Sistar Sun RA was born Casundra Hightower in the rural town of Longview, Texas. She and her many siblings grew up surrounded by individuals facing adversity mirroring their own existences. Her experiences with bullying, sexual abuse, body shaming, alcoholism, drug addictions, poverty, homelessness, mental illnesses, and broken relationships led her into co-creation with the universe by writing.

Her journey led her to write early in life when personal pain trying to discover the meaning of her own existence became too much to bear alone. She began to use many genres of music to inspire her storytelling. Though her views and opinions may contradict what society deems acceptable by usual standards. She only wishes to make it all make sense usin

I find myself going back to dig up more dirt I can pile into the story that will come up and have everyone react to it in different ways. Sometimes I hit gold, other times I laugh at my flux of character morality.

But it entertains me, so I always keep writing just to see what's the worse that can happen? LOL...You have to keep a sense of humor when it comes to writing. People are going to talk one way or the other, so why not be your own worse critic?(less)

I'm a storyteller. I see how so many topics, situations, and emotions conflict with daily living and I think...It's bad...so bad...but it could be worse.

I've learned to stand in the shoes of others and see life from their perspective. It may not be the way others interpret the view, but it doesn't make anyone right or wrong or another less intelligent. People are the products of their environment until they move to better surroundings to enjoy the view. Many never make that one choice for whatever reason that holds them stagnant.
But those that can master alternating perspectives, there is a sense of peace that is found in sharing what you learn. That's why I write, and love being an author. It's all I ever wanted to be, and I feel that no one can tell a story as I deliver. You may not like a few characters or certain ones...

You may be offended by the levels of immaturity displayed by a few...or you can feel that I take things too far.

But isn't that what great books are supposed to do? If they don't make you feel or think differently, then I believe someone edited out the best stuff. I don't want to water anything down for long. I have to stay true to my art. (less)

Quoting King of Clubs

Chapter 7:
Big Shot/Blood Diamond
Told by Darius Cyrus Jefferson

“You look very festive, Man-Di-sa!” G.D. flirted, eyeing at her tight pants, cheerful. “Looking like a Christmas cookie! I just need to take a bite!”

“You’d drool all over her without your teeth in, Gary…Sit down!” Sophie hissed, pushing G.D. back in his chair. She messed with Mandisa’s ponytail. “I love your hair, Diva. You’re so beauti Read more of this blog post »

“No matter what life throws your way, keep your head up.
As long as you're learning, you're living.”
Sistar SunRA, Queen of Hearts

“I see movies, hear the characters' conversations, and watch them interact mentally. Then I have to write what happens. It's been fun.”

“Hakim bit into his bottom lip, and I stirred his eyebrow. He closed his eyes and stated, "Mandisa, I can't lie to you about my past anymore. Things keep coming up that I thought would be buried, and I don't want you to believe that I'm the person I used to be."

"What are you talking about, Hakim? Everyone has a past and secrets. Look at mine? I have lived my life like an animal inside a cage poked at and put on display. I have issues, and I know this, but I do not ask any of you to do anything more than be my friend," I explained, pulling him closer for a hug.”
Sistar SunRA, Queen of Hearts

“Cyrus seemed to be thinking as he sighed, “Hakim, in a way, I think Lionel follows Lester around because niggas are scared of him. The same way niggas are scared of you. Think about it, Hakim? The only time Lionel goes around Les is when you’re gone!”

Whoa! Was Cyrus making a valid point? Yes, Les had a bag, cars, girls, respect, and people feared him because he wasn’t afraid of anything, but he was nothing like... Damn it all! Cyrus was right.

“Lionel started hanging around Les when I started doing my shit and leaving all the time,” I realized, holding my jaw.”
Sistar SunRA, King of Clubs

“Sup, Bro?” I questioned, gawking at Mandisa’s window. “You didn’t get my calls?”

“What calls?” Hakim queried, halting short of the chair. He checked his pants pocket, and I bobbed, peering at the trails of prints in the snow. “Oh, damn, Bro! My bad…it’s been on vibrate. I didn’t even feel it, I guess.”

“You were probably too busy with your pants down,” I snickered to myself. Obviously, He was doing HIM…didn’t waste any time, either…I see you… “Where’s Queen?”
Sistar SunRA, King of Clubs

“I see movies, hear the characters' conversations, and watch them interact mentally. Then I have to write what happens. It's been fun.”

“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.”
Oscar Wilde
