Things have been changing a lot this year.
Things have been changing a lot this year. There is no other way to survive rather than adjusting and adapting to the prevailing situation of COVID-19. No matter what happens, Christmas has always been a festival where people celebrate their love, care, and happiness by losing themselves for others’ happiness. Christmas allows reconnecting with friends and families. It is the holiday season where everyone travels from far places to reunite together. As the pandemic prolongs, there are high chances that people will get exposed to coronavirus; besides, cold weather can increase in cases; thus, people shop more online. Though there are a few measures to follow while attending holiday gatherings, still, they have a chance to present some perfect gifts for their loved ones. Also, if the bonding gets broken, this occasion builds a bridge to reunite their friendship. This winter, we are in Paris to celebrate Christmas. It is the city of lights that has got some extra dose of twinkling incandescent lamps. We admired the Christmas lights. We felt they were more than mere bulbs because of the elevating feel that we evoked in our soul while watching the antique silver and pink hanging handcrafted lantern and colorful light settings. The place followed a theme in hues of red and blush, leaving a look over the fantasy world. It was morning when we reached our home, my mom opened the door, and she was about to welcome my sister and me. Despite that, I went straight to my bedroom since I was excited to open the gifts from the hanging stockings, and yeah, I got our hands on playing cards. Thank you, mommy! I voiced out loudly with a gleaming smile. Generally, people gather together to spend some quality time. It was when our neighbor uncle and aunt visited our place. My sister gestured to me to come out, I did not mind to watch her actions, but I returned to the living room as I heard constant distant voices. Whoa! They were young when I saw them last time but the times have changed. It has been almost five years since I have seen them. I could see a clear wide smile; Aunt began the conversation, “You have grown up, child. You also became lean as you went to India.” I did not know what to reply. So I was mum, of course, a thousand thoughts passed through my head when I listened to the conversation. They gestured to me to come near. I went close, and they presented me with a mason jar covered with photos. I got that happily and stood back near the curtains. As they were conversing with my mom, I took that inside my room and saw the personalized mason jar that glowed with the led lights; I could see myself as a child sitting near my neighbor uncle in that photo; there were some of the personalized messages that took me back to my childhood days. I was able to sense how much they sheltered the memories with me. Though it was a small gift, I treasure it whenever I gaze.

Book review | The girl who saw it all by Rooprashi
Finding love is important but it is not everything in life. It is just a part of life. The girl who saw it all is about this. Hello everyone this is Muthulakshmi. And today's book focuses on love and life.
The protagonist of the story is Aarohi and the story revolves around her life. She is an ambitious girl who wishes to excel in her studies but she got deviated from the path and she falls in confusion in choosing between love and life. It is when Rudhra, her childhood friend proposes to her. In that situation, she denies it at first and it was too late when she realized that she had feelings for him. She was devasted. She then moves on with her life to reach success. Meanwhile, she meets another guy. Do you think she can begin a new relationship? Or will she get reminded of her first love?
Although the story was a little predictable still it gave a message about the harsh realities of life. The characters present in the story are pretty much relatable and I could connect with the plot in many places. Also, I will recommend it.

Piece of Poetry- Me & Me by Raviraj Mishra
This book is a collection of short poems from me to me i.e. the things author would like to say to himself and he expresses these through the poems so that the readers get benefitted from this literary piece.
The poems offer encouragement and also can make you believe in yourself and your power to achieve your dreams.
The poems can make you love yourself again and forgive yourself if you lost the path somewhere down the line, it asks you to not bash yourself for the mistakes but to look at how far you have come.
.
It also asks you to embrace the obstacles life throws your way for they are just meant to transform you and give you the wings you have always desired, so stop asking why? Stop asking why me?
.
All the poems are written in very simple language and convey ideas worth adopting, ideas that can encourage, instill confidence, make you love yourself and forget about the haters.
.
It’s a short and quick read. I read it in an hour and enjoyed each and every line. Some of my favourite poems are-
You that lives inside, To be with myself, Who am I? and Don’t Let Them.
.
Sharing a few lines from one of my favourite poems, You that lives inside:
Bring me back
from the worse and
lift me up to the sky.
For all my hopes are on to you.
You that lives inside.
The stronger,
wiser and the bold one.
Keep me steady and
force me to fly.
Until I touch the moon
and bring back
all that shines.

Advice or a life lesson about humanity
I have seen everyone within their families be it siblings, uncle-daughter, and aunt-daughter relationship. Almost people tend to lose their own real identity and they think that their status is more substantial than humanity and everything. I do not find humanity, empathy in people rather I’m able to see only their egoism and hatred. This one life is not to live by hating each other or by carrying envy in heart. I have lately understood that we can never win our life by being egoistic.
We all know our life has ups and downs. As an individual, it is very hard to overcome the struggles and when we are stumbling in that path, just imagine; how would you feel when you get mocked by someone during that troubling stage? You will get very annoyed right? Yes, you will never know what that person is going through in their life. Please stop ridiculing their way of life.
Sadly in this generation, everyone wishes to be superior and they do not consider the feelings of the other human. They simply pour the harsh words and it is not the right way to tackle the situation.
We should learn to respect our elders. Our ego and self respect will never leave us when we are considerate towards elder people. Indeed, I believe that they are here for us to teach something valuable. Believe in words of your parents, they are not your enemies and they are truly the ones who protect us.
I often cry when I get wholesome feelings. I’m not like other people. Even if someone hurts me, I will choose not to return the hurt because I know how much it will prick inside. But it is also not advisable to be too fragile like me because people will use this softness to stamp and run being self oriented.
I used to plead for my favorite people to stay besides me while I was in my school. But the time fades, when I realised people will not be the same; I just stopped stressing too much over them. So then I started focusing on myself by improving my skills.
One life lesson is to be humble, down to earth and when people fail to understand you, during that time, just show them your strength by succeeding to the top level in your career instead wounding their hearts by speaking harsh words.
Remember you cannot achieve victory when your opponent is scolding you from inside. So just work hard to show your superiority in front of the people and that will be the right kind of revenge.
I will end this with a note to appreciate little things because not everyone can become great. But the little things they do are always great. If you can’t appreciate then please don’t degrade them and ditch. Let everyone live. Let everyone be happy in this one life.

Poetry book review: Melody and melancholy
Hey lovelies,
So here I'm with another poetry book Melody and melancholy by @gowravyravanan . I was delighted to pick and read this book.
It had many free verse poems, it will relate to the elements of the relationship, life, heartbreak, and one side love. It was nice to see the metaphors being used in a few poems as we can easily understand and compare the situations. It's true that all our enjoyable memories will turn into saddest melancholy someday as the title suggests.
The illustrations were pretty amazing and that gave a hook to read the poems. It's actually a book of free verse poems and the other few poems seemed to be like prose conveying the meaning of life and a few were like quotes. It didn't follow a particular theme to communicate the goal of the poem. I really wished if this book was categorized based on the theme, it would be amazing. But still, I felt good to read this book that connected various emotions.
I will recommend this book for the poetry lovers and for the people who wish to overcome the emotional trauma of life.

Book review
Book: Her Eyes Underwater
Author: Romona Simon
Genre: Thriller
The best part about thriller book is that you get so zoned in to their deranged plotlines that hours and hours of reading will go by and feel like just a few minutes ago it started. Well this is one of the book which you won’t be able to put down until you’ve turned the last page.
I liked this book because the way it creates uncertainty in you mind is stunning. At some point you’ll realize you know what’s happening and you must predict but later on you’ll end up landing tottering somewhere else.
The story is about Julia - woman who craves for attention. She used to carry her great confidence and audacity within. Though considering all her perfection, she was alone and searching of her soulmate. It was one day when she was sitting alone in a cafe and met Alex. That was love at first sight for Julia.
The conversation occurred between two, they found common college but never saw each other. Alex was a stud kind of guy - outspoken, handsome and soft speaking. It was sure that any girl can fall for him. Alex wasn’t the type of guy which everyone thought of. There ware many mysteries that he beholds. His personality might be a trap for everyone’s out there who fell for him.
What’s the matter ? Why doesn’t Alex seemed normal? What mysteries he had in his life? Will he trap Julia in his plan?
Grab now to unfold the mystery lying beneath. This is an intriguing plotline where the story is brilliantly narrated. It hooks up the readers from toe to head.

Marigold the golden memories by Manali Debroy
Marigold is a collection of short stories, the author has intended to write them passionately from drawing the interest of real-life incidents. So that may be the reason why I would have felt more connected with the story. On the other hand, she has vented the rich flow of vocabulary, it is clearly seen in the way she chose to narrate the story. My top favorite stories are "my icon, happily ever after, the unforgettable" This book not only relates the pain and love but it also teaches us the moral life lessons in order to move ahead in every aspect of our lives. At the ending of every story, we will realize things lately.
It was very sentimental and I felt tears in my eyes while reading the story, it became very close to my heart. Perhaps, I loved the determined and active female protagonist in every story. I cherished reading the book as the author has used rich vocabulary to express the emotions, it kept me hooked. The characterization is also done pretty well. The cover seems to be elegant and nicely designed with a suitable title for the written stories because this book will bring back all the nostalgic memories, emotions, understanding. It was an engaging read and I will definitely recommend everyone to read it.

Book review: Primrose’s curse- A fairytale of an audacious girl by Kiara Shankar and Vinay Shankar
First of all, I would like to congratulate the young girl for writing such a wonderful story. Her experience in watching and reading has made her write this fairy tale as I could clearly depict her grasping power over flipping the pages. So the protagonist of this story is Primrose, a twelve-year-old kid. Her family has a poor background, she has a brother and a sick father. In order to get rid of his ailment, she strides to the tropical forest to procure some therapeutic plants. On reaching that place, something weird occurs as she gawks the animals speaking. So it's such a beautiful fairytale that will allow the children to get a new experience. They try to seek her favor in order to make the world a better place and to get rid of the evil powers. What will happen next? Will primrose and animals fight against the odd?
What do I love in this book?
• The narration is crisp and clear.
• The young author has taken a bold attempt to unleash her imagination with this story.
• This is an interesting short read, illustrated with beautiful pictures.
• The story is derived by her thoughts grasped from her observations.
