Do you garden? I started a flower garden.
Do you garden–flowers, plants, or produce? My grandmother Moore always had a “green thumb” and could grow anything. This year I’ve started my own little garden here at our new […]

Two hours in the sun for doughnuts!
Recently our daughter Heather asked me to go buy her a dozen doughnuts for her and her coworkers from Hurts Doughnuts Company, a mobile specialty doughnut business which was going to be in Harrisonville, Missouri, about 20 miles north of where I live. Their motto means you eat so many of their delicious doughnuts, that Love this? Read More...

A butterfly experience
Recently I went on a spontaneous, overnight road trip to the Japanese Stroll Garden in Springfield, MO, to see a waterfall. While there, I visited the Dr. Bill Roston Native Butterfly House, which is part of the botanical center, and where you can see native butterflies lay eggs, caterpillars feeding, chrysalises in camouflage, and butterflies. The Love this? Read More...

Road trip to see a waterfall
Recently I went on a spontaneous overnight road-trip to see a waterfall while my husband Ray drove to Texas to visit his widowed mom Judy and to do chores around the house that she needed done. I LOVE waterfalls and it’s on my bucket list to visit some sites this summer, at least in Missouri and Love this? Read More...

Our 25th silver wedding anniversary & home purchase party
Ray and I recently had our 25th “silver” wedding anniversary and bought our home. I wanted to celebrate with our children, grandchildren, and a few friends who prayed for us to buy the house. God answered my prayer and our 3 beautiful daughters were there. Our grandchildren being there were the cherry on top, and Love this? Read More...

We bought a house! Praise the Lord!
About nine years ago, we moved to the tiny, rural town of Butler, Missouri (which means it’s out in the sticks!); I always say not willingly, but ONLY because my husband Ray got a great job there as a paramedic at Bates County Memorial Hospital. We wanted a house located close to Ray’s work, so we wouldn’t Love this? Read More...

Purple wildflowers
Yesterday my husband Ray wanted to go out to eat for steak, so we had a date night. There’s a little dive out in the sticks called Short Street Tavern in a tiny town called Montrose, Missouri (population 384 in the 2010 Census), that has the best prime rib we’ve ever tasted, and it isn’t that Love this? When everything around you is falling, and all else fails, eat chips and salsa
Today I made a mini-escape from hurts this week and I drove to Harrisonville, Missouri, which is a bigger city north of my tiny, rural town (meaning out in the sticks!) of Butler, and ate Mexican. I posted the pic on Instagram and Twitter with the title, “When everything is falling apart around you, and Love this? Read More...

Coffee *from* God. He cares about the little things!
This morning I was getting ready for church in my fuchsia colored/black/white dress, with the black shoulder wrap and the butterfly necklace my husband Ray bought me (I love butterflies). Then I realized as I cooked an egg that I was out of creamer for my morning coffee. Oh oh. “I have measured out my life Love this? Read More...

Only God can fix the wreckage of our lives
I saw this picture on Pinterest today, saved it, and posted it on Facebook saying, “Then I must have fodder for lots of stories!” Wreckage. The word sounds dangerously close to “carnage.” Let’s look at the definition of both. Wreckage: The remains of something that has been badly damaged or destroyed. Carnage: The killing of Love this?
