Interim

I sit with the echoes of my longing
And the still sad humdrum of humanity
There is a sigh of my timid horizon
Where the noon day begins
Where the stars shall be won
And nothing
Nothing will be relevant except for the moment
We breathe
A minute second of magical ecstasy
A rainbow hidden, finally blooming.

Anne & Angelou

I have been reading Maya Angelou’s poetry for a long while now and I was too excited to dive myself into her complete collected poetry to not like it. Needless to say I am in awe, awe of the writer in her, awe of the poet, in awe of her womanhood, in complete awe of herself.

I won’t do justice to her book if I am to review it, so instead I will just say that her poetries are not for a weak heart. Not everyone will get her despite the usage of her most simplistic thoughts and words. Her wo...

An Ode To 2020

Women, wrong; Men, wrong
Blame patriarchy
A trend set fake feminism.
Truths hidden, sources misused
Toxicity left, an only muse.
Wander, wander around if you will
Find, find the source if you will
Failure, an only accomplice.
Poverty and texture in coarse rumblings
Death_
No food
A trickle of water?
Lost families
Lost homes
Where do I wander
Where my roots sown?
Run, run away from the light
It's all black everywhere.
Help, aid, bigger causes
But my tiny soul still bereft.
Black & brown & coffee ...

Someone

I wish you were here
You-
Something, someone
Anything would do
I just wish you were here.
I'd have someone,
Instead of this empty silience
And it would still be the same
Except for this lonesome hue,
An entourage of sufferings
Along with dusted boring blues.

A Suitable Boy

It took me approximatley two years before I picked this 1500 pages long and snugly printed paperback from my shelf. But I can safely say that each word of it has been a pleasure, an inebriated drink on life and journeys.

A Suitable Boy by Vikram Seth, at an outset is a long enchanting saga of finding a suitable boy for Lata. The core is the love story, however there is so much more to it that few words cannot simply justify the feelings that you go through reading this.

I have cried along...

Behind the Book – Posies #guestpost by Moushmi Radhanpara

Hey folks, today I have a short post to share with you. Shivi Chinnappa very generously invited me for a guest post on her blog allowing me to go on and on about how my first book Posies came about. It is not a very intriguing take, but it is interesting and very dear to me.

Go check out what I have to brag about myself and what she has to say about this tiresome author

The Irony Of Hidden Bodies And Open Minds

Every woman knows the torment of speaking up. I have known it in the past, and I might with this post too. But I will say it, now, and again and again. Just like all those powerful women who did ages back, who keep doing it even now.  I am just one of those wanting to see a change, speaking up our minds but we know, even as we write and speak we know, we are never going to be alive to see the difference. Lets see what has changed? There have been times when women werent allowed to even write...

You Know What You Need

When it comes to mental health I believe it is you who know what you need. No one can tell you what to do and how to deal with it. No other being is obliged or has the right to make you feel worthless, nor to tell you that you are being too dramatic with your issues. They are not your caregivers and you are not theirs. So, unless otherwise there is a compassionate environment you dont want to indulge yourself with them and their toxic thoughts.

The stigma that some people associate with any...

Top 10 Books

Top 10 Books

Anyone remember that I plan to read 100 books this year? Yes, I have taken up this challenege to finish at least two books every week. So far it is going great. Though, I have no idea how this is going to end, but I am quite enjoying it. Plus, the added self-isolation has worked to my benefit. Now, I am not saying that what is going around is good, but what can we do?

Well, I do have a suggestion of what we can do. As long as this quarantine lasts, we close ourselves and...
