Caturday Special

Happy Caturday everyone!

Chairman Meow was somewhat pleased with this new piece of pottery

It was made in honour of him (and cats).

He’s now thinking of commissioning a whole line of pottery called

the Chairman’s Collection.

We hope he may approve!

Leaving Marks

The flames of raku leave their lasting tribute on the pottery,
capturing but a moment
of the life of the fire. Once the lid is placed on the reduction bin, the fire slowly consumes
the last of the oxygen, but in this piece,
it’s memory lives on. like us, The marks become a part – and feature – of the story of the vase.

Why Mythology?

inspires my creations.

The answer is simple:
these stories contain universal truths about the human condition.

Born out of a king’s greed and desires, and a queen cursed,
he would consume human beings.

A Minute Later

It has been a minute!

Hurricane Fiona has come and gone here in Nova Scotia.

The power was out for over a week, but the Alchemist’s Studio itself is fine.
