God’s Love

Until we, as Christians, rid ourselves of the need to show the world our judgement rather than God’s love we are falling short of what God requires of us.

In the blink of an eye

Do not worry about the wasted years, the failed attempts and the missed opportunities, instead trust in God who can restore all things. In the blink of an eye God can place you in the very place you would have been had every opportunity been taken, every attempt made and not a second been wasted. Do not worry just trust and believe.

Image of God

There are many natural features of this earth that take your breath away and fill you with awe. Yet none are made in the image of God. How much more awesome are you than the other wonders of the natural world? You are made in the very image of God. You are wonderful, awesome, magnificent. To think any less of yourself would be to devalue yourself and your creator.

Praise

Let everyone shout their praise to God

With thanksgiving worship His holy name

Make a joyful noise that is pleasing to God

Stop and realise deep down that He is your God

That He made you, He knows you and you belong to Him

We are all the children of God, adopted into His family.

Come into the presence of God with a thankful heart

Take every moment to praise Him in thought and word

Be ever thankful and lift His name on high

For God is worthy and will never let you down

He will remain faithful until the very end.

The price has been paid

You cannot earn your way into heaven or even into God’s good books. Being good holds no weight compared with the overwhelming weight of sin. One small sin cannot be paid off by a life-time of good works, it is that serious. God didn’t send His only son to die for something that a little bit of goodness could pay for. He sent His son because there was no other way. Sin has a price and that price is death. It is that serious. Yet God has paid that price for us, He has rescued us from death, He has redeemed our lives through the death of His only son, Jesus Christ. The price has been paid. Thank you Jesus.

God is with you

In the busyness of life, in the comings in and the goings out, remember that God is with you, He never leaves you. Remember that when we forget Him He never forgets us and always watches over us.

God is love

God is love and everything He does flows from that. He can do no evil or anything that is counter to love. Love is not just His nature it is who He is and He does not change. God is love in the times of plenty and the times of want. He is love in the times of joy and the times of sadness. He does not change and nothing we can do can change the love He has for us.

Clearing out

I’m a bit of a hoarder, but I’ve been having a clear out! I’ve been really trying to get rid of bags full of greed, boxes full of envy and sheds full of unforgiveness. I’ve found a whole room full of unbelief which I’m slowly sorting through and I’ve sent off loads full of worry, anxiety and fear to the dump. Our local charity shops are now full of deceit, lies, judgement and pride that I’ve finally let go of but the trouble is, I’ve still got rooms and rooms still to work on, oh well the clear out continues… anyone want to join me?

Heroes and villains

For life’s heroes, may they see reward

For life’s villains, may they see justice

For life’s poor, may they be provided for

For life’s rich, may they be generous

For life’s lonely, may they find friendship

For life’s sociable, may they be thankful

For life’s anxious, may they find peace

For life’s secure, may they bring friendship

For life’s busy, may they find time

For life’s inactive, may they find incentive

For life’s tired, may they find rest

For life’s energised, may they have vision

For life’s needy, may they find grace

For life’s privileged, may they purpose

For life’s repentant, may they find mercy

For life’s impenitent, may they find a change of heart

For life’s hurting, may they find love

For life’s healthy, may they praise God

For life’s pained, may they find relief

For life’s calm, may they give reassurance

For life’s sad, may they find joy

For life’s cheerful, may they spread happiness

For life’s fearful, may they find comfort

For life’s brave, may they give others courage

For life’s doubters, may they find faith

For life’s believers, may they bring life.

Mercy and Grace

If you never seek you will not find

If you never pray God will not answer

If you never fear God you will not find wisdom

If you never forgive you will not be forgiven

And yet God’s mercy runs deep

If you never knock the door will not open

If you never read God’s word you will not know Him

If you never listen you will not hear God’s voice

If you never ask it will not be given to you

And yet God’s grace runs deep
