You can invent an entire world to suit you…moreWriting fiction is an incredibly satisfying activity, and for me writing mysteries is especially enjoyable. You can invent an entire world to suit yourself, yet at the same time you must entertain your reader with a good story that rings true. Creativity is more fun when there are rules and constraints - it's not aimless, but becomes an adventurous exploration. I put additional boundaries on my own books: the science must be true, and the personalities must be genuine. I just hope the models for my characters don't recognize themselves!(less)
