Molte marche di abbigliamento donano parte dei loro profitti per aiutare l’ambiente. Per esempio, Patagonia dona i suoi profitti a cause ambientali. Many clothing brands donate part of their profits to help the environment. For example, Patagonia donates its profits to environmental causes. This decision aligns with Patagonia’s existing initiatives, such as donating 1% of its annual sales to environmental organizations through the ‘1% for the Planet’ program. This commitment makes Patagonia an exceptional example of corporate responsibility in addressing environmental issues.

Aprire un’attività/un’azienda/avviare un’impresa – starting a business
Aprire un’attività è molto emozionante - Starting a business is very exciting
Avvincente – captivating/compelling/enthralling
Il film più avvincente che ho visto? V for Vendetta - The most compelling film I've seen? V for Vendetta.
Baby boomer – baby boomer
Uno studente mi ha chiesto come si dice ‘baby boomer’. Si dice ‘baby boomer’. Spesso usiamo le parole inglesi quando è difficile tradurle - A student asked me how to say 'baby boomer'. It's 'baby boomer'. We often use English words when it’s hard to translate them.
Benzina – petrol/fuel

Abbonamento – subscription/membership
Ha l’abbonamento a Netflix, Stan, Disney e Amazon e si lamenta che non trova mai niente da guardare. Ma come è possible? – He has subscriptions to Netflix, Stan, Disney and Amazon and complains that he can never find anything to watch. How is this possible?
Accarezzare – to pet an animal
La prima cosa che faccio quando arrivo a casa è accarezzare i miei gatti - the first thing I do when I get home is pet my cats.
Adatto – suitable
A: “Questo film non è adatto ai ragazzi dell atua età”
B: “Mamma… sarà la decima volta che guardo Fight Club!”
A: “This film is not suitable for children of your age”
B: “Mom… it must be the tenth time I watch Fight Club!”
Alcolici – alcoholic drinks
Avevo un’amica che non beveva alcolici … Poi le ho fatto provare il Negroni e non si è mai guardata indietro - I had a friend who didn't drink alcohol... Then I made her try Negroni and she never looked back.
Alcolista – alcoholic
Un uomo è stato licenziato dopo aver detto a uno dei suoi colleghi che andava alle riunioni degli alcolisti anonimi. Ha fatto causa alla compagnia e con i soldi che ha vinto è andato in pensione - A man was fired after telling one of his colleagues he went to Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. Perché vado sempre in vacanza all’estero? Perché viaggiare in Australia è carissimo - Why do I always go on holiday abroad? Because traveling around Australia is very expensive.
Affari esteri – foreign affairs
A: Preferiresti essere Ministro per gli Affari Esteri o Ministro dell’Economia?
B: Nessuno dei due.
A: Perché?
B: Preferirei vincere alla lotteria e andare alle Hawaii.
A: Would you prefer to be Minister for Foreign Affairs or Minister for Economy?

Affittare – to rent

I wonder what else they'll try to sell us in ten years.

Arredare – to furnish/to decorate
Arredare la casa con Ash è stato molto piacevole - Decorating the house with Ash was very pleasant.
Assicurazione – insurance
È molto imporatante avere l’assicurazione quando si viaggia - It is very important to have insurance when traveling.
Assunzione a tempo determinato (Fixed-term employment)
In Italia, dovrebbero assumere meno persone a tempo determinato e più persone a tempo indeterminato - In Italy, they should hire fewer people on fixed-term contracts and more people on permanent contracts.
Atteggiamento – attitude
A: “Signorina, il suo atteggiamento non mi piace per niente”
B: “Peccato, perché a me piace molto”
A: “Miss, I don't like your attitude at all”
B: “It's a shame, because I really like it”

Italian Reflexive verbs
Reflexive verbs
Reflexive verbs are verbs that are used with a reflexive pronoun.
The Italian reflexive prononus are:
mi - myself
ti - yourself
si - himself, herself, oneself
ci - ourselves
vi - yourselves
si - themselves
Reflexive prononuns usually come before the verb, e.g., mi diverto – I enjoy myself. However, in some imperative forms and the infinitive, reflexive prononuns follow the verb, e.g., sbrigati!/sbrigatevi! – hurry up!, and sbrigarsi – to hurry up.
In this article, we will learn the most common Italian reflexive verbs.

Sentirsi – to feel

Spogliarsi – to get undressed/take one's clothes off

Stressarsi – to get stressed
“Quando vengono i miei genitori dall’Italia, mi stresso sempre perché voglio che trovino la casa perfetta”

Tagliarsi – to cut oneself
“Mi sono tagliata mentre sbucciavo una mela”

Trovarsi – to be located, to find oneself somewhere
“Ieri sera ho visto Idris Elba in un ristorante. Mi trovo sempre nel posto giusto al momento giusto”
“Last night I saw Idris Elba in a restaurant. I'm always in the right place at the right time”
Truccarsi – to put on make up
“Non mi piace molto truccarmi. Preferisco un look naturale”
“I don't really like wearing makeup. I prefer a natural look”
Ubriacarsi – to get drunk
“Ubriacarsi è vietato in alcuni paesi. Per fortuna qui non lo è.”
“Getting drunk is forbidden in some countries. Lucky it's not forbidden here”
Vestirsi – to get dressed
“Vestirsi di bianco a un matrimonio non è una buona idea”
“Wearing white to a wedding is not a good idea”
Voltarsi – to turn oneself around

Italian Reflexive verbs
Reflexive verbs
Reflexive verbs are verbs that are used with a reflexive pronoun.
