‘Baker Baker.’

This woman’s music was the soundtrack for some of the best times in my early twenties.

Getting ready for tomorrow… [MORGAN BAROD still on sale!]

…and it’s gonna be interesting. The kind of interesting where I might pull up, look at the situation, and go get breakfast. Fortunately, my setup takes twenty minutes. Unfortunately, it’s the also the kind of interesting where I packed a table, chair, and extra power generators just in case.

Also: MORGAN BAROD is still on sale! For all your “fighting with magically mutated carnivorous squirrels” needs!

This SUPERMAN clip was a lot of fun to watch in the theater.

And the song is a danged bop. Is that what they say, now? A ‘bop?’

Testing a download QR Code for tomorrow.

This should work? The QR code is for Milken Forts, the cross-collaboration that Adventures Await! and I did for The Fermi Resolution Worldbook and Lead & Chrome Backerkits. Let me know if the link doesn’t work.

Back from the DMV!

Shockingly early. The eldest needed to get his learner’s permit, and they’ve set it up so that he could submit stuff online early, make an appointment, be seen at the time of the appointment, submit the paperwork, take the test, and get his learner’s permit. In less than an hour. At the DMV.

The DMV.

Honestly, I had blocked out the entire morning and afternoon for this one. I wasn’t even mad about it, because it would have been like being mad at the tides. Only they apparently put up a breakwater while I wasn’t looking?

PS: I’m as shocked as you are.

Ordered: The Nefarious Nights of Willowweep Manor.

Obviously, The Nefarious Nights of Willowweep Manor was written by Shaenon Garrity, who is even now working on my the book cover art for BANSHEE BEACH. Admittedly, she’s probably at the stage that artists have where they think about things for a little while, just before they erupt into galvanic action, but that’s all right. You cannot rush the process. And since this was what the process has produced

WEAPONS is good, and so must be stopped.

This is what we in the business call a Shot / Chaser. (Both links GeekTyrant.)

Shot:

Chaser:

As it happens, I agree with Josh Brolin: WEAPONS is a very good flick, and the opposite of boring. Without going into spoilers, it manages to juggle horror and comedy, while at the same time playing around with… well, it was sort of like a “non-linear narrative,” except that it wasn’t pretentious and stupid. I was expecting to be mildly good, and was very pleasantly surprised at how good and original it was.

So, naturally, Hollywood will want to neuter this movie right away. It’s like ARRIVAL. God forbid we should develop higher expectations, right? So they want to now do a prequel, just to give answers to questions that nobody’s asking. I don’t need to know the motivation of the villain. I saw it on the screen. It was all about evil, and greed. There. Now let’s get back to the film.

I swear to God, but these people need to learn to get out of their own way…

Tweet of the Day, I’m Impressed With The Straight Face edition.

You don’t usually get to see this kind of calm, non-threatening insane. Obviously, it’s a bit – but even if it wasn’t, I’m pretty sure you could trust this guy to be around knives. That’s not nothing.

My man got the warning you need to listen to.
