Zoe Michal

Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we?!

Hi, I’m Zoe Michal. I live in Baltimore, Maryland. I started my own publishing company last year to sell my picture books. For each book sold, I donate $1.00 to an animal-welfare organization.

What prompted you to pursue a career as a writer?

I’ve always loved to read and write. It’s just who I am.

Do you have any special writing habits?

I usually like to write in the evening when the house is quieter. I do take a notepad with me whenever I go out so I can write while waiting in the car, or the doctors office, etc.

When you write a new book, do you already have the whole story in mind or do you elaborate it along the way?

I write picture books, so I usually start with a title. Sometimes I know the end, sometimes, I don’t.

In your opinion what is the best book you have written? What’s your favourite book ever?

I really like my current picture book, “Mission: Protect Bear.” My favorite? I love all of the Harry Potter books. I consider them one book.

Tricia Andersen

Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we?!

Hi, I’m Tricia Andersen

What prompted you to pursue a career as a writer?

I’ve been writing since I was little. It’s all I’ve wanted to do.

Do you have any special writing habits?

I have to play a game or two on my phone to unwind. And I usually write on my phone on Google Docs,

When you write a new book, do you already have the whole story in mind or do you elaborate it along the way?

I have a basic plot outline in my head and a few crucial scenes. Then I make it up along the way.

In your opinion what is the best book you have written? What’s your favourite book ever?

Heavyweight. I love how the relationships in it. The Princess Bride. It has a little bit of everything in it – comedy, romance, action, etc.

How do you feel after writing a book?

Tired and a little sad like after being on a really fun vacation.

Tell us about your latest book and please put the link so our readers can find it.

My latest book is the sixth book in my Hallow Brothers Series, Featherweight He was just a hapless victim in a bar. At least that was what vampire hunter Dakota Ross thought until the sexy smartass she was drawn to protect was able to keep toe to toe with her as they fought. When she finds a strange tattoo etched into her back after a night of intense, passionate sex, she discovers that he is Ezekiel Hallow, one of seven werewolf brothers. They team up to find Black, who has killed her husband and has the Book of Elvesayd, an artifact Ezekiel desperately needs. Each step on their journey becomes more deadly as they get closer to Black. How far will they go to find the Book? Can Dakota stop Black from taking the life of another man she loves?

Vartika Kothiwal

Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we?!

Hi. I am Vartika Kothiwal, a bibliophile who believes that books offer a lot more than they are given credit for.

What prompted you to pursue a career as a writer?

It was something that was … just there. I have been writing for as long as I can remember and yet, surprisingly, I realized writing is my passion years later.

Do you have any special writing habits?

Irrespective of length, I believe in penning the entire story first. The quality on paper is different from typing directly. The process is cumbersome, time consuming and 90% of the time I feel like I’m murdering my hand but this is the approach that works best for me.

When you write a new book, do you already have the whole story in mind or do you elaborate it along the way?

It’s a mix. Most of the time I have a vague idea in mind and get to explore it when I interact with the characters. Their traits tell a lot. I trust them to take me on their journey and my instincts help in those places where I don’t have proper clarity.

In your opinion what is the best book you have written? What’s your favourite book ever?

Whichever project I work on, I try to do my best. So at that time, that particular book is the best for me. Of course, as one hones the craft he/she starts seeing the mistakes which weren’t visible earlier and the places where things could have been expressed in a better manner.

How do you feel after writing a book?

That feeling of achievement is out of the world. Writing a book is a tedious process and requires patience and persistence. It is tougher for me as I pen the entire plot first. Therefore when I completed my first manuscript after years of seeing my drawers getting filled with unfinished ones, that moment felt surreal to me.

Tell us about your latest book and please put the link so our readers can find it.

I have released only one book so far and its name is THE ANSWER TO MY PRAYERS. It’s a contemporary romance.

Do you have a new release? When? We want details.

As of now I don’t have any upcoming releases in the pipeline. This pandemic has sent my work-life balance for a toss. I’m hoping to finish a new book by the end of next year.

Trishna Damodar

Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we?!

Hi, I’m Trishna Damodar. I started my career as a hotelier. When circumstances demanded a change in life, all the paths led me to writing. I am a firm believer in the mantra, ‘love can heal all’. Love to travel, spend time with my family (they are my rock and inspiration). I take joy in the simple things in life. I believe, I am a human being first and foremost, before any of the ‘categories’ such as gender/nationality/caste seek to divide our being.

What prompted you to pursue a career as a writer?

I began writing in the form of poetry and quotes. Words seemed to web their way into my thoughts, and I felt more at peace once they were out on paper. I feel a sense of joy and peace while creating new characters and stories, and once I was hooked, that was it for me. I felt I had found my calling.

Do you have any special writing habits?

Nothing extraordinary. I only need to be alone, and have silence while writing, for my thoughts to evolve, and reach their full potential.

When you write a new book, do you already have the whole story in mind or do you elaborate it along the way?

I tend to have a rough idea of the initial plot. As I write, I let the characters and the story take the lead.

In your opinion what is the best book you have written? What’s your favourite book ever?

Currently I feel my story telling skills in ‘Amma and I‘, are quite good. Although, I have so many more stories to pen down, and it won’t be fair to play favourite as ultimately every story had a unique purpose and intent. My favourite read so far has been, ‘Harry. Potter’. The magical realm, story, and narration had me spell bound.

How do you feel after writing a book?

Exhilarated yet sad at the same time as a journey comes to an end.

Tell us about your latest book and please put the link so our readers can find it.

Zee Lacson

Let’s get you introduced to everyone, shall we?!

I’m Zee Lacson was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. I grew up with her dad, brothers, and grandparents. I live in the far North Suburbs of Chicagoland, IL with her husband, twin sons, and fluffy dog. I’m an engineer by education, a photographer by profession, an artist by practice, and a writer by soul. I drink plenty of coffee. Good coffee. I eat too much. Food is good.

What prompted you to pursue a career as a writer?

I had a story …

Do you have any special writing habits?

I have this special writing technique where I sit down every day to write. I start out by re-reading what I’ve written before … then I get up to eat. Then I run out of time to actually write anything … I don’t recommend it. Before the pandemic, I would counter this tradition by staking out a spot at the local library. Best ambiance for it and I’m not allowed to munch on anything …

When you write a new book, do you already have the whole story in mind or do you elaborate it along the way?

I have an outline and then I adjust along the way. Much like life …

In your opinion what is the best book you have written? What’s your favourite book ever?

I’m a new author so by default … Reverie wins!

How do you feel after writing a book?
