Stay safe everyone!Family Matters
In The Myth of Family, we explored family from a spiritual, cultural, emotional, and personal perspective through the use of sculpture and vases. The idea of the ‘Tree of Life’ and ‘Family Tree’ is prominent in these works.
Each piece tells part of the interwoven story that explores our collective roots and the twisted branches that tell the tale of our human family and experience through myths and stories from around the world and throughout time.

Not only is the idea of a cosmic/world egg a part of Vedic mythology, it is common among many other cultures and civilizations like the Norse, Greeks, Phoenicians, and Egyptians and even among modern scientists.
You can see it in the show video below or, if your curiosity is piqued,

Day 11 – A Vase A Day Keeps The Anxiety Away
We are restricted to our household bubble and trips for essential items only. Thankfully groceries and garden centres are still open (at reduced capacity). Hopefully this will be enough to combat the variants that are the most common COVID-19 here at this time.
Continuing to pull from how pottery has helped my PTSD, my plans to help manage the stress and anxiety are simple: I will be making a new vase for each day of this two week lockdown.
Or at least that is the plan.I aim to continue updating this post each day with my latest lockdown vase!

Stay safe everyone! To The Dragon Mothers
But imagine trying to raise three wilful dragons. The daycare costs alone must cost a fortune and imagine trying to hire a nanny (though Arya may be a suitable candidate, and possible future sister-in-law.)
Mother of Dragons is named in honour of the Game of Throne’s Daenrys Targaryen, but is also here today to celebrate the full spectrum of motherhood, in all its colours.

This piece celebrates the magic of motherhood
You can see where the flames have touched this vase during the reduction process. This moment has been captured perfectly and I can see a correlation between where the flames kissed the vase and the patterns on the vase. It was like our dragon friend Viserion was present in spirit before his icy reanimation.

Three cheers to allthe dragon mothers of the world!
