Book Review: The Brazen Bluestocking by Tracy Sumne

The Brazen Bluestocking by Tracy Sumner

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bold, Brazen, and Utterly Bewitched

Hildegard “Hildy” Templeton is a brazen bluestocking who has sworn off men and marriage and, as she tells the story’s villain at one point, you’d best not forget it.

Yet somehow stubborn, spinsterish (and excessively beautiful) Hildy winds up in a very steamy entanglement with a very wrong man–wrong in as many ways as you can think of: Tobias “Toby” Streeter is her client, he’s a rough street rogue wh...

Book Review: A Steamy & Satisfying Escapade

Rules for Heiresses by Amalie Howard

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rules for Heiresses opens with an explosion of romance tropes all smashed together into one big messy but delightful chapter: heroine in disguise, compromising situation, heroine on the run, marriage of convenience, childhood friends turned enemies to lovers, and then toss in an initially dislikeable alpha hero who is rather a Cinderella in his own right.

As the story continues, some of these tropes are put on the shelf as the marriage of...

Book Review: Love on the High Steamy Seas

Between His Lover and the Deep Blue Sea by Merry Farmer

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love on the High Steamy Sea

I keep mis-remembering the title of this book as “Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea” when it’s actually “Lover” not “Devil.” That said, Adam Seymour certainly does have a tempting, devilish side which pairs nicely with his angelic good looks! When the handsome young tutor falls head over heels for the older, rugged sailor Septimus he is persistence personified until he gets what he want...

Book Review: Brilliantly Written and Charmingly Magical

How to Talk to a Goddess by Emily Croy Barker

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a lovely, addictive read. One of those rare books where even the character’s ruminations on the most mundane things become captivating. I quickly knew I was in masterful/mistressful hands when I got to the twist to do with with a certain street gentleman. I read this without having read the first book in the series and did just fine, but liked it so much I’ve bought the first book for my sister (and will borrow it after...

Book Review: Stirrup the Steam!

One Race to Ruin by Cara Maxwell

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Stirrup the Steam!

This is Cara Maxwell’s steamiest book yet! It also had me on tenterhooks at certain points. The will-they-or-won’t-they dynamic between Eric and Daniela is palatable and creates an irresistible current of tension that made this book impossible to put down!

Daniela is a fiery red-head determined to live life on her own terms. With her mother dead, her father has shipped her off to live with relatives–but the situation soon be...

Book Review: A Tale of Love, Honor, and Passion

Across the North Sea: A Dark Viking Romance by Sofia Hahn

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“Odilia knew, in that moment and without a semblance of a doubt, that she had never known a more courageous or beautiful man, and she never would.”

This was a beautiful story! Although it is a double-woven plot and follows two different heroines and their separate heroes, it was never difficult to follow and I was equally invested in both sisters’ stories the whole way through–perhaps even more so because they are sis...
