Rich Dad Poor Dad: What the Rich Teach Their Kids About Money That the Poor and Middle Class Do Not! by Robert T. Kiyosaki

The book is an eye-opener. The meaning of several concepts has changed for me now especially the difference between asset and liability.

The only thing that I wasn’t able to take was that Robert constantly advocated investing in real estate as the best and fool-proof method to get rich. It might have worked for him but may not work for everyone else. Again, having said that he also presses on investing in financial education and seems (I might be contradicting myself here) if one has that knowledge, an individual can find a way out even with investment in real estates or some other avenues.

All in all, a must-read and a recommended reread as well.

The Ant Thief (Picture Book for Kids) (Read Aloud Book) (Good Values) (Book for Early and Beginner Readers) by Gita V. Reddy

It’s a good story but seemed inspired by the Grasshopper and Ants tale.

Loved the illustrations which are made by the author herself. If it can be developed as a proper picture book it would look great.

Want to wander in fantasy land, pick this book.

If you love dragons then you are going to love this story.

I am scared if I will be able to meet you again.
I am scared if you will be able to see me again.

A tiny virus is dancing on the street
Infecting all and sundry as they breathe.
Social distancing, lockdown, and now double masks
It’s just getting hard to breathe.

Remember when we were kids, we tried to master
A song called Breathless.
Now it worries me when I hear the words
I feel breathless.

I am scared if I will be able to meet you again.
I am scared if you will be able to see me again.

To deal with problems, we are often advised
With the words, ‘Be Positive’.
Now every morning I start with a prayer
Hope no family and friends are tested positive.

I decided to stay off social media for few days
I will just stay away from all the negativity and sad news.
But what do I do with the phone calls and messages?
Now they are filling and flooding with bad news.

I am scared if I will be able to meet you again.
I am scared if you will be able to see me again.

What I am saying is depressing, I know
But it’s high time now, I can’t stay calm.
I am worried, I am terrified,
Don’t ask me to relax, I can’t stay calm.

Wherever you are my friend,
Take care as much, let’s not lose touch.
Look out for each other, keep it simple
Just stay at home and stay in touch.

What If? by Shari Low

This book was written 20 years back and I feel it was ahead of its time.

There are multiple things to adore about Carly Cooper. Initially, I felt the lead character is just commitment-phobic but later I realised that she is one of those strong-headed individuals who would not dwell on the monotony of life just because she is a lady. She starts her career as a night club manager which is uncommon for a female in those times. Also, she would not give up on a grand job offer in another country just because she is engaged, and many similar instances.

There are a few important aspects subtly touched in the book. For example, if there is a choice, why can’t a man tag along with his lady when she wants to pursue a job of her choice, which involves moving out of the country. Why can’t a man wait for her till she is back and stay in a long-distance relationship until then?

For me, the most favourite thing about this book is the friendship between the girls. Adorbs and Lovely.

Eagle Luck by Sundeep Agarwal, Anusha Sridharan

I picked this book because of its title. I wanted to know what it implies and now I find it so comical. It is something silly but even when we were in school, silly things had a lot of significance in our daily lives.

This is a quick read, lucid and light. It will make you nostalgic about your school days and after reading this you are going to make a call to each one from that gang of yours for sure.

Anxious People: The No. 1 New York Times bestseller from the author of A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman

One hostage drama but this story is not about the hostage drama. I am in love with how the book is written. If there is a way to describe people then this is it.

There are 12 significant characters in the book and each one is as important. . They all have backstories and it’s admirable how they are interwoven with each other. The characters are not related but still connected.

Emotional. Funny. Thought-Provoking. Interesting. Unputdownable. I am short of words.

I never wanted the book to end but unfortunately, all good things come to an end and this one did too. So, I might just pick it up start reading again. Re-readable is also a word to attach to this one.

A Paradise of Thoughts (Full Coloured) by Shefali Arora

There are 35 beautiful Haikus in the book. What I loved about them are the pictures on which they are inscribed. It appears so stunning that I plan to print the most favorite ones and frame them, It will make gorgeous decor for your living room.
