, but I do think it added unnecessary detail. Picture September 18th - November 15th Picture These Bodies Between Us
Sarah Van Name

I won this in a GoodReads giveaway.

I liked the story and the friendship between the girl. I could have predicted the ending, but it was a campy feeling.
September 18th - November 15th Heist Society
Ally Carter

Book 1 of 3

Reread this as an adult and I still loved it. 4 stars. Picture October 30th - November 17th Picture One of Us Is Back
Karen M. McManus

Book 3 of 3

I loved this series! Surprisingly, it did not fall in quality like most book series do.
October 3rd - November 29th Picture The Best Way To Bury Your Husband
Alexia Casale

I loved the thought out process through this and sided with the wives! I predicted the ending and I thought it was too overdone, but I enjoyed it.

3.5 stars
September 19th - November 30th The Road
Cormac McCarthy

3 stars

I originally had to buy this for a reading class when I was in high school. After rereading it, I appreciate it a lot more than I originally did. It still drives me nuts that there no quotation marks!

Next Project You'll See

Hello everyone,

I have been trying to figure out which project I wanted to introduce to the world! Right now, I am currently working on three simultaneous projects:
Poster series: Book 3 of 3 - This would follow Y/Emily as she navigates prison and tries to navigate figuring out who Emily Washington is.Untitled series: I plan on there being five books. However my editors haven't been the most productive of time. This would follow a group of five friends who each have a personal "demon" that follows them.
Untitled series: I have written about three books to this series already. I have not been confident enough to have it reach the limelight. This is baed on the Hunger Games and every other dystopian novel I have read. I am further along with writing the third untitled series. I am currently self-editing and then sending it off for someone to edit for me. I will need someone to make the cover for me as well, but I already know who I would like to do that.

ABOUT:AssassinsPeople fighting to the death so they can become an assassinPeople who want to be therePeople who don't want to be thereLove interestsSkepticismJealousyRomance?!?!Betrayal
What was your favorite dystopian novel growing up? Let me know below.

Monthly Reading Wrap-Up: October 2024

Hello everyone,

Spooky season is among us! I have been waiting for this fall weather to kick in so I can wear all of my favorite sweaters. My boyfriend and I had a plan to watch some Halloween movies such as: (Bold indicates we watched)Scooby-Doo: The Witch's GhostScooby-Doo: CyberchaseCasper the Friendly GhostHocus PocusHocus Pocus 2TwitchesTwitches TooHalloweentownHalloweentown II: Kalabar's RevengeHalloweentown HighReturn to HalloweentownCoralineCorpse BrideAre there any movies that need to be added to this list? Let me know down below!
- Amy :) October 2nd - October 5th Hate List
Jennifer Brown

5 stars

Contemporary

Reread: 3 times
Picture August 25th - October 20th Picture Butcher & Blackbird
Brynne Weaver

Book 1 of 3

2.5 stars

I will not be reading the sequels. This book is about two serial killers who fall in love. August 25th - October 24th The Last Flight
Julie Clark

5 stars

I won this in a bingo. I loved the two perspectives, although usually I'm not the biggest fan of multiple POV's. Eva's story is always told in the past, while Claire's story is always told in the present.
Picture September 1st - October 25th Picture United We Spy
Ally Carter

Book 6 of 6

Finally! The last book of the series! I absolutely loved this series and I hated seeing it end. I'm glad Preston wasn't just a one-time character and we got to meet Zach's dad. August 25th - October 27th Perfect
Ellen Hopkins

3.5 stars

I reread this one since I could not remember what it was about. The last time I read it was in high school. This book is filled with homophobia and multiple POV's. I constantly confused Kendra and Clara for some reason.

Hello everyone,

Out of all my hobbies, I cannot believe I have never made a post about my other career choice - I am a teacher!

I am currently in my 4th year as a teacher! Time sure does fly! I spent my time at the same school, that I absolutely love, but will keep anonymous. Picture I am certified to teach 4th-6th any content, but 7-8th only math. I currently teach Middle school math (and algebra!) and 6th grade science.

What was your favorite subject in school? Let me know!
