3 A.M. RAMBLINGS… AND A TRIBUTE TO NICK CARDY

I had a pretty good writing day once I got started. Started the day off by doing that thing so many writers find themselves doing instead of writing. Yes, I cleaned my office. I will have this story finished up and off to the editor tomorrow. Sadly, I missed my deadline by a couple days. I hate it when that happens. On the up side, I’m almost caught up.

I also got a report from set where the Starship Farragut episode I wrote is being filmed this week. I wish I could be there, but I'm excited to hear things are going well. The episode is called “Conspiracy of Innocence” and I’m eager to see the final product. I can’t show off any of the photos from filming yet. Stay tuned. I’ll share more when I can.

Comic book fans will recognize the name Nick Cardy. Cardy was a fantastic illustrator who worked in comics for several decades. Sadly, Mr. Cardy passed away on Sunday evening. I didn’t know him well, but we had met a few times. He was a genuinely nice man and an even greater artistic talent. He will be missed.
Learn more about Nick Cardy here.
Anyway, I think it’s time for me to call it a night.
Sweet dreams.
Bobby

These are only a few covers. There are plenty more out there to search through.
I think you'll find some good ones.

MATTER DEEP PUBLISHING LAUNCHES THE INDIE GUIDE TO INDIE PUBLISHING KICKSTARTER

A step-by-step guide to indie publishing from people who have been there and done that.
Help eight experienced independent authors (and one designer!) publish a how-to guide for aspiring self-publishers.

The Indie Guide to Indie Publishing is a start-to-finish guide designed to help independent authors navigate the world of self-publishing. Each of the nine authors involved has their own areas of specialized expertise in independent publishing that they want to share with writers and artists with all different levels of publishing experience.

The authors involved in this project have done years of research and production, often times patching together their knowledge from scattered sources and learning from epic mistakes. We've already combed through the books and websites, filtered out the snake oil salesmen, and done the trial and error ourselves. Our experiences can streamline the process for you and serve as a guide along the way.

Whether you're a complete newbie or just an author looking for a little expert advice, this book can help you. How does Bobby Nash get invited to so many cons? Where can you find a reasonable, talented cover artist? What did Blake Northcott do to get an endorsement from Mark Millar himself? These are just some of the questions we'll address in The Indie Guide to Indie Publishing.
Involved with the project are Blake Northcott, Kiri Callaghan, Bobby Nash, Dave Wheeler, Carly Strickland, JL Bryan, Kyle Strickland, Teal Haviland, and Amy Leigh Strickland are launching the Indie Guide to Indie Publishing on Kickstarter. Back us for sweet rewards!
Learn more here.

I an excited to be part of this project and look forward to spreading the word about it. This is our second fundraising attempt as the first one fell just a bit short. To all those interested in pledging, you have my eternal gratitude.

BOBBY VS. THE BIG BAD DEADLINE
Tonight, I finished up my story for the upcoming The Big Bad Anthology Vol. 2 and sent it off to the editor. I'm actually a couple days ahead of my deadline, which is always nice when that happens. And just in time for Halloween too. Time for a short break to catch up on some TV. I have another story due Friday so it’ll have to be a short break.
The Big Bad Anthology Vol. 1 is still on sale, by the way. Learn more here.
Dark Oak Press’s The Big Bad: An Anthology of Evil is now available as a hardcover, paperback, and ebook (Kindle and Nook) at Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Created and edited by authors John G Hartness and Emily Lavin Leverett, The Big Bad Anthology features stories from a host of authors and is suggested for mature readers.
Bobby's story in this volume is called “Lowlife.”
When Jack Sebastian walked out of prison there was nothing waiting for him but a long stretch of empty road and a long walk in triple digit temps under a blazing sun. When the old man offered him a ride he dared not refuse. That decision was the start of the longest ride of Jack Sebastian’s life.
PRESS RELEASE:
The Big Bad: An Anthology of Evil
Everybody loves bad guys, and these are some of the baddest of them all. Forget the rules. There aren't any heroes. No one is going to save you from the wickedness in the darkness. Monster hunters can easily become the hunted. Twisted perverts can find themselves on the receiving end of their own deviant desires. No matter how big and bad someone or something may be, there is always something bigger and badder just waiting. Even the classics like a dragon, werewolf, or supernatural being can fall victim to something even more evil. Take a peek, if you dare, inside the malevolent world of super-villains, monsters, demons and just plain evil folk. Be careful, what you see there might be disturbingly familiar ...
The Big Bad: An Anthology of Evil is now available in hardcover, paperback, and ebook formats at the following:
Amazon (paperback) $12.77
Amazon (hardcover) $22.82
Barnes and Noble (paperback) $13.02
Barnes and Noble (hardcover) $23.27
Amazon (Kindle) $2.99
Barnes and Noble (Nook) $2.99
