5-stars from Liz’s Reading Life
“This story is another sizzling creation from SJ Maylee.”
EXCERPT – Far from Blind
He closed the door behind them and the distinct click of a lock tumbling over echoed around the room. Maybe no showing yesterday was a mistake. If they’d had any chance at all, she’d blown it for sure. How could she expect him to trust her now? The air, thick with unsaid words, closed in around her.
It was time to take care of business and escape before she embarrassed herself. “This must be for you.” She held out the envelope.
“Thank you.” He took it from her and tore it open, revealing a piece of paper. His cheeks pulled into a little smile, then it disappeared. He maneuvered around his desk and sat. “Do you like me, Candy?”
“Of course I do.” She clasped her arms around her middle. The bigger question is what he thought of her before Club Blind and now.
“Then why didn’t you show last night?” He pressed his lips together and kept his gaze on her.
“To be honest…”
“That’s all I’ll ever expect from you.”
“I’ll give it to you straight. You don’t want a girl like me.” She blew out a breath as if it could help her raging pulse. Never in a million years would she have guessed she’d want a man to tell her she was wrong.
“Is that what you believe?”
“Yes.” She kept her focus on him. He gave nothing away. His expression didn’t change, only his fingers tapped on his desk which was irritatingly neat.
“Then we have a problem.” He stood. “We’d agreed to meet. I kept up my end.”
“And I didn’t.” She blew out a deep breath.
“Come here.”
She didn’t move. She didn’t take her next breath either.
He pointed to the ground in front of him. “Don’t make me ask twice.”
She jumped and then slipped around his desk. Damn, he really did smell good. No matter whether it was aftershave or him, the deep woodsy scent turned here on. Everything about Brad turned her on.
“Did I ask you to join me at Mistress Charlie’s yesterday?”
“Yes, but—”
“Do you believe I’m a liar?”
“No.”
“I don’t think you are either.” He tapped under her chin, lifting her focus back to him. “But I don’t believe you’re being honest with me right now and that’s a problem.”
“I’m sorry I didn’t show yesterday.”
“I appreciate the admission, but I can’t let the action and the attitude go unpunished.”
“What, are you going to spank me?” She chuckled.
“I think it’s time.” He tucked some of her hair behind her ear and his touch lingered along the side of her neck over her ugly mole. “Don’t you agree?”
“Agreed, Sir.” She leaned back on his desk. It was the only thing holding her up.
“Safeword?”
“Red.”
“Very good. Bend over my desk, please.”
“Right here?” She looked around his office. She didn’t find any windows to the hall, but his windows facing the next building were wide open. “You really are pissed.”
The corner of his lips lifted slightly. “The windows are treated. No one can see in here.”
“Oh.”
“You’re stalling.”
“Can you blame me?”
“You do know I’m an accountant, right?” He tugged on her hair. “We like to add.”

Beverley Bateman with Targeted
I’m welcoming Beverley Bateman to my blog with TARGETED, a romantic suspense.
BLURB – Targeted: Hawkins Ranch Series- Kye’s Story
After an eleven year absence Janna Kincaid inherits a ranch and is forced to return to a town she only remembers with unhappiness, a man to whom she was briefly married and never wants to see again, and someone is trying to kill her.
Kye Hawkins has loved Janna since he first met her. They were married but a few weeks, later she ran away, without an explanation. He still hasn’t figured out why. Now she’s coming back. Does she still love him? Can he rekindle the romance and also prevent her from being killed?
Janna doesn’t want Kye’s help in any way, yet he always seems to be there when she’s in trouble. Can they work together to find a killer, save the Native burial ground and home of the spirits, and find romance again?
BUY LINK: Amazon
Let’s chat a bit with Janna Kincaid and Kye from Targeted .
Can you tell the readers a little about yourself?
Sure. I’m Janna Kincaid. I produce television programs, usually documentaries on various topics. I live in Seattle and have my own house. I live alone and have no desire for marriage and a family.
What are a couple of random thoughts about yourself that will surprise the readers?
Janna: I don’t like to face my personal problems and prefer to do the ostrich, head in the sand approach and ignore them. I drink too much coffee. I don’t like being told what to do.
What makes you blush?
Janna: Actually, it’s accepting a complement. I have a hard time with that because I’m not used to it and I don’t know how to accept it.
What brought you into contact with each other?
Janna: I guess you’re talking about Kye and me. We met over twenty years ago. We were both children. I visited his parents’ ranch and that’s where we met. He kept saying we were soul mates, and we did fit together at the time.
What was your immediate reaction to each other?
Janna: He said he fell in love with me that first meeting. I didn’t pay too much attention to him at that time, but he grew on me.
What do each of you think about “love and romance”?
Janna: I’m against love and romance. I tried it once and it didn’t work out. I hold on to a lot of negative feelings from growing up. To prevent myself from ever getting hurt again, I want to immerse myself in my work and avoid any type of relationships.
Kye: I, on the other hand, fell in love at first sight. Janna is the only woman for me. I’ve waited for her to come home for eleven years, and now I’m trying to figure out how to win her back. I want Janna, marriage and kids.
Who took the first step in heating things up between you?
Janna: When we first met, it would have been Kye. When I was in my late teens the feelings were mutual.
Kye: Now that Janna’s back I’m trying to figure out how to heat things up again.
Would you rather be caught in a wild moment of passion or tied down and taken?
Janna: I would definitely want to be caught up in a wild moment of passion.
What is the kinkiest sexual thing you’ve ever done?
Janna: I don’t think we’ve done anything really kinky. Before we were married we were riding out on the ranch and got caught in a violent thunder storm. We had to seek cover in a small shack where we spent the time making wild, passionate love (but it wasn’t really kinky).
Who made the first compromise in your relationship?
Janna: This is hopefully our second time around. Kye is making the compromises. He’s trying to change, become less ‘take charge’ and give me more freedom.
EXCERPT – Targeted
Someone had shot her back tire. Janna gripped the wheel to keep the vehicle on the road. She debated whether to try and outrun the shooter, wherever he was, or find cover. The windshield shattered as a third bullet entered the passenger side.
So much for outrunning the shooter.
She scanned the area and spotted an outcropping of rocks a few feet ahead on her right. She aimed the vehicle in that direction.
Two more shots, and both the back tires went down.
Definitely find cover.
Janna ducked low behind the steering wheel until the vehicle reached the rocks. When the car stopped, she grabbed the keys from the ignition and her purse and dove out the door. Bullets bounced off the rocks behind her as she scrambled for cover. Whoever was doing the shooting was serous. Anyone of the shots could have hit her.
She reached the rocks, keeping low until she got to the middle where she curled up as tightly as possible, her back against a rock. Her heart pounded in her ears, her breathing came in gasps. This was getting to be a habit. First someone tried to kill her in Seattle, and now, out in this god-forsaken country.
What the hell is going on? Why are they shooting at me? Was it the same person who shot at me in Seattle? That doesn’t seem likely, but who even knew I was coming here? Maybe it’s someone just trying to rob a stranger.
Yeah right, be honest, Janna, does this road look like many strangers came this way? And if they did, would they have a lot to steal? You really think this person selected a spot in the rocks where he would have a good shot at my vehicle. Coincidence? Not damn likely.
At least she’d worn boots and jeans—even if they were designer jeans. Now they were filthy, and so was her red sweater and jean jacket.
Another shot hit the rock behind her. She rolled over onto her stomach, shaded her eyes, and squinted into the sun. He must be up on the cliffs straight ahead. She wasn’t sure, but she thought she might have glimpsed a light, maybe a reflection off his scope.
Terrific! Now what? My gun is in my purse. I could fire back, but that would be a waste of bullets at this distance.
She yanked out her cell and punched in 9-1-1.
Damn—no reception.
A pounding pulsed through the ground and came closer. Janna could feel the vibrations. It felt like horses. She glanced around, without raising her head, to see what was coming.
Suddenly there was a hand in front of her face.
“Grab it and jump on.”
The deep, rumbling voice was not asking. It was an order.
Janna grabbed the strong hand. In one smooth motion, she swung up behind a man on his horse. Seconds later, she had her hands wrapped around his well-developed, muscular chest, as the big chestnut thundered across the ground, out of the bullets’ range.
The man wore a leather jacket over a sweater. Her hands slid under the jacket for better grip. Even through the sweater she could feel sinewy muscles. She laid her head against his back and his braid. She took a breath in, inhaling the rich scent of leather, trying to calm her racing heart rate.
She glanced behind her. The cliffs were fading into the distance. The muscles of his well-developed shoulders bunched and relaxed as he led the horse at a gallop across the field. She felt safe for some unfathomable reason.
He had a familiar woodsy scent that made her think of sex under pine trees, not that she’d ever made love there. In fact, her sex life was pretty negligible these days.
They’d been riding for several minutes when Janna leaned forward. “You can put me down any place. I can manage now.”
“Really? And just what are you going to do out here, miles from town, by yourself, with someone shooting at you?”
The voice was deep, but soft, and rolled over her like warmed brandy. It triggered something in the back of her memory. The earthy scent, the sinewy body, the braid, the voice… She knew this person who had ridden up out of nowhere to save her.
“I have my cell. I’ve already called 9-1-1,” she snapped.
“And did you get an answer?”
Janna yanked her cell phone up where she could see the screen again and re-tapped in 9-1-1. And then there was that famous phrase—No Service.
There was a deep chuckle. “That’s what I thought. There’s no service in this area. The mountains block it.”

Lauren Linwood and A Knight for Kallen
Today I am welcoming Lauren Linwood to my blog with her new release, A NIGHT FOR KALLEN.
First, let’s talk a bit with the author.
If you use a pen name, how did you decide on it?
I had wanted my pen name to be Diana Leigh, the name my mom had decided to call me before I was born. Little did she know my dad gave the nurses a totally different name they had never even discussed! When I Googled Diana Leigh, I found she was a jazz singer in New York and already had www.dianaleigh.com, so it was back to the drawing board.
I’ve always loved alliteration, so I started trying out first names that I liked and putting a last name that started with the same letter with them. Somehow Lauren Linwood resonated with me. It flowed well—and it’s looked great on my nine book covers!
What drew you to being a writer?
I always made up stories when I was growing up and would act them out with my dolls and my friends. Giving life and a voice to the people I saw in my mind was the most natural thing in the world to me.
Do you do anything special to get in the mood to write?
If I waited to be in the mood or for the muse to strike, I might never get anything accomplished! A lot of writing is BIC—Butt in Chair. You simply have to make yourself do it. I do like to light a scented candle. Sometimes I’ll turn on my noise machine and write to waves rolling in and out or a rain shower or babbling brook. I cannot have music playing, though. I start to sing along with whatever song I hear, and that totally pulls me from my story and era.
Wat is in your TO BE READ pile?
WAY too much! I read everything from thrillers to romance to suspense to horror. I also enjoy biographies. I’ve had to learn throughout this writing journey to budget my time and be a little more selective in my reading so I have enough time to write.
How do you come up with a story line?
My magic words are What if…
I use that phrase every time I begin a new story. What if twins were literally separated at birth became A Game of Chance. What if a Texas Ranger was the son of a famous outlaw turned into Ballad Beauty. What if an English nobleman’s family refused to ransom him and he was left to rot in a French prison is A Bit of Heaven on Earth? (and no – the prison is NOT his piece of heaven here on earth)
What are you currently working on for your next book?
I love to read series, but I’ve never written one before. I decided I wanted to tackle that challenge, so in 2016 you’ll see the first two books in the KNIGHTS OF VALOR series. The first, Word of Honor, will come out next summer, with the second (as yet untitled) releasing in late fall.
How did you come up with your title?
My working title was Aura of Love since my heroine Kallen sees auras about people. My editor wasn’t feeling that, so I christened it A Knight for Kallen. Griffith definitely IS the knight for Kallen.
Do you have a favorite character and why?
You’ll laugh at this, coming from a romance writer, but my favorite character is not one of my heroes or heroines. It’s actually a pair from A Game of Chance. Max is a millionaire in his 90s and is feisty as they come. He’s close friends with my heroine Lily and related to my hero Jed. His butler Harold has a dry sense of humor. The two of them together were comical and endearing and my favorite characters I’ve ever written.
BLURB – A Knight for Kallen
Kallen de Mangeron grew up in a convent, her noble family never knowing of her birth. When a new Mother Superior informs them of her existence, they send trusted knight Griffith Sommersby to escort her home.
Griffith’s heart broke when he lost his wife and infant son during childbirth, and he’s kept his feelings locked away from the world—until he meets Kallen. He soon learns her dark secret—that she sees auras around people—which allows her insight into their actions and personalities.
Now Quentin, bastard brother to the king, decides to harness Kallen’s gift in a plot to win the throne. Will Quentin successfully use a kidnapped Kallen as his political pawn, or will Griffith be able to stop him before Kallen changes the course of England’s history?

Oy. No more weekday frat parties for me, no matter how noble the cause, especially when I have a test the next day. What was I thinking? And last minute cramming with a headache was not a good idea either. Forget it. My eyes drifted to the clock.
And now I was late. Damn it. With a sigh, I threw down my pencil and scrambled up, my head throbbing. I traded my Eeyore jammies for skinny jeans and a fitted white t-shirt. Shoes, where were my shoes? Gah. I ducked and rooted around in the deep, dark spaces under my bed. Hmm, the green dress I borrowed from Sarah. Mental note: I need to return that. English book, various dust bunnies of uncertain lineage…there.
Sketchers on, I grabbed my backpack, turned up my iPod, and ran out the door. No time to primp.
Good thing the campus I lived on was small. There was a big central courtyard—the quad—filled with towering oak trees and wide-open spaces surrounded by squat school buildings and classrooms. If I hurried, I’d make it…
I raced into the quad out of breath and slowed, turning in a complete circle.
Huh.
No one around. Unease skittered through me on soft paws. The courtyard was always busy. I pulled my headphones out of my ears. Was there some sort of event I didn’t know about going on? The unnatural silence pressed in on me for a second as the echoes of my steps faded.
Then screams—men’s and women’s—poured from Main Street. I broke into a run and shot between the buildings toward the sound.
Cars littered the intersection. Some guy rear-ended someone else, causing a chain reaction down the road. A horn blared nearby and a faint breeze blew the smell of gasoline, smoke, and copper my way. Clusters of people stood among the wreckage.
Colleen plays many roles. Not only is she a veteran, a mother, and a practicing physician, but she is a writer of science fiction and contemporary romances. Colleen’s dreams include surviving her son’s teenage years, exploring every continent on this planet, except Antartica, cause that’s way too cold, and winning the Nobel peace prize. Dream BIG! Currently she is getting ready to publish her first novel, MUST REMEMBER in November of this year (cover reveal soon.) Until then look for her at Three Rivers Romance Writers, at Facebook Colleen Myers, and at @ColleenSMyers.

CHARACTER INTERVIEW – I’ll Be Home for Christmas
Beth Alexander in Ruth A. Casie’s I’ll Be Home for Christmas in Timeless Moments
Hi, I’m Beth Alexander, a New York Times, USA Today best-selling author. I want to thank Starla for giving me the opportunity to speak to you today.
How did you first meet your writer?
I met Ruth A. Casie at a book signing in a Bergen County New Jersey bookstore. We were both signing our new releases.
Did you ever think that your life would end up being in a book?
Actually, no. I write them. I’m not in them.
What are your favorite scenes in your book: the action, the dialog or the romance?
My favorite scene was when I first laid eyes on Jarred. I tingled all over. You know what I mean?
What do you like to do when you are not being actively read somewhere?
I’m a romance writer. I love to brainstorm new stories and think of ways to put my hero and heroine in danger. There are times when I have no idea how I’m going to get them out on the other side, but they always do.
Do you like the way the book ended?
I find my true love and resurrect my sinking writing career. I wouldn’t have Ruth change a word.
Would you be interested in a sequel, if your writer was so inclined?
We’re currently in discussion with our publisher, Timeless Scribes. In my story, I’ll Be Home for Christmas, I presented a story concept. Timeless Scribes and Ruth liked it so much they encouraged me to move forward with it. It should release in May.
What is your least favorite characteristic your writer has attributed to you?
I had been snarky on a social media chat that went viral. My fan base abandoned me. Let’s just say my reactions wasn’t pretty nor something I want to remember.
What do you wear when you go to sleep?
Hmmm, nothing.
What is your most prized possession?
My Jimmy Choos!
What do you like most about where you live?
I live in a small town on the Rhode Island shore, Havenport. My parents have retired to Florida and given the house to me, my two brothers and my sister as a vacation home. We try to get together every Christmas. It’s the time of year I love the most.
What’s your favorite thing to do on a rainy Sunday?
Write!

EXCERPT – Elena Chavez
Deputy Dale Jackson watched rain course down the windows of the squad car, flow into the gutter to be carried to the arroyo then on to the Rio Grande. The little New Mexico town had sweltered in the heat for weeks, but today, clouds had built up over the mountains and the rain swept through the canyons to drench the dusty streets. He was relieved to see it, but it gave him a sense of isolation, of being left behind, and for a brief minute, left him uncertain he was in the proper place. Should he have stayed in Santa Fe? Was he doing the right thing with his life? He brushed these thoughts away. At midnight, he returned to the Sheriff’s Office, his shift over.
Dale sauntered in, where Agnes Peralta, the mature, brown-haired night secretary, waited to close up and go home.
“Hi, Dale. How about this rain?”
“Good stuff, Agnes,” he answered. “Any messages for me?”
She stood up from the desk and got her purse from a drawer. “Uh-uh. It’s been quiet tonight. The heat has slowed things down, but it will be jumping again once people get some moisture in their bones. Anything to report?”
He shook his head. “No. I’ll see you to your car.”
Agnes locked up, sprinted for her car, and heaved herself in. With a wave to him, she left. Odd that folks waited, anxious for rain, then acted like a drop or two would melt them like sugar.
He got in his car and headed down Main Street toward home. At Apache, he was cut off by a speeding car and became instantly angry. He took off after them, noting the number on the Texas plate, a yellow Ford with a dented left rear fender. If he’d been in the squad car, he could have turned on the lights and siren and scared the hell out of the fool. At the next corner, he pulled in front of the Ford and got out, rose to his full height, and strolled toward the car, his hand on his pistol butt. He never knew what might happen.
He made a circular motion with his other hand, and the woman lowered the window. Young, black hair, dark eyes, fear in her face.
He leaned down. “Going mighty fast, ma’am. You almost hit me.”
The rear seat was empty, and he glanced at her. “Let me see your license and registration, please.”
She rummaged in her purse then in the glove compartment and handed him those. Texas, again. Elena Chavez, age twenty-five, no restrictions, about to expire. Registration was current.
He gave them back to her. “You have your insurance card?”
She handed him a ragged piece of paper, also about to expire. “Have you been drinking?”
“No, I haven’t,” she murmured, her sultry, smoky voice inviting.
Practiced, he decided and regarded her with suspicion. “I’ll take your word for it. You’re headed for trouble if you don’t slow down.”
She smiled. “I got lost.”
Doubtful. “Are you living around here?”
“On Second Street. In the apartments.”
Tired, Dale worked to contain his irritation. “Well, can you make it the three blocks without tearing up the road?” He didn’t wait for an answer. “I’ll let it go this time, but if I catch you racing around town again, you’re gonna face a big ticket. And get your paperwork in order. Your documents are about to expire.”
Her voice curled around him. “I’m sorry, Officer.”
He regarded her for another moment. White blouse, cut low, lush breasts. “Okay.”
At his car, he shook the rain off his hat, and got in. As he approached the corner, she sped away.
Damn, an outlaw! He had an impulse to chase after her and drag her off to jail. He saw his hands on her, those frightened eyes, her dark hair tumbling, and went on home. He would not forget Elena Chavez. She would turn up again, and he would be on guard.

I married David Collins, a physician, who died in 2009. Our daughter, Elizabeth Collins, is an educator.
I write contemporary romance novels, which usually contain an element of mystery. Many are set in a fictional small community near Santa Fe, involving the local citizens, cattle ranchers and horse breeders, and others who wander in. Often a murder must be dealt with, so the impressive Sheriff and his two deputies figure prominently in the stories.
I strive to portray intelligent, introspective and self-aware characters, maintain a solid story line and I include a cheerful amount of sex. There are no billionaires or mega-financiers, and no product placement, just a glimpse of New Mexico life and folks you might like to know, solving their problems.

Cowboy Dreamin’ is now an audio book
I am happy to announce that COWBOY DREAMIN’ my erotic romance menage story from Decadent Publishing is now available as an audio book.
Cowboy Dreamin’
Genre: Contemporary, erotic romance, GLBT, ménage, western romance
Heat Level: 5
Publisher: Decadent Publishing
BLURB
Kendra spends her days and nights running a business, sculpting, and leading a Tahitian dance group in Kauai. She can’t squeeze anything else into her life, but she dreams of cowboys. Sexy, hot cowboys in tight jeans, low-tipped Stetsons, and dusty boots. Men who know all about how to please a woman. She enjoys her fantasies, but can’t imagine ever settling down. But one night with one would be so nice. Surely that would get her dreams of a white knight cowboy sweeping her off her feet out of her system.
Because of an accident that Shane believes left him “less of a man,” he doesn’t see a wife and children in his future. Carson, his ranching partner—and sometimes lover—thinks Shane is wrong. Carson refuses to let Shane settle for a life of rodeo bunnies who only want a romp in bed with a bull rider. Shane deserves more than that. He manages to sign Shane up with a matchmaking service to, hopefully, meet another kind of woman, maybe someone who will appreciate Shane for the man he is. Except Madame Evangeline expects both of the cowboys to go on this special one night date. It doesn’t take long for either cowboy to realize that one night with the purple-haired, hip-shaking beauty in Kauai might not be enough….
EXCERPT – PG13 – Cowboy Dreamin’
“I can’t do this!” Kendra moaned and glared at Alexis in the dressing room mirror. She had one boob in a coconut cup and one boob that refused to go in the other bra cup. “I can’t!”
Alexis walked over and calmly pushed Kendra’s hands out of the way. She lifted the problem coconut shell cup and gently guided the uncooperative breast into place. “Situation resolved.”
Tears threatened and Kendra’s stomach churned. “That was only part of what’s wrong.”
She’d been stressed ever since learning about this arranged meeting between her and the two cowboys from Kansas. She’d been dreaming about a fantasy, sexy cowboy for so long. But two at the same time? What if neither of them met her visualization? Would she be soured on all cowboys? Would her fantasies be ruined forever? She didn’t have time in her harried life for more than the occasional fantasy. She needed it.
She exhaled deeply, wincing at the slight movement of the rough shells over her tender breasts. She still hadn’t gotten around to replacing the felt lining and she would pay for that negligence today. “My fantasies are all I have. If this goes wrong…. If they are—”
“This could be far better than those dreams of yours,” Alexis chastised with a frown. “It’s two cowboys.”
Kendra paced away and fluffed out her skirt. “Could be being keywords.”
A tear trickled down her cheek and she dashed it ruthlessly away. Then her shoulders slumped and she mumbled miserably, “I should never have agreed to any of this.” She glowered at Alexis. “You pushed me into it, all of it. Agreeing to spend some kind of night with two cowboys is bad enough. But you accepted this dance show without discussing it with me. And they are supposed to meet me here.”
She paced across the small room again, fluffing the sides of her grass skirt again. “First impressions are a big deal, you know. And here I’ll be shimmying my ass around wearing a pink skirt made of fake grass and bouncing my boobs in a really dumb coconut shell bra.”
To her disgust, Alexis laughed. “They’ll think themselves the luckiest cowboys in the world.”

Heidi Renee Mason and Investigating the Heart
I am happy to have Heidi Mason on my blog today promoting her debut novel INVESTIGATING THE HEART.
First, let’s talk with the author and learn a little about her.
What can you share with the readers about yourself?
I am a home schooling mom of three daughters and I love genealogy. I am an obsessed fan of Outlander, and I love all things Celtic.
If you use a pen name, how did you decide on it?
I opted not to use a pen name. I was advised by many to do so, but I wanted to take full ownership, good or bad, of the work that I produced.
What drew you to being a writer?
It is something I have always wanted to do. I don’t think I really had a choice in the matter.
Are you an outliner, a write by the seat of your pants author, or a combination?
I am a combination of both. I start with a chapter by chapter outline, just to be sure I can carry the plot all the way to the end. However, the characters always seem to do what they wish, and I’m really just along for the ride.
What are you currently working on for your next book?
I am currently working on the sequel (yet untitled) to INVESTIGATING THE HEART. I also have a standalone novel that i am starting which has the working tile of HOPE FOUND.
What was your favorite scene in this book?
My favorite scene from INVESTIGATING THE HEART was when Emma finally discovered that there was more to Liam than meets the eye. Although it is a heart wrenching moment for Emma, I think it is a pivotal and necessary moment for the story’s plot line.
Do you have a favorite character and why?
My favorite character is Emma. She is devoted to her daughters and is a fighter. Life has thrown her more than a few curves, but she perseveres and always comes out on top.
BLURB – Investigating the Heart
After the death of her husband in a plane crash, Emma McCoy, a single mom of three, has given up on love. When she meets Liam O’Reilly, an FBI agent who is new in town, the chemistry is immediate. Emma tries to keep her distance, but Liam is determined to win her over. As the two navigate their feelings, Emma’s resolve begins to crumble. What Emma doesn’t know is that Liam is connected to her past in a way that she could never have imagined, and this connection could put their future in jeopardy. In the small town of Beckland, Ohio, danger is the last thing that Emma expects. However, since Liam’s arrival, it seems like peril is waiting around every corner.
