Springtime in Surrey and Charm Bracelet Giveaway

Quick note: I was interviewed by Suzie Waltner over on Diamond Mine this week. There’s a giveaway with six (6) winners! Be sure you enter to win. The giveaway ends on August 9, 2023.

Last month, I created a couple of charm bracelets inspired by my newest book, Springtime in Surrey.

One of these is for me to keep, to wear as I run my errands. I’m hoping it will be a fun talking point for people I meet in my daily life, but it’s also a little bit of pretty that I can add to my outfit for...

It’s been a long time since I’ve hosted a reading challenge here on the blog. So let’s play BINGO!

The Way It Works

Launch Day Is Tomorrow {Springtime in Surrey Blog Tour}

Hi, friends! Tomorrow is the big day: the release of Springtime in Surrey into the world.

This book has been a labor of love for my fellow authors and me. While we’re hearing that early readers are finding the stories to be charming and emotional, we’re still eager for you, our dear friends, to be able to read the book.

In Springtime in Surrey, you’ll meet…

… a woman who helps orphans feel useful during WWI…

… a compassionate sheep farmer and a distraught former ballerina…

… a ...

Movie Wrap-Up: Sound of Freedom

On Independence Day 2023 (and again a couple of days later), I saw the most important movie of this millennium. Sound of Freedom exposes the horrific “business” of child sex trafficking. The film was very well made, keeping the most awful deeds off-screen but implying enough that any viewer couldn’t possibly miss the dark intentions.

Y’all, this movie broke my heart. No child should ever have to go through what those kids endured. Thankfully, this was only a movie and the children invo...

Elusive Dreams {the Dreams Trilogy}

This article is the second in the Dreams Trilogy. Please check out the first article, “Lost Dreams,” on Writing to Inspire . The third article will be featured on Little Blossoms for Jesus on July 17.

“Elusive Dreams” begins now…

While some dreams are lost, others are elusive. Those sorts are like a carrot on a stick, always drawing us closer yet never letting us grasp them in full. They torture us in their inability to be fulfilled for one reason or another.

One such dream I’ve had i...

Lost Dreams {the Dreams Trilogy}

Before I get going on today’s article, I have a quick note to say: I was a guest yesterday on Lauren Watt’s Lauren’s Easel blog. I would love it if you’d give that article some love this weekend. It features a song that would be Moira’s (from The Cottage on the Hill, published in Springtime in Surrey at the end of this month) theme song if she had such a thing.

I’m also a guest on Grace A. Johnson’s blog, Of Blades and Thorns, today. I hope you’ll visit and consider commenting on that article...

Before we get to today’s special guest, I have just a couple of notes.
