Seeking Mad Men-fan film students!
The co-authors of The Unofficial Mad Men Cookbook seek a volunteer film student (or students) to collaborate on producing three high-quality, short video clips (each to run about 3 minutes) to be used for book publicity, including posting on YouTube, Facebook, and other social media. All work to be done in NYC and will involve shooting at three Mad Men restaurant, hotel and bar locations. Work to be done by mid-November with final product available in early December to coincide with book...
Introducing The Psychology of Twilight
Last season, we did an official introduction post for our Fall 2010 books. This season, we're trying something new: officially announcing our Spring 2011 titles individually, each in their own post. If you've missed any, you can check them all out here.

There are a lot of people who are tired of hearing about Twilight. The feedback our sales folks got from a lot of independent bookstores when they were trying to sell in the book was that vampires aren't really selling anymore– that, even...

Dying for More Vampire Diaries?
So are we. It's finally the day all Vampire Diaries fans have been anticipating since season two ended: the season three premiere. Season two left us, and the contributors to our Vampire Diaries anthology, A Visitor's Guide to Mystic Falls, with a lot of questions and opinions. So to ease your anticipation for tonight, some of our contributors have shared what they thought about season two, and what they hope to see in season three.

The Unofficial Mad Men Cookbook Online
We here at Smart Pop may be the only Mad Men fans in the world that aren't upset that the show's fifth season was delayed until early 2012. Why? Because we—along with authors Judy Gelman and Peter Zheutlin—have been hard at work this year on The Unofficial Mad Men Cookbook, hitting shelves December 2011.
If you're as excited about the book as we are (and as these various news outlets were, when we announced the book back in February), you might be interested to know that we've officially...

Our books get started in different ways. Sometimes we have an idea: What if we get a lot of science fiction and fantasy writers together and have them write essays about Buffy the Vampire Slayer? (Though this was a few months before I...

A Friday Night Lights Companion's Fan Favorite Tournament: Winner Announcement
Those of you who have been following our A Friday Night Lights Companion's Fan Favorite Tournament know that on Friday the final match came down to Tim Riggins and Coach Eric Taylor. Both accumulated a lot of votes (and a lot of supportive tweets!) throughout the weekend, but only one can win now. The Fan Favorite winner is . . .
Coach Eric Taylor
With 2/3 as many votes as Coach, Tim definitely held his own. But as many fans have said either in comments or tweets, Coach is the heart of the...

Last Friday Night Lights Twitter Party (And Finale Thoughts)
We had our final Friday Night Lights Twitter party this past Friday night, and aside from the show itself, I'm genuinely going to miss the live-tweet sessions we hosted each Friday. We got the opportunity to know (and also know better) so many Friday Night Lights fans, and talk through so many different plot lines together, from the head-scratching ones (Julie and the TA!) to the heartbreaking (Vince and his dad). As the finale cued up at minute one and then faded at minute ninety, we also...

This is it folks: the finals are here, and we're down to the last two characters. If you're just joining us for the last day: To celebrate the release of A Friday Night Lights Companion (which we are not too proud to remind you is available right now on Kindle and iBooks, and will be available everywhere in print form soon), and to mourn the end of the show, this week we put all of your favorite characters up against each other in a bracket match to determine which character is the Fan...
