Burdened By Fate by Anand Kumar Yadav

There are two stories in the book of two girls Anshika and Nisha. The stories are on similar lines where the girls fight all the odds and pursue their dreams.

It is a good inspirational read, my personal favourite is the first story. If you ignore the few typos and editing errors, it is definitely a heart-touching book.

It is available on Amazon Kindle Edition and Paperback.

Life in the Uniform: Adventures of an IPS Officer in Bihar by Amit Lodha

This book is a collection of real-life episodes of Police Officer Amit Lodha starting his journey from IIT to IPS and then on the field. The book sums up all the struggles police personnel goes through at work as well as his/her personal life. It is indeed a good read.

I did not like the writing style of Hindi dialogues that followed the English translation in the next sentence. It could have been only Hindi, the continuous translations were irritating at times.

It is available on Amazon Kindle Edition and Paperback.

Tales of Durga (Amar Chitra Katha) by SUBBA RAO

This book has stories of different avatars of Goddess Durga but I found it slightly short and few gaps in the story. Maybe it was mellowed down since the large reader base would be kids, but there could have been more stories added.

Overall it is an ok book.

It is available on Amazon Kindle Edition and Paperback.

Dasha Avatar (10002) by Kamala Chandrakant

This book has all 10 stories of the 10 avatars of Lord Vishnu. I found this a great book for kids to introduce them to the mythological characters.

Reading this I remembered how my mom used to tell us these stories. Nostalgic. 🙂

It is available on Amazon Kindle Edition and Paperback.

101 Animal Stories by Dreamland Publications

The only thing good about this book was the illustrations. Bright, lively and beautiful but there are multiple things that disappointed me.

Starting with the type of stories, that have morals like doing good with take you to heaven, isn’t it odd for kids to be taught about doing good to go to heaven instead of doing good for humanity. I did not like the font of the story, it was too short and stuffy.

It could have been better.

It is available on Amazon Kindle Edition, Audible Audiobook and Paperback.

Suppandi 5 – From Hired To Fired by Rajani Thindiath

Suppandi can never disappoint you, with all his antiques. Reading this series, I realised how tough the English language can be. Hilarious.

It is available on Amazon Kindle Edition and Paperback.

Suppandi 7 Fire Aware by Rajni Thindiath

Suppandi comics are hilarious without a doubt but this one was stuffed with some Chiyo and Superwierdo comics in between which disappointed me. If I re-read this volume it will only be for Suppandi jokes.

It is available on Amazon Kindle Edition and Paperback.

The Girl With A Secret Crush by Sudha Nair

It is a story about a proofreader who is in love with the author whose manuscripts she reads. She is in love with him and how their love story progresses is something to read in it.

The plot was different and I loved how the story paced. Some love stories are dragged with low significance and they take the essence away. This one was short and to the point. Loved how it ended.

It is available on Amazon Kindle Edition.

Extra Ordinary by Sailee Tiwari

There are 12 stories with varied themes and all have something bright to offer.

The language of the book is simple but still noteworthy for the thoughts and emotions it builds in. Loved all of the stories but my favourite is the 3rd one – Friends Forever. It had a vigorous message that one’s past should not stop one from progressing in life. What is done is done, and life is all about moving on and embracing the new.

Recommended read.

It is available on Amazon Kindle Edition and Paperback.
