Book review | Stories of us

This is a collection of short stories that will make the readers take some time to think and realize the things we do in practical life. The author has beautifully illustrated the plot with illustrations and it makes sense while reading the end of the chapter however those unsolved queries will hit our heads. All the stories are different from each other but everything has a moral. It covers a wide range of topics and deals with common problems such as financial status, abandoning parents, corruption, religious superstition, poverty, etc. It was quite easy for me to relate with the characters and we all would have felt the same while we witness such kind of situation in our lives. Though we acknowledge such events, we do deny it and those things are penned in this book. All the stories will remain in our minds as it gives a powerful impact while reading. The narration was quite fast-paced in some places, I felt that could be quite elaborated to make the story move with the flow. The language used by the author is lucid to understand and every chapter has a value that we must think and act in our everyday life. The cover and the title are a perfect match for the plot. It is recommended for the people who seeks to know how the society works.

The lockdown by Rashmi Trivedi

As we can all guess, this book will relate to our everyday lives dealing with the present situation. We are locked in our homes as of pandemic but what holds us is our humanity. The book shows us the optimistic side of a pandemic where we can utilize the time for ourselves, heal our hearts, and spend time with our families. We will be able to witness a 32- year old doctor named Rajesh who was certified to live only for a few months. I literally loved how the author has connected the present reality to the story. There are 6 stories with the central theme of the pandemic. All the stories will show us the reality but it could have been better if each story gives us value rather than conveying the usual story. I appreciate the efforts of the author in bringing this book during this quarantine time.

Review: Hats, Hoods and Humiliation by Hiranya Verma

I congratulate the ten-year-old kid for writing this beautiful book. The title is justified at the start of the chapter and the young author has explained as simple as possible which will be easy to grasp even by a kid. Humiliation is a part of our lives where we would have encountered at some point in our lives. The tips to handle the humiliation were wonderfully illustrated with good artwork. I could acknowledge the problems faced by children were mentioned, she brings an easy and feasible solution with a portrait. The children will derive new perspectives to handle the situation if they read this book. Along with it, the author has summarised the points to remember at the end of every chapter which will be helpful for everyone to follow. This book is recommended to the elderly people as well so that they will become aware and they can teach their children about these life lessons.

Review: Celebrate Parenthood- Change The World by Vidhu Bhatnagar

Qotd: What important things should we teach kids?

This book has signified the important roles of being a parent. The book covers most of the essential lessons like teaching moral values to kids, affection of siblings, and encouragement to children. It is the responsibility of the parents to teach their children good and bad things. The children adopt the characteristics and attitude by watching the activities of their parents so when they sow good things then the world can witness the good human. Child development is portrayed as well. The pre-birth hindrances were put up and the author has discussed the solution to tackle the situation. The book was intriguing as there were quotes and thoughtful mind provoking words in reflection part. The author has rightly put the words to make the readers understand the difference between protecting the children and controlling the children. This book is for parents to shower the love and support towards their budding blossoms.

Review: Three times loser by Akash Verma

Three times loser deals with three stories relating the major characters of Megha, Mandira, Shonali and the common protagonist Alok. It begins with Megha as she gets reminded of the nostalgic moments through a letter which was sent by Alok after many years with the mention to meet him again. Will Megha go and meet Alok? Why does he want to meet her again? The unsolved question grabs the readers attention to proceed with the book increasing the interest. It was a page turner. It was quite predictable, I felt like watching a movie as the emotions were raw and it blinded me towards the plot. The hindrances faced by Alok were narrated well. There were a few editing errors if it could be improved then this book will be fantastic to get a touching story. However the writing style was good to read the loyal feelings towards love.

Broken man by Akash Verma

This book revolves around Krishna kumar, a village boy. It takes us to a college romance where he falls in love with a brahmin girl, Chavvi. This book gives an insight into our society as the author conveys to us the hurdles which get stirred up as a result of caste discrimination. I liked the way how the author has connected the different phases like love and caste discrimination were put together making it appear like a freshly crafted plot. As the community system arose, the girl was in a need to opt for one between the two choices. Following the rules of society, she obeys her father’s words so she sacrifices her love. Then Krishna returns to his home town. Do you think Krishna can forget her? Can he be successful? It was a gripping read I love the storyline also the way the author chose to unfold the story, it was optimistic. The romance behind their statuses left conveying the emotional journey of their love.

Rhythm Roger by Himanshu Rai

Qotd: Do you get repetitive thoughts about something that has happened recently? If yes then how will you escape from those thoughts?

The protagonist of this book is Rhythm, a network design engineer. All of a sudden, a stranger from another world (electon) appears in front of him. Rhythm urges to explore the world of electon and wishes to know more about the stranger (Markboo). The story is unfolded as Rhythm falls to electon world so join this virtual world to discover the mind blowing tale of telecom fantasy plot. Markboo conveys the factual stuffs to save the human world as tech might get surrendered by dslots (dataslots) in the nearby future. Who is Roger? It was an amazing twisted tale that will give insights about the thorough knowledge of physics. Though I’m not a science student, this book was still understandable as the author has used the simple common terms. This plot is thoroughly researched, and it is written brilliantly. The only drawback was the formatting, it could have been better. Overall it was an amazing sci fi read, and I highly recommend it.

You never know by Akash Verma | Book Review

The story revolves around the protagonist Druv. He works in an advertising firm and is married to Shalini, a Psychiatrist and they have two children. Their lives were moving peacefully until Dhruv meets Anuradha. Anuradha was working as creative head in his office, they got attracted towards each other. What was even worst was that Dhruv compared Anuradha with his wife in the first instance, I was totally disappointed with the misconceptions of Dhruv. How can he be untrustworthy? And Anuradha was not even feeling embarrassed for dating a married guy. Then the past of Anuradha taunts Dhruv. I was disheartened in the way how the story progressed with the lust over other woman, it was absurdly written in raw language with complete intense scenes making it appear like A certified film. The author has done a minimal research to get the touch of factfulness and gave a supressive name over feminine characters and the real innocent love was ruined with this story. The cover was designed well with the choice of fascinating color. Overall, it was an average one time read.

Review of Yours legally

There was some warmth within me towards law and legal aspects. This book provoked all the hidden feelings that I had towards this study. The book started with the experience of the author. She has expressed how hard it was to tackle the journey in publishing this book. This book contains short stories that relate different cases with the same protagonist Sia. I loved the character of Sia as I could feel myself in her, she was working as an intern in many cases and learns the lessons from the advocates. Those lessons were really inspiring and I could get to know what the characters sense. My favorite story in this book was the second chapter 'the court’. The different aspects of thinking were introduced in this book which was mind-blowing. The dramas, emotions, and everything was very well portrayed. Moreover, the character development was done really well and it is clear to understand. My love for this study has increased a lot after reading this book. The cover is designed well by using the author sign as a stamp and the title is suitably decided to be compatible with the story. A can give a 5-star rating without thinking twice.
