North Pole Magic-anthology

Kris Kringle wants his kids married and he wants grandchildren. He is willing to interfere however necessary in his grown children’s lives until he gets his way.

The first story, All He Wants for Christmas, focuses on Santa’s daughter, Merry. Kris decides to play matchmaker between Merry and a cowboy, Nick Holiday, who had strayed away from celebrating Christmas. Merry has driven her father crazy long enough. Kris believes it’s time for another man to love and tame her wild ways. He gives her the task of working as Nick’s cook at his ranch and bringing him back to Christmas, healing his emotional wounds…or else be assigned the unpleasant, permanent role of manager of the Toy Factory.

The second story, Santa’s Surprise, focuses on Santa’s oldest son, Nicholas. Kris decides it’s time to retire as Santa and pass the role onto Nicholas, who also needs to get married and work on the grandchildren Kris wants. Nick has never wanted to take over the Santa role and steers clear of anything Santa related, going so far as to move to Kauai and run a tourist business there. Misty (Mistletoe) McGuire, a sexy little Hawaiian who collects Santa figurines and runs a Christmas shop, comes into his life and suddenly his world is changing. His dad is persistent. He is resistant. And Misty is caught in the middle of it all.

The final story, His Only Wish, Santa focuses on his youngest son, Pere Noel. Kris unhappily discovers that Pere has been lying to him. While visiting one day with his old friend, Pere Fouettard, the two fathers discover that their children have been married for almost seven years. Pere Kringle (now going by Perry Ingle) agreed to a marriage of convenience with Nikki Fouettard (now going by Nikki Ambrose) to keep both of their families from harassing them into getting married, when neither were ready to settle down. Now they must face their families, face the identity lies both have told, and discover the real reason neither have filed for an annulment.

Reader Review from Amazon: 5 Stars

“This book features three stories about Santa’s three children as they find true love…with a little help from one meddlesome Santa! A must read that features some spanking for discipline and some for…blush…excitement.” (TabbyJ-reviewer)

Reader Review from Blushing Books: 5 Stars

“Loved the three stories. Starla did a wonderful trilogy of what happens when Santa interludes in his kids lives.:-)” (Susan-reviewer)

Hawke’s Lady

When Lady Sabrina Whitley had snuck on board the nearly deserted ship in the secluded alcove, she’d been desperate to escape her father. All her life she’d been in some kind of trouble, but stowing away on a pirate ship may prove to be her biggest mistake yet. She withstood being discovered by the crew, and then being soundly dealt with by the captain. Her father hadn’t broken her spirit and neither would the infamous Pirate Hawke. She would survive; she would get away somehow. She would belong to no man…

Hawke couldn’t believe that a young woman had dared to hide on his ship. Yet he understood desperation and knew only that would have made her take such a dangerous chance. He should toss her overboard, give her to his crew, anything to stay away from the sassy miss who dared challenge him. But as she bravely took her rightful punishment and then fairly burst into flames when he took her, he knew he would never let her go. She belonged to him. Forever.

So Not a Cowgirl

Tanya Montrose was sexually harassed by her former boss and falsely accused of ruining his marriage. Men are seriously on her bad list. She is forced to find a new job, in another town, at least for a while. Her best friend insists she go with her to Kansas so she can work temporarily for her handsome, somewhat domineering brother on his ranch. If she didn’t need the job so badly, she’d refuse. The man gives all new meaning to the word “hot.” She doesn’t need that kind of temptation after what she’s gone through. And he doesn’t want her there, even if he needs a good accountant, which she is. Plus he tells her that he has a lot of rules and time schedules…and that she will be expected to follow them or face consequences. Consequences? That doesn’t sound good. But she’s desperate. For now.

Drew Weatherford is worn out from the stress of working his dude ranch, dealing with his new animal rescue foundation, and trying to keep up with the ranch books. His sister shows up with her friend and informs him Tanya is the answer to his bookkeeping problems. Maybe so, but she’s more temptation than he wants anywhere around him. She’s the exact opposite of his two ex-wives and so not his type of woman. Really. Not his type. His body doesn’t believe that. His record with women sucks. He doesn’t want another one complicating his life. No way, no how.  But, damn, she really needs this job. And she barely blinks at his mention of her facing “consequences” if she screws up or doesn’t follow his rules. A month. He’ll give her a month.

Hot Days…Hotter Nights

Lacey was a particularly emotional woman at times and he tried his best to give her what she needed. Occasionally he screwed up. He’d obviously done that now, even if he wasn’t sure how or when. Give him a complicated business contract to create or read through and he could do it. But give him a woman’s idea of how things should work and he was lost. At the moment he was big time lost.

*****

He studied her photo once more and reflected on the early days of their marriage. He hadn’t always been a stuffy, conservative man, who fitted his profession so well. There had been a touch of the romantic in him. It was time to find that side of him again.

BLURB

Faith had fallen in love with Adam, the oldest of the Braddock brothers, the gruffest, and the saddest. But his continued rejection has finally made her give up on him.

She is moving on with her life. She is taking over management of the mercantile, unfortunately next door to Adam’s barbershop. And she is going to live over the store, also an annoying problem for him. Does she care? No. He had his chance with her.

Next she is planning to send out a flyer for a mail-order groom. Adam thought his previous marriage had been miserable, but Faith is driving him crazy. He doesn’t want to ever get married again. Yet his attraction to the beautiful, stubborn redhead tests his decision almost as much as the woman does. She has no business moving out on her own, or running a store alone. He doesn’t want to be responsible for watching over her, but he can’t help it.

What she needs is a good, solid man to marry her and give her babies, and take her in hand.

He might finally burn her bottom for all of this nonsense, but no way is he going to marry her. So maybe he will find her a suitable husband and stop her from sending out that ridiculous flyer.

Testing Their Love

Grayson and Belinda Jo have a good marriage except that Grayson’s expectations for her are in conflict with her own need for fulfillment. Grayson wants her to sit on the boards of a half dozen charities. BJ wants to teach exercise classes for the elderly.

When a serious exercise related injury leads Grayson to insist she give up her job as a personal trainer, BJ begins to compensate for the frustration, anger, and tension she feels by joining the Y and exercising on the sly. Even as she’s held captive by the need to exercise more and more to deal with the increasing tension she feels in her marriage, BJ knows there will be a day of reckoning. She knows Grayson believes in domestic discipline. What she doesn’t know is how he will react when she tells him she intends to resign from the boards he wants her to sit on.

… a contemporary romantic short story with domestic discipline elements

“Starla Kaye is one of my favorite authors because her writing is sexy and realistic at the same time. The spanking and love scenes were very erotic and the characters were well developed.” (Firefly)
