“I will not be "famous," "great." I will go on adventuring, changing, opening my mind and my eyes, refusing to be stamped and stereotyped. The thing is to free one's self: to let it find its dimensions, not be impeded.”

“Essentially we are all verbs but because
of the ego (or how society labels us) most people view themselves as nouns. When we apply this limitation to the creative arts, or more specifically writing, we can observe that writers will create their best art when they consider themselves simply as verbs, as in, "writers write." But if writers experience fame and fortune at a young age they will often fall victim to their ego, as in they have now been elevated by the masses to a noun. "I am now a writer, as accepted by the objective test of society because I have made a sufficient amount of money at it." The noun therefore has definitions or boundaries and therefore limitations, thus it is highly likely that the future art created will not be as free or powerful in the minds of the readers or observers. This irony applies not only to art but to most aspects connected to an individual in their lives.” ...more Jack Freestone |

“I go on the same walk once or twice each week. There is one part of the walk, around one kilometre, which is my favourite part. And when I walk down that short part, I get the most remarkable ideas, especially related to my writing, often quotes. At some point, I recognized this as a pattern, and so now it always occurs, like magic. I have always felt that certain geographical areas vary in energy, some good for me, and some less good, even bad energy. Countries, areas, and cities vary in this way. So, when you find that special energy place, you can collect good energy, and other benefits, from simply walking through it.”

“If we are all streams of consciousness, then apart from genetic similarities, and conditioning, we are all strangers to our siblings.”

“The saying, “They sold their soul to the Devil for fame,” has been proven to be accurate. Even if people initially gained fame due to their talents and skills rather than from outside assistance, they inevitably sold it later to maintain that elevated level of fame, fortune, and status.”

“When you lie and do wrongs to others, you lie and do wrongs to yourself. That is why it is impossible to escape karma, in the long term.”

“If a plant is wild, living in a forest, it is not reliant on you at all. Dig that plant up, and resettle it in your garden, then it is slightly reliant on you. But if you put that plant in a pot, and bring it into your house, then it is totally reliant on you. It can no longer be called wild, and no longer survive, or breed, without your help. And that is what your leaders are constantly trying to do to you.”
