Week #43: October 20-26, 2025
Welcome to Week Forty-three. The moon is new in Libra—at 28 degrees, the same as my natal placement—and even though October is speeding by, we’ve still got time.
As our core number of the week is 7, and seven represents questioning, I’m curious how you’re feeling about beginnings, endings, past, present, January 2025, October 2025, and everything in between? Has this month felt same, same, but different? Radically new? How feeble or strong is your sense of wonder? What are the practices that help you to keep going? (Are you practicing them?)
I have a feeling I’m going to be unpacking this 9 collective year for a long time, where every single daily, weekly, and monthly number is amplified. Due to the fact that 9 can essentially be canceled out in any reduction calculation it appears in (truly, try some out, i.e. 1+9 = 10, 1+0 = 1), every core number this year becomes more of itself. Magnified, and polarized. Embodying both sides of the coin at the same time.
Meaning for this week…

Week #42: October 13-19, 2025
Welcome to Week Forty-two, the first full week we’ll spend without the absolute legend that is Diane Keaton. Should we all watch First Wives Club together and weep?
At the very least, please join me in lighting a candle and reading some wisdom from a true icon:
“I never understood the idea that you’re supposed to mellow as you get older. Slowing down isn’t something I relate to at all. The goal is to continue in good and bad, all of it. To continue to express myself, particularly. To feel the world. To explore. To be with people. To take things far. To risk. To love. I just want to know more and see more.”1
These ending sure do hit harder in a 9 collective year, where every single daily, weekly, and monthly number is amplified.

10/10: The Friday Five
What’s up, swimmers? We’ve reached another Friday, but a special one indeed!
Here’s today’s write-up from October 2025: WE WILL GO FORTH:
HAPPY TEN TEN (NINE)
10/10/2025
1+1+2+0+2+5 = 11/2
A day for whimsy! For delight and taking flight! Two can get a little stuck in the mud, but don’t forget how beautiful and magical this world can be. If you’re struggling to connect to joy and pleasure, go back to basics. What do you love despite all odds? What makes you smile, move, dance, yell, create, soar? Spend the day devoting yourself to Venusian pursuits and let it all lift your mood. You’ll never make it to the light at the end of the tunnel if you’re so bogged down in heavy darkness. Find balance here and now.
How are you spending the day? Which delights will you incorporate?
Personally, I’m going to get a little writing done for my grad program, which started on Monday and is already off to an amazing start, and then my wife and I are dropping the dog off with friends and heading to see our girl Chappell Roan play in Pasedena! So I, for once, will be taking my own advice and smiling, moving, dancing, yelling, creating, and soaring as best I can.
BUT FIRST—

THE FRIDAY FIVE 🖐️Here’s what’s gotten me through this wacky week:
Begin Again: James Baldwin’s America and Its Urgent Lessons for Our Own by Eddie S. Glaude Jr. — This was the first reading assigned in a class I’m taking called Society and the Individual, and a huge green flag for me! I’m in the right program with the right values! If you’d like to read the first chapter, which is all about “The Lie” that white America is founded on and Baldwin’s views of the writer’s role in revolutionary societal change, email me and I’ll send you a PDF! Otherwise, check out the whole book above and let it change your life.
“Emotions Are Real; Knowledge Is Not Real” by don Miguel Ruiz with Janet Mills — This was the follow up piece to the Glaude Jr.’s on Baldwin, and addresses the internal lies that spring forth from what Ruiz calls “the voice of knowledge.” My professor, who has a PHD and has been working in the field for longer than I’ve been alive, offered a solid piece of advice to clinical practitioners: It’s rarely about what happened, but rather what the present-tense feeling is. Keep that in mind as you read this piece. What does it reveal to you?
Magic Spells Oracle by Judika Illes — I was lucky enough to get my hands on a copy of Judika’s lovely new deck (Thanks, Weiser Books!), and earlier this week, I got to speak with Judika about the deck, her decades-long career in publishing, and what we can do in these Trying Times. You’ll get to listen to it later this month, but for now, please scope out this simple, yet rich deck that breaks down spell-crafting to its base parts: An element, a tool, and a theme or intention! And it’s cheeky—I already have a repeating card: The Cat!
Kinktober 2025 — It pains me to say it, but this is the first year I’m not writing for my fandom’s Kinktober in four years!!!! Even worse, I haven’t even been online all that much this week to scream over my friend’s creations!!! So it’s a good thing we’re celebrating in the SMUT CLUB Discord server, and that our October meeting is coming up on Thursday the 16th. (The only way to get into the server is to come to the club, so email me if you want to join us this week!) TGIF — EMAIL ME YOUR KINKY LINKS SO I CAN READ!
MY FRIENDS! MY PRACTICES! MY RESILIENT HUMAN SPIRIT! — Okay, this isn’t your typical Friday Five entry, but at the end of a week that catapulted me into grad school, delivered some disappointing scan news (they’re mostly good, more to come), and everything in between, I have to sit in gratitude for all that I’ve cultivated in my life. My friends and family are keeping me alive. My practices are keeping me centered and grounded. My resilient human spirit is keeping me in the fucking game. I am grateful for the opportunity to keep breathing, blinking, loving and making, and I hope to return the favor to my beloveds for the rest of my born days.

October 2025: WE WILL GO FORTH
Happy October! Happy Full Moon in Aries! Happy Spooky Season! Happy Kinktober, if you’re nasty! I cannot believe we are here, at the tenth month of the year. In terms of monthly cycles, we’re starting over. The Wheel is spinning.
I’m starting a graduate school program today. I’m a student again! I filled out a FAFSA and will do so again, should the government ever get back up and running! I did this—I applied, I secured the bag, I went to orientation—and yet, now that it’s happening, I’m quite nervous. Daunted to be at the beginning of a new adventure. I’m having to listen to my own advice in a way I’m not wholly comfortable with, and simply show up every day, do my best, and give myself grace around what gets bumped to tomorrow’s to-do list.
I’m also starting to get post-treatment scans. I spent a horrible hour in an MRI machine the other day, wondering if all of them had been that uncomfortable and I’d just been better at disassociating. I’m grateful for my breathing practices and for my wild, imaginative mind. Why be a claustrophobic cancer patient when you could be any number of characters in any number of scenarios? But also, I’m in physical therapy moving my body in new-old ways, and my wife held me in the kitchen this morning, rubbing my fuzzy head (pictured below) and singing “the bald days are over” to the tune of Florence + the Machine.
September brought me low, slow, and painful endings, but by the end of October, my year-to-year prognosis might just be miraculous.
So I’m starting to think about next year—
2026. A 10/1 Collective Year.
—and the things I want to devote my time and energy to making, especially as I embark on a new two-year plus course of study that will shift my practice and my profession in ways I can’t yet fully fathom.
I also want to continue to bring you entertainment, education and encouragement that is valuable, so I’d love for you to tell me what you want more of, less of, and more! So…
[✨ FILL OUT THIS FUN FEEDBACK FORM! ✨]THANK YOU! I treasure your time, energy and feedback more than you know.

Photo by Eilis Garvey on UnsplashOctober 2025: WE WILL GO FORTHAs I said in Call Your Coven’s October forecast “Invisible Progress,” October of every year brings about the completion of one full cycle of monthly numbers. This is true whether we’re counting collective energies of 1 through 10, or personal cycles of whatever your monthly number was at the beginning of the year. October is a return, a graduation, and a mirror to January, so it may be helpful to look back in your planner, journal, inbox, or camera roll to see what was going on for you at the start of 2025.
There are a few ways we can approach this month:
We can treat it as an energetic preview of what’s to come next year in 2026, and start to flirt with the energy of what’s coming next.
We can acknowledge we’re still in overall 9 energy and go for broke. Treat these next three months like a mini container of time where we throw all of the spaghetti at the wall and get as fun and free as possible.
We can keep doing what we’re doing, trusting that things take the time they take, and we’re meeting endings and beginnings every day in big and small ways.
Whatever you choose, I believe in you, and I hope by this point in a tough year, you believe in yourself. After all, you’ve made the most of the time you’ve been given, and you’re breathing, blinking, and blessing the world with your presence and gifts. Especially if you’re not where you thought you’d be, use this month as a mini new year, and wrap things up before the Witch’s Wheel spins…

NOTABLE NUMEROLGY IN OCTOBER

10/06/2025
1+6+2+0+2+5 = 16/7
Eclipse season is over! You may not have all the answers or be seeing everything clearly, but it’s time to get going. Stay flexible and curious, and remember to stay slow and steady while you’re getting up to speed. If you’re struggling to move, reach out and connect with others working to move their needles too! You are not alone and you don’t have to go it alone. Keep your magic simple, but powerful—one candle, one card, one mantra, one intention. Focus on faith over getting fancy.

NEW MOON IN LIBRA
10/21/2025
1+0+2+1+2+0+2+5 = 13/4
Both October’s ruling number (One) and this lunations ruling number (Four) are practical numbers that want to add oomph and structure to whatever we’re whipping up. How could a little bit more attention to your systems feel good at this point in the month? Where could a little planning or organization make the efforts you’re putting forth really shine? Let Libra bring the aesthetic and the numbers bring the order. This could also be a moment to let those pesky habits of chaos and self-sabotage die off.
SAMHAIN
10/31/2025
1+0+3+1+2+0+2+5 = 14/5
11/01/2025
1+1+1+2+0+2+5 = 12/3
Happy New Year, Witches! These holy days at the end of the month feel super supportive and potent for this wheel spin/new year/transition energy. October 31st is an overall 14/5 day, so you may want to brew a potion, try a new spell that sounds like fun, or do Uncrossing or Road Opening work. November 1, is an overall 12/3 day, so again, we’re making magic, we’re getting creative, we’re expressing ourselves, we’re reflecting on the overall journey… anything that feels like it’ll put you in a good place to lay things to rest, and be reborn.
Sending you fresh starts, spooky fun and more magic in October! And…

Week #41: October 6-12, 2025
Welcome to Week Forty-one. We’re in the witching season now. Can you feel it?
The October missive will hit your inbox on Monday will the full moon in Aries, and will include numerological ideas for celebrating Samhain 2025, the Witch’s New Year. It will also include a fun feedback form as we look to 2026!
We’re almost to the end of this 9 collective year, where every single daily, weekly, and monthly number is amplified. Due to the fact that 9 can essentially be canceled out in any reduction calculation it appears in (truly, try some out, i.e. 1+9 = 10, 1+0 = 1), every core number this year becomes more of itself. Week #40: September 29-October 5, 2025
Welcome to Week Forty, which will offer us the opportunity to firm up our foundations as we move into a new month.
For the last 10 weeks, we’ve experienced the spiral of the building block numbers through the lens of the number 3. Now, we’re entering a ten-week cycle with the number 4 at the helm. It’s also the last full set of 10 weeks we’ll experience this year, as a year only has 52 weeks. What will we build with them? How will we weather them?
We’re nearing the end of this 9 collective year, where every single daily, weekly, and monthly number is amplified. Due to the fact that 9 can essentially be canceled out in any reduction calculation it appears in (truly, try some out, i.e. 1+9 = 10, 1+0 = 1), every core number this year becomes more of itself. Week #39: September 22-28, 2025
Welcome to Week Thirty-nine. We’re post-eclipse, but still in eclipse season. We’re in the final full week of September, but still very much in September. It’s never-ending, it’s ramping up, it’s petering out, etc. etc. etc.
A common directive during eclipse season is to “take your hands off the wheel.” Let go, and let God. But what does that actually feel like to go through? It’s terrifying! You want to grab it again, rectify the situation, swerve and slam until you’re back “in control.” At the very least, your heart will get a rabbit’s kick of a start as you prepare yourself to navigate new terrain. Endings are brutal, but transitions are even worse. (Don’t even get me started on scary beginnings…!)
We’re feeling everything right now, especially at the end of the ninth month of a 9 collective year, where every single daily, weekly, and monthly number is amplified. Due to the fact that 9 can essentially be canceled out in any reduction calculation it appears in (truly, try some out, i.e. 1+9 = 10, 1+0 = 1), every core number this year becomes more of itself. Week #39
Photo by Elise Wilcox on UnsplashThirty-nine is a number of expressing one’s experience, of the Young Buck and the Elderly Sage, and the eruption of the volcano when the pressure builds to the point of breaking.
Leonardo DaVinci, artist, scientist and polymath, has long been attributed to the quote: “There are three classes of people: those who see, those who see when they are shown, those who do not see.” However, it is actually by Niccolò Machiavelli in The Prince, which was written in Italian but translated reads, “There are three kinds of mind: the first grasps things unaided; the second when they are explained; the third never understands at all.”1 Why the misquote? Well, it seems the first phrasing is from a novel called The Romance of Leonardo da Vinci (1902) by Dimitri Merejkowski, which still makes clear that Machiavelli is the speaker, but alas.2 Anyway, read the quote again. What do you make of it?
This week, think before you speak. Paradoxically, try not to let you brain stop you before you even begin. It must get messy before it can be given form. Why? I don’t know. It just seems to be the way. And remember, the only way out is through. Let it fly, but then take a breath. Stay in it long enough to find peace in the known and unknown. There’s a chill to a logical approach, yes, but there is also calm and clarity.
Keep reading for some food for thought based on your yearly cycle number!

Photo by Nick Möllenbeck on UnsplashSeptember 22-28 for Your Yearly CycleTo find your yearly cycle number, add the digits of your month and day of birth to 2025, and reduce until you reach a single digit. For example, the calculation for my birthday of July 7 looks like: 7+7+2+0+2+5 = 23, 2+3 = 5.
Please note that I reduce doubled digit numbers like 11 and 22 to their root numbers when working with yearly cycles, so please calculate and read accordingly.
Read for your Yearly Cycle, but also check out your prominent chart placements, like Life Path and Public Persona, as well for the collective 9-year.
1Be aware of how addictive the energy of the beginning can become. Are you starting things just for the thrill of it? It’s okay if you are, there’s no judgment. We’re just observing our patterns, watching ourselves cope. Unless One is a major player in your numerology chart, you’re likely just hanging out in this energy this year, meaning that next year, you’re going to have to deal with all of the things that you’re a few steps down the path on. Or you could stop starting things and use this week to take stock of what’s on your plate. Snip snip, babe.
2Life is long and hard, and people are tricky delights, and there are always going to be lessons to learn around compassion and connection. That being said, there’s a balance to love and relationships, especially when you consider both your self and the other. Are you ignoring yourself in any way? Take steps to rectify that situation this week. You are deserving of all of the same love, care, attention, and energy you give to others. But perhaps to find a sustainable balance, you have to rearrange the energetic furniture. You do you, love.
3I’d like to test a theory: At this point in the year, does it feel like your life is a closet and all of your clothes have been pulled out of it, but now your room is a mess, and how the fuck did you even get so many clothes, and now you forgot why you even started this closet project to begin with, and holy shit, will you ever feel happiness again? You will. There’s a fine line between madness and genius. Try to have fun toeing it for as long as this cycle lasts. Still, step back this week and start sorting the clothes in whatever way feels the most obvious. Get a head start, honey.
4The death cycle is a doozy, huh? It really takes a toll, to live and die a thousand times in the span of one year, let alone one lifetime. Compartmentalization can be a helpful skill as much as it can be a habit that doesn’t serve you. This week, play with containers to help you process your feelings. Set a timer and have a good cry. Soak in a warm bath of Epsom salts. Visualize putting all of your feelings into a container of your choosing and dropkick it far away from you. Not forever, but overwhelm doesn’t allow for options. Shine a flashlight on yours, sweetheart.
5It may not feel like it, but things are going to start to cool off soon. Or at least you’re going to get a little more of what you want, and less of what you don’t want. Or maybe that’s just wishful thinking? I guess you’re just going to have to wait and find out. This week, figure out what words of encouragement speak to you, and bolster you through this moment in time. Maybe all words fail, but you can hold tight to a feeling, any feeling. Maybe you need a badge from the COURAGE CLUB. You will make it through, I know you will. Chin up, kid.
6Chances are this has been a soft and tender year, and you might be feeling pretty sensitive and sleepy right about now. While this is very understandable and the directive is still to give into those generous, nurturing invitations, know that it can’t lead to inertia. That will make the next leg of the journey a lot harder, and you just recovered, goddammit! This week, rest. Fill up your cup. Do what you need to do to feel like yourself. Take care of your people. Keep it small and steady. But don’t give into hopelessness or defeat. That’s boring, buddy.
7I know, I know, Jesus has had the wheel are freaking year and he’s done absolutely nothing with it!! But what’s a little more time? What’s a little more trust, faith and pixie dust? This week, spend some time really asking and exploring this question: What would you do if you got the wheel back? Truly, madly, deeply answer it for yourself. The standstill is just an illusion, you’ve actually traveled quite far. Next year will ask for action items, so once you know what you’d do with the wheel, you can start to put a plan in place. Get prepared, darling.
8You know that feeling when the hyperfixation bubble bursts and then you’re kind of just retracing your steps and doing all of the things you used to do, but now it’s all a bit…. different? Empty. Not the same. If you can relate, that feeling sucks. Especially when you really loved whatever it was and derived great pleasure from indulging in it. This week, let yourself rest and do other things. You might come back to it and rediscover your passion, or you might not. Either way, you’ll find that feeling again. Cheer up, buttercup.
9How many endings is too many endings? Asking for a friend… Whew. What a month, what a year, what a life. Are you strolling in a garden? Dragging your carcass over the finish line? A secret third thing? Whether you’re graduating or barely getting there, have a little faith in yourself this week. Be proud of your efforts. Be gentle with your missteps. Be hopeful of all that’s still to come. It’s not over yet, dear.
How is your forecast finding you this week? What’s something you can do right here, right now to make things easier on yourself? (Do it, okay?)

Week #38: September 15-21, 2025
Welcome to Week Thirty-eight. Sheesh, time flies during eclipse season. Are we moving in ways that are small and slow ? (For better or worse…)
September’s catch-phrase is Reports From the Field, and so far, the telegrams are coming back saying we are emotionally fraught and frazzled! This week could present some nice opportunities to take breaks and breathers, get quiet, and even if we can’t re-center per se, we can see the full scope of things or narrow our options down to this or that.
This could feel peaceful, especially in a 9 collective year, where every single daily, weekly, and monthly number is amplified.

Week #37: September 8-14, 2025
Welcome to Week Thirty-seven, whose root number is one, meaning we’re getting a little bit of fresh start energy right on the heels of Sunday’s eclipse in Pisces.
But in all honesty, it’s probably going to be a bit more “Not this again!” than we might like. It might also feel like needing take some extra space to yourself, or feeling scattered if around too many other people or intense energies. If this is not available to you (me neither!), remember you can always take a deep breath and hold your center.
This is all especially true in a 9 collective year, where every single daily, weekly, and monthly number is amplified.

9/5: The Friday Five
Happy Friday! Real talk: I’ve been depressed!
You know that feeling when you’ve just been hanging on for so long? And you’ve been so good? You’ve done everything that’s been asked of you, risen to every challenge, bobbed and weaved with every change of plan and pace, AND YET??? The hits just keep on coming???
Anyway, this list is as much to remind myself to not judge my joys as it is to perhaps offer some of them to you—especially the first entry, which is shameless self- and community promotion, but spoiler alert: The Rebis - The Devil is now available for pre-order and just one look at the cover will prove it’s worth your time and dollars—if you’re in your own dark fucking night of the soul.
Sending you love, wherever you are.
THE FRIDAY FIVE 🖐️Here’s what’s gotten me through this wacky week:
Getting to see the cover of THE REBIS: THE DEVIL by the brilliant Xaviera López: I love , I love its HWIC , and I love The Devil issue’s guest editor Meg Jones Wall, and I love everything about the list of contributors! What a joy and an honor it is to be included in such creative community! This launch is such a reminder that seeds planted in the dark come to the light at the right time. I’m so grateful! Snag your copy now, duh!!!
LANDSCAPES: I know someone reading this is like, “Bee, shut UP about Landscapes!” However, I cannot! This online group of writers has been an important constant in my life for a little over a year, and am officially a “trusty sub” for facilitator-extraordinaire Cody Cook-Parrott. This week, I wrapped up two-and-a-half weeks holding that space, we had a Show and Tell moment, and it really fueled my inner fires. If you’d like to join our wild, but wonderful space, you can try it for free next week, September 8-14. The link is live, but wait to sign up until Monday the 8th so you get the full free week! Okay? Okay. See you there! (Ps. I’m subbing again, and hosting a workshop, in October, so it’s a great time to join!)
[*knocks on your digital door*] “Have you heard The Good News? Romance Novels exist!!!!”: If you’re a member of SMUT CLUB—and if you’re not… why? Email me at beescolnick@pm.me to join!—then you know I have been coping with out of control life circumstances by shoving painfully heterosexual books in my gaping maw. Recently, I've devoured OVERRULED by LANA FERGUSON (opposing-counsel-to-hate-hookups-to-lovers, SPICY SPICY, 4 stars), PROBLEMATIC SUMMER ROMANCE by ALI HAZELWOOD (age gap and won't let you forget about it, SPICY but the MMC gave me the ick, 3.5 stars but only because this is a sequel to a book I actually liked and those characters were also in this one), and OUT ON A LIMB by HANNAH BONAM-YOUNG (two disabled MCs, one-night stand results in a pregnancy plot, SPICY AND FLUFFY AND COZY, 4.5 stars), and the last two books in the LOVELIGHT FARMS series by B.K. BORISON: MIXED SIGNALS (dating pact between mutual piners, she’s never had an orgasm with a partner before!!!! 4.25 stars) and BUSINESS CASUAL (one night to get it out of their systems—Sure, Jan—and no third act break-up, 4.5 stars). Next up, I’m going back to gay with AND THEY WERE ROOMMATES by PAGE POWARS, but if you want to read any of my recent reads, check out my Bookshop list!
Candy Crush: Y’all, I am not a gamer. I am even less of a phone gamer. I am married to a phone gamer though, and she looked at me the other day with a lot of gentleness and said, “I know where you are…” Because I’ve been glued to my phone, running up my screen time hours, playing endless levels of Candy Crush like it’s 2012. Why? Ask my therapist. (She actually said it’s fine to let my brain unwind with games when I’ve been through Trauma.) Anyway… it’s fun to watch things explode and also one day soon I will delete this blasted app!
Chocolate Chip Clif Bars: I’m sure they’re actually terrible for you and obviously they are not a substitute for real nutrition, but I am bad at feeding myself and these little babies just appeal on a level I cannot understand. This week, they’ve been a tiny treat and sometimes the only thing I can stomach before dinnertime. Thank goodness they exist, and thank goodness Trader Joe’s carries them by the box!
Happy Friday! Let me know what’s getting you through this week, and if you love any of the things I love! <3
