Fibber on the Roof
French President Sarkozy overheard telling President Obama that Prime Minister Netanyahu is 'a liar' when microphone accidentally left on after G20 summit press conference. This reflects the world's frustration with Netanyahu's peace efforts.
While Netanyahu maintains that Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East, the Russel Tribunal in Cape Town finds that Israel subjects the Palestinian people to an institutionalised regime of domination amounting to apartheid as defined under international law.

Eskom Fossil Fuel Reliance
Eskom is overwhelming reliant on fossil fuels. Eskom's coal-powered electricity plants are the main source of greenhouse gas emissions by South Africa. While Eskom says it welcomes the protest by Greenpeace activists at its Kusile coal-fired power station saying it too was committed to a cleaner energy future for South Africa. Greenpeace maintain that the building of the Kusilr plant is a climate killer.
