Come Near

Jesus has come near Breaking into time and space Humbled, human, giving up everything Prepared to give everything Jesus, come as a baby No palace for a home No kingly robes, no golden throne Destined to be enthroned upon a cross Jesus, God in human form Made nothing for us Who rejected Him and killed Him Killed to give us life Jesus, sent as a baby Killed as a common thief Resurrected as the Saviour of all Coming back to reign and rule

No Just for Christmas

Jesus didn’t just come down at Christmas, He now dwells with us in the hearts of all who believe. He is no longer distant but an ever present help at all times. He is closer than a brother, more caring than a parent, wiser than your closest friend and more powerful than the greatest King. He is a baby no more but wise people still seek Him and those who truly seek Him find Him.

Your Number One Fan

No matter what you have done, God is your number one fan. He is your greatest supporter and wants you to succeed. If you follow Him your plans will prosper and He will give you the desires of your heart.

2021

2021 – what a year!! We all have so much to be thankful for. Even those who have walked through the valley of the shadow of death or have suffered a great deal. No matter what we have been through there is even more for us to be thankful for. We could choose to dwell on our disappointments, our struggles and our losses or we can turn and look at all the blessings, opportunities, friendships, triumphs, special moments and mercies that God has afforded us. Join me in giving thanks for another wonderful year and looking in wondrous anticipation to the one to come. Thank you Jesus and thank you all for being a part of 2021with me.

A Fresh Start

A fresh start, a new beginning, the latest chapter. Over-night nothing radical has changed but today offers us a wonderful opportunity to begin again. A brilliant chance to turn over a new leaf, to re-focus and to strive for something better. I’m not talking about New Years’ Resolutions I’m talking about real changes for God or real changes to move you closer to God. What will you decide to change, take up or recommit to today?

Not What, but Who

It’s not WHAT you know that will help you most this year, it really is WHO you know. You can know all you want to about God but don’t confuse that with actually knowing God. I know a lot about many famous people, but I don’t know any of them personally – and they certainly don’t know me. To know God you need to truly seek Him out, spend time with Him, speak to Him and listen for His voice. This year, certainly continue to learn about Him but also learn to be with Him as well and you will surely find that it is not WHAT you know but WHO you know that truly countst.

Missed Opportunities

Don’t let tomorrow be littered with missed opportunities, blown chances and wrong turns. Commit tomorrow to God and commit yourself to following His lead wherever that may take you.

This Year

This year could be like any other. However, we have the opportunity to make it remarkable. It’s all down to us, it doesn’t depend on our circumstances, other people, our job or anything else, it’s down to us. Will we choose to follow God more closely, take more risks for Him, care more deeply for others and for God’s world? Will we commit ourselves to getting to know God better, spending time with Him, spending time being discipled and discipling others? Will you choose to make this a remarkable year or just another year?

The Moon

I’ve just been looking at the moon through our telescope. I love it, so bashed about, full of damage, in many ways dull and lifeless and yet so beautiful and radiant. Like us the moon has no light of its own it simply reflects the light that comes its way. We may be battered, damaged and pretty dull but when God shines His light into our lives we become radiant and a light by which to guide others. Just as the world is moving making it necessary for me to have to refocus to make sure the light of the moon is kept in the lens of the telescope so we move and need to constantly refocus on God to continue to receive His wonderful light.

Eight Beautiful Attitudes 8

And after all is said and done

and I’ve stuck right to my task

If my life is right and my walk is true

persecution is what I ask

They will criticise, mock and sneer

at every step of my life story

But though they persecute me still

it is my greatest victory. Blessed are those who are persecuted
