My Once Upon A Con after-report.
It went extremely well! …For me, and the other authors/vendors. I sold a bunch of books, and I wasn’t even fully part of the entire scene (this was very much a romantasy convention). I also got to spend some time with my sister-in-law, and a bit more with my wife. I have been a bit out of it today, because my social batteries were spluttering out by Sunday morning, but all in all it went well enough that I probably should do this con again next year, despite the fact that the table fee’s gonna double.
Assuming there is a con next year. There were apparently a lot of teething troubles, as well as con drama. I’m very glad I did it, but this weekend was hardly without stress.

PS: Also, I’m bringing a second table from now on. It makes things so much easier.
PPS: Also-also, I updated my LinkTree.
PPPS: Also-also-I’ll stop now, I need to think about a cheap place to score stickers.
‘Jyn’s Heroes.’
I dunno why, but this recut ROGUE ONE trailer is fire. Maybe because that movie sort of is a Seventies movie, in its way. A lot of messed-up people dealing with a messed-up situation, and sometimes that best thing you can do is to give the bad guys the finger on your way down the elevator shaft.
Maybe that’s why I like this movie so much. It’s one of the few Star Wars things made in the Disney era that actually has something to say.

It’s been a good sales weekend so far, and hopefully I’ll score a couple more today before we close. It’s been a very energetic few days, though. I’m not used to this level of sustained sociability.
Oh! Here’s my LinkTree. Very useful for finding all my stuff.

A good day, and a lonnnng one.
The venue… is not very good at being a convention venue. The venue also knows that it has no need to be very good, and I feel this is reflected in their operating procedures. It didn’t affect my sales today, but it’s definitely going to be a thing, the next time this convention is put on.

PS: I probably shouldn’t say anything more specific than that.
Book of the Week: Call for the Dead.

Yeah, I finally got around to start reading John Le Carre’s George Smiley novels, starting with Call for the Dead. I have a lot of stuff to read. Gimme a break.

I say that without irony, sarcasm, or even good-natured ribbing. This was the goal, all along. This makes the Founders weep with joy in Heaven. This is how they know that they won.
Gentlemen, start you bacon! On its 100th anniversary, today's #DavesCarIDService salutes arguably the finest (and cheesiest) automobile racing competition ever devised: The annual Pig-N-Ford races at the Tillamook County Fair in Tillamook, Oregon.

Loooong day.
It was a good sales day and it may be a slamming one tomorrow, but it was a day that went hard. There were teething troubles. But it’s been freaking big, too, so there you go. I am slagged.
PS: If you can’t make it to the convention, buy my books! And remember that MORGAN BAROD is on Kindle sale this weekend.
BEHOLD! I am at Once Upon A Con.
Hanging out with my sister-in-law today, which is nice. If you’re here, stop on by! I have books.
