SPIDER'S BITE by Jennifer Estep

My name is Gin, and I kill people.
They call me the Spider. I'm the most feared assassin in the South — when I'm not busy at the Pork Pit cooking up the best barbecue in Ashland. As a Stone elemental, I can hear everything from the whispers of the gravel beneath my feet to the vibrations of the soaring Appalachian Mountains above me. My Ice magic also comes in handy for making the occasional knife. But I don't use my powers on the job unless I absolutely have to. Call it professional pride.

OMGosh, this week is nuts!

Can you believe it's Thursday already?!
I haven't had a chance to blog all week, because I've been super busy trying to get the first round of edits done for my upcoming August release. Yep. You read that right, and it's a little too close for comfort. Especially since this book is in the 86k-mark territory, and my daughter's still on school holidays. (Though I have to say that she's been very understand and supportive about my need to spend countless of hours in front of the computer.)
I've ...

ALIEN TANGO by Gini Koch

It's been five months since marketing manager Katherine "Kitty" Katt started working with the aliens from Alpha Centauri, and she and Jeff Martini are getting closer. But when an experimental spacecraft is mysteriously returned to the Kennedy Space Center, Kitty and the rest of her team are called in to investigate. Now the team must survive murderous attacks, remove a space entity from a group of astronauts, and avoid an unhinged woman with a serious crush on Kitty's high school boyfriend...

*smile*

Because when you smile, it puts you in a good mood and you can try to forget the things that are bothering you. Things you really shouldn't mention on your blog or anywhere online, so you bite your tongue and keep your frustration to yourself.
Sigh.
Wow. It's already Wednesday. Already halfway through the first week of my daughter's school holidays and I've done zip! Seriously. Of course, I tried not to allocate too many things during the next few weeks on purpose. lol.
Still, I've been reading ...

ULTRAVIOLET by RJ Anderson

EVERYTHING YOU BELIEVE IS WRONG
Once upon a time there was a girl who was special.
This is not her story.
Unless you count the part where I killed her.
Sixteen-year-old Alison has been sectioned in a mental institute for teens, having murdered the most perfect and popular girl at school. But the case is a mystery: no body has been found, and Alison's condition is proving difficult to diagnose. Alison herself can't explain what happened: one minute she was fighting with Tori, and the next she...

DEAD, UNDEAD OR SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN by J.A. Saare

No one knows that better than Rhiannon Murphy. She's left behind the flash and sass of Miami for the no-nonsense groove of New York City, eager for a clean slate and a fresh start. A bartender by trade, a loud mouth by choice, and a necromancer by chance, she's managed to keep her nifty talent hidden from those around her--until now.The deliciously good-looking vampire Disco knows her secret, and when he strolls into her bar to solicit help investigating the mysterious disappearances of his...

What a hellish week

I'm seriously having a shocking week.
It's a rude shock after having a wonderful June so far. :(
The weather's turned to crap, the sneakers I wear when it rains have decided to become a torture device for my right foot, the rain waits until I step out into the afternoon to start, and waits until I have a load of laundry hung out to dry on the balcony to go nuts.
And that's just the weather!

I won't even tell you about my nightmarish ordeal, which involved me applying for an Australian passport...

VENGEANCE MOON by Savannah Jordan

Revenge is a bitch, and Sariah is her biggest competition.
The name is Sariah DuShayne. I'm a real-life monster hell-bent on revenge. Five years ago, Xander Waithorn had the balls to move to my city and start spreading his werewolf virus. The bastard made me and I plan to use my hybrid DNA to change at will and get my revenge.
I should've known better than to hunt him on a full moon, but some days my vendetta gets the best of me. Hormones and Were senses raging, I accidentally ravaged some...

Four more days...

This week is a short school week for my daughter. She finishes up on Thursday and doesn't go back until July 18. Which means she'll be home with me during my birthday next month, lol. (She keeps reminding me.)
And this afternoon, after school, we've got our parent-teacher interview. After reading her report card--which was great--I expect everything to go well. :)
She was a little sick over the weekend. Don't know why, but she had a fever most of Saturday. At least she got a chance to recover f...
