The BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER Teaser trailer.

I don’t think they could have not made this movie, actually.

Chadwick Boseman was, by all accounts, a decent, devout, and charismatic man whom nobody ever had an unkind word for. I walked out of CIVIL WAR actively eager to see BLACK PANTHER, and I wasn’t disappointed when I finally saw it. Hollywood clearly wants to make a lot of money from WAKANDA FOREVER, and this isn’t the movie they would have made if he was still alive, but… the actors in it likely miss Boseman, too. And I expect that it’ll come through into the movie itself.

So, hey, it might be a really good flick.

*The possibility that anyone but Chadwick Boseman could play that role right now is, of course, absurd.

Alex reached after a moment out to pull on one pipe in the pile, which turned out to be a knob on a hinged door. On the other side was another, considerably rougher-looking, tunnel. “Clever,” Alex said in a normal voice. “And obviously not trapped.”

“Nice,” Jim squinted at the hidden door. “What tipped you off?”

“Air currents,” she replied. “There’s no natural wind underground, so when there’s a draft, you look for the hole. This one is definitely morlock-made.”

Jim noted the slight disappointment in her voice. “That a problem? That’s who attacked me.”

Yes, but I was rather hoping they were outcasts, hired by your gunslinger. And he went this way. See the blood?”

He peered. “No… hold on, let me change filters… ah. Yeah, there’s some on the inner handle. He ran in, pulled it behind him, and kept going. Into the morlock… hive? Den?”

“Village. Which is where we’ll have to go next.”

Begun, the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 3 Leaked Trailer War has.

Mostly fought on YouTube, and savagely enough that at the moment the only clips available of the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 3 trailer have been deliberately chopped and filtered. Presumably this is because Disney’s AI isn’t so much being developed as it is being desperately constrained: regular techniques for avoiding takedown notices would ablate under its impersonal, yet brutal gaze. I’m just glad that Disney can’t hack my wetware.

Yet.

Anyway, why is the GotG trailer being hunted down in the wild? Because its Essential Saltes be not complete, that’s why:

“I wish you could have [seen it] too,” {Director James} Gunn replied on social media to one fan who was outraged over Marvel’s decision not to release the trailer online. “But it’s not just Marvel, it’s also me. Although I love the teaser, some VFX aren’t where I’d want them to be for repeated views and close inspection — remember we didn’t wrap long ago — so you’ll have to wait just a beat! Sorry!”

So, Ye Liveliest Awfulness either way, I guess.

The “/set eyebrow = ‘Raised’] THE SANDMAN Trailer.

Apologies if the coding is off. I am an English major. Besides, you get what I mean:

It’s not the character gender/race-swapping in THE SANDMAN that’s causing it. I simply don’t care about that, as long as the replacement actor’s good at his/her job. No, what’s making me suspicious is the way that they’re apparently framing The Corinthian as at least a major villain in the show; one who can apparently at least go toe-to-toe with Dream. That is… not how the Corinthian comes across in the original comics.

Other than that? Yeah, it looks pretty Gaiman-y. I’ll catch the first episode, sure. See how it goes. I’m pretty easy to please that way.

Alex sipped the ‘tea’ the police investigators had brought with them to the crime scene, and grimaced. From the taste it was one of the V-food substitutes the Invaders provided their subjects; even after five years there was still boxes and boxes of V-foods, mostly because they uniformly tasted awful. The Windsor dynasty was making the government use V-foods until 90% of the population was eating regular meals again, which Jim privately thought was objectively brilliant. Even if it meant having to choke it down right now.

“A broken arm from the rock-hammer would have moved a bureaucrat along nicely,” she went on. “Even the knife just had a knockout gel on it. That would have done the business, too, if it had broken the skin. How did you find covert undermesh armor so quickly, anyway? We only spoke this morning.”

Jim looked at her, slightly confused. “I work in a mostly-liberated capital of a mostly-liberated nation. It’s run by a faction of almost ruthlessly pragmatic neo-monarchists whose enemies are typically vile. I’ve been wearing body armor under my suit since I took this job.”

“Is that normal?”

“Not really. Then again, neither am I.”

The SHE-HULK: ATTORNEY AT LAW Disney+ trailer.

The first scene in the trailer made me laugh. I freely admit it.

And since SHE-HULK: ATTORNEY AT LAW is supposed to be a comedy, I guess that means the trailer did its job. Whether the series will is another story. The obviousness of the CGI may be an unsurmountable problem. I mean, she’s gonna be Hulked out for most of the show, right?

Well, I guess we’ll see.

PS: They toned down the fetishism for the trailer, which was probably smart. Not that I am going to criticize a person for liking seven-foot-tall, statuesque green women. It’s a big old world out there.
