Poseidon’s Adventure Home

Poseidon has had a new adventure!

He has travelled all the way from Canada, over the great depths of his kingdom of the Atlantic Ocean, and to Germany. Specifically to Gina’s House.

Thank you, Gina, for sharing this picture of Poseidon’s Adventure in his new kingdom!

“Now all I have to do is find the right spot for it,
the glaze is irresistibly iridescent and I hope I can manage!”
From one side of the Atlantic to the other!

Day 10 – A Vase A Day Keeps The Anxiety Away

Update: lockdown has been extended to at least month end

We are restricted to our household bubble and trips for essential items only. Thankfully groceries and garden centres are still open (at reduced capacity). Hopefully this will be enough to combat the variants that are the most common COVID-19 here at this time.

Continuing to pull from how pottery has helped my PTSD, my plans to help manage the stress and anxiety are simple: I will be making a new vase for each day of this two week lockdown.

Or at least that is the plan.

I aim to continue updating this post each day with my latest lockdown vase!

Phew!

You can also see finished vases (ie not raw clay) here

Day 9 – A Vase A Day Keeps The Anxiety Away

Scroll down if you already have context and just want to see today’s vase

It’s now been over a week in lockdown

We’ve had a sudden surge in our covid cases, due in part to travellers from within Canada breaking their entry isolation requirements, and university students partying – and posting pictures online with all of their tickets for public health violations.

To the credit of our government their response was swift. We are restricted to our household bubble and trips for essential items only. Hopefully this will be enough to combat the variants, which were all brought here from travel, because we have a serious lack of vaccines here compared to the UK and USA.

My plans to help manage the stress and anxiety is simple. I will be making a new vase for each day of this two week lockdown. Or at least that is the plan.

It has been announced that this lockdown is highly likely to be extended past the two weeks. This was not unexpected, but of course I was hoping for otherwise.

I aim to continue updating this post each day with my latest lockdown vase!
