Pierce Brosnan to play Dr. Fate in BLACK ADAM.
I was wondering what had happened to him. Turns out he’ll be taking some of that sweet, sweet superhero cash: “In the first superhero foray of his career, Pierce Brosnan has nabbed the plum role of classic hero Dr. Fate opposite Dwayne Johnson in Black Adam, New Line’s action-adventure project featuring the DC Comics antihero.” This is gonna be no-fooling JSA action, in other words: they got Dr. Fate and Hawkman and a couple of superheroes I don’t remember because I stopped reading by then. It’s gonna be cool, though. Way cool. I’m confident of that.
The “That’s not how this works!” STOWAWAY trailer.
I am trying to shut down the portion of my brain that is gibbering about the sheer nonsense that is the premise of STOWAWAY. It’s… surprisingly hard. I happily watch movies about space wizards and gods dressed in a combination of four colors; I should be able to swallow the comparatively lesser absurdities here.
And yet.
You can’t… really blame VICE for this one.
If you’re VICE, and somebody sends you a copy of the incredibly unfortunate route of the EVERGREEN just before it wedged itself in the Suez Canal, you gotta run it. You just have to. It would be denying your very nature if you did not.
Tweet after the fold. NSFW – and that’s always fun to write when it’s referring to an aerial plot.
just to reiterate: about 10 percent of world trade has been at a standstill for 2 days because a cargo ship drew a giant dick in the Red Sea then wedged itself sideways in the Suez Canalhttps://t.co/hlN1PcmMhW pic.twitter.com/wfSKdrtpkj

03/24/21 Snippet the Last, MARKET DAY AT THE PECZ.
Cliffhanger-y because the good guys didn’t prevail and didn’t really get a climax. I’m decreeing it done anyway. It’s for the sampler, which means by definition it’s not for purchase. I want it to ferment a while longer while I decide if it wants to be a novel or a novella when it grows up.

The demon contemplated the knives. They had been placed on a stump in the middle of the clearing by the surviving cultist. Her corpse would now be in the process of fertilizing the ground, but nothing lived in this part of the Devilwood. She was hardly alone, though; there had been many sacrifices and minions brought here in the last year, and Camio’s plans assumed there would be many more. And each corpse was as untouched as it was at its death; for nothing lived in this clearing. Not even rot.
Camio was not the sort of entity that had an internal monologue: the act of talking to yourself implies an ability for self-contemplation, and the demon had never seen the need. Why think about itself at all? Camio already knew it was perfect, in every way… except for how much power was its to command. By ‘now’ (whatever that means for a creature from Eternity) It defined itself by power, and its hunger for more.

‘Song of the Siren.’
Helen Mirren to play villain in next SHAZAM! film.
…Look, they had me at ‘Helen Mirren,’ honestly. She’ll be fine playing ‘Hespera,’ a hitherto unknown villain in the DC universe. If she could do RED, she can do this*.
Moe Lane
*To quote Warren Ellis, when they asked him how he felt about the way they took his comic book and stretched it out to movie length: “I mean, if you don’t want to see a film with Helen Mirren with a sniper rifle, I’m not sure I want to know you.“
03/23/21 Snippet, MARKET DAY AT THE PECZ.
This is very possibly going to be a book. Or a hook. I’m not sure yet.

Councilor Newstar was in the cafeteria, all right. It was still an open question whether she’d ever leave it alive.
Janet and Elizabeth found Joe, who had his arm in a sling but was still giving orders until his fellow Councilors came in. “Three of ‘em burst into the council room, screaming that crap they do about ‘blood on the land.’ Then they stabbed Brittanie, each of ‘em.” He shook his head and raised his splinted arm slightly. “I got this when I went after ‘em with my jackknife. Carved up one of ‘em real good, but it was still two to one after that, you know? I got sliced, lost my knife. Then they told me I didn’t need more than one arm for what they wanted me to do, so I had best shut up.”
“What did they want you to do?” Elizabeth asked.
“We didn’t get that far, Liz. Right about then Brittanie dragged herself up. My knife must’ve landed by her hand, because she had it. Jammed it into the back of the neck of one of the guys before she fell down again, too. That just left me and the last guy.” Joe shook his head. “It’s funny. I felt bad about kicking him in the junk. Didn’t get bothered about what I did afterward, but that part? It was kinda nasty.”
Tweet of the Day, I Will, Of Course, Be Seeing BLACK WIDOW In Theaters edition.
I’m tired of the New Normal, and miss the Old Normal. So the answer there is clear.

HAHAHAHA The RAYA AND HAHAHAHA THE LAST HAHAHA DRAGON HAHA Honest TrailerAHAHAHAHAH.
I had to stop at 0:43 because my kids are in school right now. My God. Oh, my God, Honest Trailers didn’t even get past the opening before they started bringing the thunder.
I’d say this was really, really helpful when it came to letting me decide whether or not to pay to see RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON, except that I already had made that call. It did validate my decision to wait, though. Although I might have still gone to see it in theaters if we still had those where I am.
