111127st 11 11 27 ANC's Sheeprecy Bill On 22 November 2011, known as Black Tuesday, the lower house of the South African Parliament controlled by the African National Congress (ANC) approved the Protection of State Information Information Bill aka Secrecy Bill in a 229-107 vote. The ANC try to impose a three-line whip - compulsory attendance on its MPs for the vote.Two ANC parliamentarians, Gloria Borman and Ben Turok abstain on the vote against party orders. Turok, who played a big part in the writing of the 1955 Freedom Charter, slipped out of the Assembly as voting time approached.
