I always have been into what inspires magic, world-building, and brings the art of mystery to the creative mind. Too many authors though. But I'd say J. R. R. Tolkien, J. K. Rowling, and of course Stephen King.

This one reminded me of the old horror movies. But the greatest thing you'll find in this book is the twists and turns, the suspense and how it develops as you go. I like also the fact that it has variety--zombies, voodoo, strange rituals, and the da ...more

I always enjoy a good sci-fi novel about time travel, and this one didn't disappoint. I really liked the fact that it touches on some deep mesages regarding our human existence (not saying much more than that, better discover it for yourself). There ...more

“To be satisfied with a little, is the greatest wisdom; and he that increaseth his riches, increaseth his cares; but a contented mind is a hidden treasure, and trouble findeth it not.”

“Experience life in all possible ways --
good-bad, bitter-sweet, dark-light,
summer-winter. Experience all the dualities.
Don't be afraid of experience, because
the more experience you have, the more
mature you become.”

“Empty your mind of all thoughts.
Let your heart be at peace.
Watch the turmoil of beings,
but contemplate their return.
Each separate being in the universe
returns to the common source.
Returning to the source is serenity.
If you don't realize the source,
you stumble in confusion and sorrow.
When you realize where you come from,
you naturally become tolerant,
disinterested, amused,
kindhearted as a grandmother,
dignified as a king.
Immersed in the wonder of the Tao,
you can deal with whatever life brings you,
and when death comes, you are ready.”
