Review: Lucy and the Duke of Secrets
Before I started Lucy, I had recently finished reading The Duchess Deal (Tessa Dare), The Duke and I (Julia Quinn), and Secrets of a Summer Night (Lisa Kleypas). They all had likeable heroines, but I thought Lucy Bell blew them out of the water. Which is surprising because at first I thought Lucy was going to be quite an annoying heroine. She does babble a lot at the beginning which may give the impression that she is young (which she is) and perhaps stupid (which she is not). But I kept reading...

Review: The Duchess Deal
I was not a huge fan of The Duchess Deal. It was fun, it was readable, there was steam, but the romance was not the part I enjoyed the most. The entire story is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast, right down to there being a Cogsworth-type as well as other servants all desperate to get their “Master” to fall in love so that he can be happy again. The servants’ eagerness actually leads to some really cute dialogue, some of the best in the book.
